Newton's Little 'uns Birth Sampler, Anchor NL13

E é mais uma estreia para mim, primeira vez que faço o Newton :) Outra personagem bem popular nas revistas de ponto cruz inglesas. Este pertence a um quadro de nascimento mas eu resolvi adaptar, gostei imenso do design e achei que encaixava bem na minha toalhinha com o seu viés amarelo :)

Três toalhas de banho prontas para o baby, só falta mais uma!

Ufffff!! Making bubble bath it's hard work, I almost added water just to make bubbles appear faster ;) LOL

And it's another first for me, first time stitch Newton :) Another popular character on UK cross stitch magazines. This one, actually belongs to a birth sampler but I decided to adapt, the design looked so cute and it would go along so well with my bath towel and it's yellow bias :)

Ainda falta mais um bocadinho para terminar o meu bordado!! =)
Este fim-de-semana bordei menos do que esperava, foi preciso dedicar umas boas horas a limpar e organizar depois... da pintura do quarto do baby :D

Não é propriamente fácil tirar uma foto a paredes vazias :p mas julgo que dá para se notar a diferença entre o tecto e as paredes.. conseguem ver um azul clarinho? Escolhemos um azul muito suave, algo entre o azul bebé e um azul acizentado, curioso que muda o tom com a iluminação :)



O passo seguinte é preencher o espaço! Na minha lista de compras estão mobílias branquinhas, peças simples, que vão ganhar cor com o enxoval bordado dos patinhos e mais algum decor =)

Still a bit missing to finish my stitching!! =) This weekend I stitched much less than expected, a good amount of hours were taken to clean and organize after... painting the baby's room :D

Not exactly easy to take photos of empty walls :p but I think it's noticeable the difference between the ceiling and the walls... can you see a light blue? We chose a very soft blue, somewhere between baby blue and grayish blue, it's curious how the tone changes with the lighting :)

Next step is to fill the space! My shopping list is all about white furniture, simple items that will gain color with my stitched set of ducks and some more decor =)

only good news!

Voltei a demorar um bocadinho para fazer um novo post aqui mas foi por uma boa causa =) Já me actualizei pela blogosfera e respondi a resmas e paletes de emails :p heheheh Ainda não esvaziei a caixa mas está quase :)

Agora tenho um 'ajudante' extra, depois de 3 semanas de ausência para reparação, o meu Blackberry voltou à sua dona :D Voltei a estar contactável com o mundo! eheheh E está como novo uhuuuuuu Há algum tempo que o touch screen não funcionava bem, já tinha saudades de ter a minha 'amorinha' comigo para facilmente responder aos emails ou aceder ao Twitter :D

Outra boa noticia é que a chuva finalmente deu um descanso, temos um pouco de sol quem vem ajudar para tirar fotos!! O que também promete muitos posts para os próximos dias ;)

Na sexta ia vos mostrar a toalha de banho que estou a bordar para o baby mas já estou tão pertinho do fim!! Será mais giro de ver quando estiver terminado ;) Não é outro ursinho mas é mais um daqueles gráficos onde o contorno faz toda a diferença! Só me falta preencher um pouco de branco e finalizar com o contorno, está mesmo pertinho do fim! :D

Again, it took me a while to make a new post here but it was for a good cause =) I've been catching up on your blogs and replying loads of emails :p heheheh Not an empty box yet but almost there :)

I have an extra 'helper', after three weeks of absence to be repaired, my Blackberry returned to his owner :D I'm in contact with the world again! eheheh And it's just like new uhuuuuuu A while ago, the touch screen stopped working properly, I missed having my 'little berry' helping me to easily read/reply emails or access Twitter at any time & anywhere :D

Another good news is that the rain is finally giving us a break, having some sunlight will help to take photos! You can expect many new posts this week ;)

Last Friday, I was going to show you the bath towel I'm stitching for my baby boy but now I'm so close to finishing it!! It will be more interesting to show you when it's done ;) It's not another bear but it is one of those designs where the backstitching makes a big impact! I just have some white to fill and then the backstitch, I hope to finish all today! :D

what has been on my mailbox :)

