No fim-de-semana de Páscoa estivemos num local tão bonito que quase parece mágico! Ora vejam estas fotos e digam-me se este verde não é fabuloso?? :D  O nosso pequenito divertiu-se imenso! A correr e a explorar, a fazer um picnic, como a criança gostou!! E nós também :D

This Easter weekend we went to such a pretty place that it could almost be wonderland! Look at this pictures and tell me, isn't this green just fabulous? :D Our little boy had the greatest time! Running and exploring, having a picnic, oh so fun for him!! And for us :D

Além de passeio, foram umas mini-férias de 4 dias, muita brincadeira no parque, desenhos, legos, aguarelas, ovinhos de Páscoa, houve tempo para tudo! :D E o vosso fim-de-semana, como foi? :)

Besides strolling, we had a 4-day weekend, lots of playing, going to the playground, colouring, playing with legos, painting with watercolours, Easter crafts, we did so much! :D And how was your weekend? :)

Bom Jesus

Como vocês sabem, estas semanas têm sido de trabalho intenso, tenho postado menos por aqui e também tenho bordado pouquinho =/ Às vezes nem é que seja falta de tempo, é mais o cansaço que se apodera do corpinho :p Ontem foi dia de relaxar um pouco, rever amigos e passear :)

Fomos comer um gelado ao Bom Jesus, um lugar tão agradável para passear! Espaços verdes encantadores e com uma linda vista sobre a cidade de Braga =)













E para fechar o post, um update dos meus bordadinhos, a Bluebell continua no mesmo ponto que vocês já viram mas a minha última Gorjuss já está com os seus cabelos ao vento :D

As you know, these last few weeks have been of intense work for me, I'm not posting as much as I usually do and I'm also stitching too little =/ Sometimes it's not lack of time, it's the fatigue that seizes this body :p Yesterday was day to relax a bit, meet friends and stroll :)

We went to Bom Jesus to eat an ice cream, such a lovely place to spend the afternoon! Charming green spaces and a beautiful view over the city of Braga =)

And to close this post, a stitching update! Bluebell continues at the same point but my lastest Gorjuss girl has her hair flowing in the wind :D

Viana ~ tapetes de sal

O meu fim-de-semana foi muito bem aproveitado mas comecei a semana mais cansada do que estava na sexta! :p LOL!! Ontem já me atualizei por todos os vossos blogs e hoje prometo me redimir com as respostas aos emails ;)

Estivemos em Viana do Castelo, foi a semana da Romaria da Sra da Agonia, festas bem populares aqui no norte de Portugal :) Uma das tradições para admirar nas ruas de Viana são os tapetes de sal, uma homenagem aos pescadores. Ruas que são decoradas com longos tapetes de sal colorido, também flores e alguns utensílios de pesca (como redes ou miniaturas).

I really enjoyed my weekend but I think I started the week more tired than I was on Friday! :p LOL! Yesterday I updated my blog reading and today I promise to redeem myself with all emails replies ;)

We went to Viana do Castelo, it was the week of the 'Romaria da Sra da Agonia' (something like 'Pilgrimage of Our Lady of Agony') very popular festivals in the North of Portugal :) One of the traditions to admire in the streets of Viana are carpets of salt, a tribute to the fishermen. Streets are decorated with long carpets of colored salt, also flowers and some fishing gear (nets and other miniatures). I leave you some pictures, I hope you'll enjoy :)

luzinhas de natal em crise!

Estou de volta à base, o tempo em Lisboa não deu para tudo quanto se queria mas ainda deu para algumas coisas :)

A má noticia é que não há Árvore de Natal que já havia virado tradição desde 2004 =/ (Flashback 2009 e 2008) Todos os anos, no centro da cidade de Lisboa, erguiam a maior Árvore de Natal da Europa.. em 2010 foi 'plantada' a crise económica! =( Bom, é a realidade actual por todo o mundo mas fiquei desiludida.

Para ver algo diferente, aproveitámos a viagem de regresso para visitar Óbidos Vila Natal :)







Gostei de ver a Vila iluminada, toda a muralha coberta de luzinhas é uma vista muito bonita desde a estrada até à entrada da Vila. Dentro do recinto, esperava um pouco mais de vida, de animação nas atractividades.. mais uma vez a crise económica falou mais alto e fez com que aqui também o orçamento tenha sido reduzido!