Uma daquelas semanas em que se chega ao dia de hoje e perguntamos: 'Quinta-feira?? Já?!? Como.. onde.. o que é que se passou?!' :p

Estes dias cinzentos e chuvosos também já se sentem mais curtos, para mim, os dias de inverno, não são tão produtivos como um dia de sol... Juntando isto ao nível de trabalho que aumentou e à minha baixa energia boicotada pela gravidez :p Digamos apenas que estou atrasada em.. tudo! Básicamente :)
Se estão a aguardar algum email meu ou têm sentido a minha ausência nos vossos blogs, não se assustem, em breve dou sinal!! Tem sido apenas falta de tempo, aos poucos vou recuperando o atraso ;)

Com a gravidez e o baby, continua tudo a correr bem, a barriga ainda cresce devagarinho :) mas já há novidades para contar.. em breve! hehehe Temos nome para o nosso baby boy, estamos a partilhar primeiro com a familia e em breve conto aqui também ;) Só têm de aguardar mais um pouquinho =)

De bordados conto-vos no próximo post, hoje tenho de agradecer os miminhos que têm chegado por correio :) Obrigada à Valérie e à Anne Doll que partilharam comigo kits do Tatty Teddy :D

One of those weeks when it comes to today and we ask: 'Thursday?? Already?!? How... where... what happened?!' :p

These gray and rainy days are also feeling shorter, to me, winter days are not as productive as a sunny day... Add this to the increase of work and the decrease on my energy boycotted by pregnancy :p Let's just say I'm late on... everything! Basically :) If you are waiting for an email reply or feeling my absence on your blogs, don't be scared, I'll get there soon!! I've just been short on time, I'll gradually catch up ;)

About my pregnancy and my baby , everything continues to go well, my belly is still growing slowly :) but I do have some news to tell... soon! hehehe Our baby boy has a name, we're sharing with our family first and soon I'll share here with you too ;) Just give a few days =)

About my stitching, I'll tell you on my next post, today I have to thank some gifts that have arrived on my mailbox :) Thanks to Valérie and Anne Doll who shared with me their Tatty Teddy kits :D

Thanks to Simone that, besides sending me beautiful fabrics, made ​​me laugh a lot with a mini pair of brazilian flip flops!! hahahaahah Of course it will take some years until our baby wears them but I believe it's the smallest size in the market :D

Thanks to Gislene who sent such sweet gifts for our baby too, an adorable Margaret Sherry stitching :) Unfortunately the lack of light didn't help on the photo, beautiful and such delicate pieces! Darling =)

Ufff! Este último Lickle Ted deu um pouquito mais de trabalho com todos os seus tons de castanho e bege :p Fiz o mesmo gráfico da babete mas desta vez sem lhe cortar o pescoço ;) eheheheheh

É verdade que dificulta um pouco bordar cores muito semelhantes ao tecido que estamos usar... mas os tons do ursinho combinam perfeitamente com a cor das peças e eu adoro isso! Set completo! :D



Phew! This last Lickle Ted gave me a bit more work with all his shades of brown and beige :p I stitched the same pattern I used for the bib but this time without cutting him by the neck ;) eheheheheh

It's true that it's a bit more difficult to stitch colors very similar to the fabric we are stitching on... but the shades on Lickle Ted blend so well with the color of the fabric, I just love how it looks! The set is complete :D

Mais uma peça terminada com o Lickle Ted, a fraldinha que faz pan-dan com a babete que já vos mostrei antes :) Terminei no fim-de-semana passado e comecei a peça maior.. o Lickle Ted maior!! :p Comecei a bordar na toalha de banho e já não falta muito, penso que irei terminar este fim-de-semana :D

Porque de vez em quando eu gosto de inventar, decidi fazer uma estreia para a minha troca de Halloween, um organizador de linhas! Em vez de um comum organizador de plástico ou cartão, porque não uma base de madeira com um bordado para a ocasião? :) Voilà:

Para finalizar a peça, um cordão - feito com as mesmas meadas da folhinha no topo da abóbora - e um pequeno pendente a cobrir o remate.



No verso, um toque de mestre que foi ideia do Rui heheheh A minha bonequinha gravada a laser na madeira :)

Once in a while I like to try new ways to finish my pieces, so, for my Halloween exchange, I decided to make my first thread holder! Instead of the usual plastic or cardboard organizer, why not make a wooden base and something stitched for the occasion? :)

I made a cord with 2 shades of green - the same I used to stitch the leaf on the top of the pumpkin - and I put a small charm to cover the ends.

On the back, a final touch of a master, Rui's idea heheheh My doll laser-engraved into the wood :)

meet Bia :)

É maravilhoso como admirar um bebé nos muda completamente o humor :) Ontem, depois do trabalho, fomos visitar a Bia :D O meu dia tinha sido muito chato, estava cansada e sem grande disposição para nada... até me distrair completamente com uma bebézinha linda no seu soninho bom =)

Não há nada melhor, especialmente quando é o bebé dos outros e não nos dá trabalho nenhum ;) LOL!!!!! Ainda não tinha mostrado nenhuma foto porque primeiro queria a autorização dos papás. Apresento-vos a Bia, no seu primeiro dia, quando a visitámos no hospital...



...a coisinha mais fofa ainda nas suas primeiras 24 horas de vida :)

It's amazing how admiring a little baby can completely change our mood :) Yesterday, after work, we went to visit Bia :D My day was pretty boring, I was tired and without much mood to do anything... until I totally got distracted by a beautiful baby girl in her precious nap =)

There's nothing better, especially when it's not your own baby, it's all fun and no work ;) LOL!!!!! I hadn't shown any photo yet because I was waiting for mom and dad green light. Meet Bia, on her first day at the hospital...
...the sweetest little thing still in her first 24 hours of life :)

Não esperava que este dia chegasse tão cedo, a notícia de que a Cathey perdeu a luta contra o cancro...

Só as bloggers conseguem realmente ter a noção de como fazemos laços tão fortes com pessoas que vivem geograficamente distantes. Verdadeiras amizades que crescem ao longo dos anos, cada uma é tão especial como qualquer amigo que vive ao nosso lado. Pessoas de quem nos lembramos para partilhar os momentos felizes, pessoas com quem nos preocupamos com todo o nosso coração quando algo não corre bem...

A Cathey será sempre uma amiga muito querida, para sempre ficará no meu coração. Hoje dou lugar às lágrimas mas amanhã vou relembrar com um sorriso os nossos longos emails, as conversas sobre tudo e mais alguma coisa, as coisas que aprendemos e ensinámos uma à outra. Não ficarei triste pela partida da minha amiga, sentir-me-ei feliz pelo dia em que os nossos caminhos se cruzaram, por ter tido a oportunidade de a conhecer, por ter feito parte da minha vida durante todos estes anos. Sou grata por ter partilhado tanto com uma pessoa tão maravilhosa ♥

I wasn't expecting this day so early, the news that Cathey lost her fight to cancer...

Only bloggers can really get a sense of how it's possible to make such strong ties with people living geographically distant. True friendships that grow over the years, each one is as special as any friend who lives next to us. People we remember when we have happy momments to share, people we care about with all our heart when something goes wrong...

Cathey will always be a dear friend, she will keep living in my heart. Today I leave room for tears but tomorrow I'll remember with a smile our long emails, our talks about all and everything, the things we learned and taught to each other. I won’t be sad because my friend is gone, I’ll feel happy for the day our paths crossed, for having the chance to know her, to have her in my life for so many years. I'm grateful to have shared so much with such a wonderful person ♥

Na última vez prometi que uma foto com os caracóis ao vento e agora estou de trança :p Desculpem mas está um óptimo dia de Verão por aqui, o Outono tirou férias esta semana ;) heheheh Um tempo tão bom que almoçámos ao ar livre e voltei a tirar uma foto no mesmo lugar da primeira :)