Deu para apreciar as decorações de Natal e fica o desejo de que para o próximo ano o Pai Natal traga o saco mais recheado ;)



I'm back to base, time in Lisbon wasn't enought for everything we wished but it was good :)

The bad news is that there's no Christmas tree that was a tradition since 2004 =/ (Flashback 2009 and 2008) Every year, in the center of Lisbon, stood the biggest Christmas tree in Europe.. in 2010 was "planted" the economic crisis!
Well, it's the reality throughout the world but I was disappointed =(

To see something different, we made one of ours 'strategic detours', during the return trip we stopped by Óbidos Christmas Village :)
I liked seeing the village lit up, the whole castle wall covered with blue led lights, beautiful view from the road to the entrance of the village. Inside, we were expecting a little more life and animation in the Christmas attractions.. once again the economic crisis spoke louder and the budget was reduce!

We enjoyed visiting Óbidos again, watching the Christmas decorations and lets hope that next year Santa will bring a more stuffed bag ;)

serenata em Viana :)

Olá mundo!!! :D
Andei ausente aqui porque estivemos uns dias em Viana do Castelo :)


Something like... "Who likes comes. Who loves stays. Viana stays in the heart."

A chuva é que não foi minha amiga e não me deixou fazer praia! (Nem tirar boas fotos :p) Mas deu para aproveitar uns passeios pela cidade e também o agito das festas da Sra da Agonia :)



Para quem ainda não sabe, sou Lisboeta mas os meus pais são naturais de Viana, por isso, esta linda cidade fez parte importante da minha infância.



Cresci a adorar as festas da cidade, especialmente pelas iluminações e pelos fogos de artificio :D



Domingo à meia-noite encerra com a Serenata na ponte, um espectáculo de fogo de artificio que dá sempre prazer ver :D Este ano o vento não ajudou às fotos mas tentei filmar um pouco, uma recordação diferente para variar :)







Adoro isto!!! E quando os foguetes abrandam ainda dá para ouvir um pouco da musica portuguesa de fundo ;)
Agora preciso me actualizar por aqui, visitar os blogs, ler as novidades, responder às mensagens, vocês já sabem como é ;)

I was away for a few days, we went to Viana do Castelo :) (75km north)
I was hoping to go to the beach but the rain wasn't my friend! (not even to take photos :p) But we enjoy strolling in the city and we also had the agitation of the Sra da Agonia's feasts :)

For those who don't know, I'm from Lisbon but my parents were born in Viana, so this beautiful city had an important part in my childhood. I grew up loving the city celebrations, especially the illuminations and the fireworks :D

Sunday at midnight closes with the 'Serenade' on the bridge, a spectacular fireworks session that always gives pleasure to see :D This year the wind didn't help for the pictures so I tried to shoot a little, another way to save a memory :)
If you'd like to watch the videos, when the fireworks slows down, you can hear a bit of Portuguese music on the background ;)

Now I need to update around here, visit your blogs, read the news, reply to all my emails messages, you know the drill ;)

This weekend we went to Sameiro to eat an ice cream :) Here are a few photos so you can know one more little corner of Portugal ;)

Sameiro Sanctuary, located in Braga, is a late 19th-century domed church.
It's the second largest center of devotion in Portugal (after Fatima).

O fim-de-semana passado foi bem gostoso, com passeio em Viana do Castelo e um Sol bom para acompanhar! :)



Fotos da cidade vocês já viram aqui, já postei várias vezes. Hoje trago outra coisa para partilhar convosco, as tradicionais Minhotas :)



Bonequinhas tipicamente portuguesas, com o Traje de Lavradeira "Vianense" :)



E pela primeira vez encontrei um modelo de boneca de pano! :D

We spent last weekend in Viana do Castelo, luckily with sunny days :) I'm from Lisbon but my parents are from Viana, so I have a lot of family there! I've posted photos from the city in previous posts, so, today I bring something different to share with you, tipical dolls :)
These little girls are a portuguese ex-libris, their clothes are traditional costumes (in 3 colours: red, blue or green).