Toda a gente diz que a barriguinha ainda está pequena, acho que está a crescer para a frente! Consegue-se notar bem de lado mas nem tanto se estiverem à minha frente. Coisa de bebé menino, barriga cresce toda para a frente, não é mesmo? :p

Quero que chegue o dia em que vou voltar ao mesmo lugar, com uma barriga bem redondinha num dia de inverno! heheheh Vai ser giro de comparar as fotos mais tarde :D


#18 semanas #18 weeks

Last time I promised a photo with my curls blowing on the wind and now I'm here with a braid :p Sorry ladies, it's a hot Summer day over here, Autumn is out on vacation this week ;) heheheh Such a good weather that we had lunch outdoors and I took this photo at the same place as the first one :)

People say my belly is still small, I think it's growing all to the front! You can notice well on the side but not that much if you're in front of me. That's a boy thing, carrying all out front, right? :p

Looking forward to go back to that same spot, with a big baby belly on a winter day! heheheh It will be fun to compare photos later :D

first lickle ted :)

O fim-de-semana foi bem preenchido, com um aniversário na família e ainda o nascimento da Bia :) Entre fazer bolos e idas à maternidade, houve ainda comprinhas para o baby boy e (tentativa de) compras para a mamã que já precisa de uma roupinha que acompanhe o crescimento da barriga :p

É um tanto ou quanto complicado de encontrar umas calças para esta fase, em que a roupa habitual já não serve bem mas também a barriga ainda não está muito grande... Não sei se será igual em todo o lado mas, aqui em Guimarães, acho que há muita falta de opções para pré-mamã! Bom, encontrámos roupinhas giras para o baby, essa parte não é nada dificil!! :D

Ainda houve um tempinho para as agulhas, não muito mas o suficiente para terminar a peça mais pequenina :) A babete está pronta!



Esqueci de explicar a razão de apenas dois gráficos escolhidos para as 3 peças. Na verdade um dos gráficos repete, o Lickle Ted maior que irei bordar na toalha de banho é o mesmo da babete, apenas o rostinho do Lickle Ted :) A babete é muito pequenina, seria impossível bordar um ursinho inteiro...
... fui forçada a cortá-lo pelo pescoço!! :p LOL!!!

I had a full weekend, with a birthday on the family and the birth of baby Bia :) Between baking and visits to the hospital, there was still time for some baby shopping and (the attempt) to buy clothes for baby mamma too :p

The bump is growing and it hasn't been easy to find jeans for this stage of pregnancy, when the usual clothes no longer work but the belly is not very big yet... Don't know if it's the same everywhere but here, in the city I live in, I feel there's much lack of options for pre-mom clothes! Well, we did find a lot of cute outfits for our baby boy, that part was easy :D

A bit of the weekend was left for my needles and threads, not much but enough to finish the smallest piece :) The bib is done!

I forgot to explain why I had two patterns for the 3 pieces. Actually one of the patterns repeats, bigger Lickle Ted will be stitched on the bath towel and on bib, only the face :) The bib is very little, it wouldn't be possible to stitch an intire teddy bear... I was forced to cut him by the neck! :p LOL!!

Bia, the sweetest little thing =)

A pequenina já chegou :D A Bia, nasceu no sábado à noite com 3,400Kg... senão estou em erro :p Desculpem estava demasiado distraída com a bebé linda no meu colo, acho que a Ângela disse 3,400Kg enquanto eu babava a olhar aquela coisinha tão fofa =) Primeira vez que peguei numa bebé com menos de 24 horas e é a bebé mais bonita que já vi, um doce!! :)

Hoje não posso publicar fotos, talvez mais tarde, se tiver autorização dos papás. Mas posso mostrar os presentemos que recebemos da Annette :) Chegou uma encomenda com dois pacotinhos e ainda bem que eu leio os postais antes! hahahah Reparei que para mim era apenas um, o outro seria para entregar à Ângela. No meu pacotinho, além de duas lembranças com saborzinho holandês, um "óó" para o meu baby :)



Um bonequinho para dormir, feito pela Annette, que na altura ainda não sabia que seria menino e por isso fez branquinho =) Adorei! Branquinho fica um charme e vai contrastar na caminha azul ;) hehehheeh Muito fofo!!

Ontem entreguei à Ângela a versão cor de rosa, para a Bia, claro :D Annette, foi entregue na maternidade, no primeiríssimo dia de vida da pequenina! =) Amanhã, mamã e filha voltam para casa, eu vou esperar ansiosamente pelo próximo fim-de-semana para as visitar de novo :D

The little baby girl has arrived :D Bia, was born on Saturday night with 3,400 Kg.. if I'm not mistaken :p Sorry, I was too distracted by the beautiful baby on my arms , I think Ângela said 3,400 kg while I was drooling on the precious baby girl =) First time I saw a baby with less than 24 hours and she's the most beautiful baby I've ever seen, so sweet! :)

Can't publish photos today, maybe later, if I have the parents permition. But I can show you the gift we've received from Annette :) I opened the package and.. good thing I read cards first! hahahah Two gifts, only one for me, the second was for Ângela. I got two souvenirs from the Netherlands and one toy for my baby :)

A sleeping toy (don't know how to call it in english), handmade by Annette, before we found out I was having a baby boy so it's white =) I love it! Looks so charming in white and will contrast with the blue on the bed ;) hehehheeh Adorable!!

Yesterday I gave to Ângela the pink version, same toy for Bia, of course :D Annette, your gift was delivered at the maternity, on her first day of life! =) Tomorrow, mom and daughter return home, I'll be anxiously waiting for the weekend so I can visit both again :D

waiting for me this weekend!

Depois da maratona do fim-de-semana passado, a corrida contra o tempo para terminar os dois puppies :p hehhehe Segui-se um break nas agulhas.. esta semana não bordei nadinha de nada :p A semana começou cheia de trabalho, ao fim do dia o cansaço era muito e a preguiça q.b.! Só ontem consegui organizar os meus próximos wips, 3 peças para o baby :)

Este fim-de-semana tenho à minha espera o Lickle Ted :D



Escolhi os gráficos, tirei cópias das revistas, alinhavei nas peças e separei as linhas. Está tudo a postos para começar! :)

Também estou à espera da chegada de uma menina este fim-de-semana, a pequena Bia está quase a chegar =) Noticias em breve!!!

E vocês, o que têm à espera este fim-de-semana? :D

After last weekend's marathon, my race against time to finish those two puppies :p hehhehe My needles stopped, there was a break this week... I haven't made a single stitch :p Since Monday I've been too busy with work, at the end of the day I was too tired and lazy! Only yesterday I managed to start organizing my next wips, 3 pieces for my baby :)

This weekend I have Lickle Ted waiting for me :D

I chose the designs, made copies of the magazines, marked on the fabric and separated the needed threads. Everything is ready to start! :)

I'm also waiting a baby girl to arrive this weekend, little Bia will be here soon =) News to come!!!

Uff! Ainda bem que Outubro chegou pois eu passei o meu Setembro a correr :p Com tantas coisas que queria terminar, foi preciso um esforcinho extra.. e este último fim-de-semana foi uma verdadeira maratona com agulhas e linhas! Fiz o que já era praticamente impossível, terminei dois cachorrinhos para o SAL da Margaret Sherry e...

... FINITO!!!! :D Happy dance time! heheheh Ainda mal acredito que consegui realmente chegar ao fim do mês de Setembro com os SALs terminados :) Isto significa que nos próximos 3 mesinhos do ano... estou livre para bordar coisinhas de bebé e bebé e ainda mais bebé :D hahahaha

Uff! I'm glad October has arrived because I spent my September running :p With so many things I wanted to finish, it took an extra effort to make it happen... and this last weekend was a real marathon with needles and threads! I did the impossible, I stitched two puppies on my Margaret Sherry SAL and...

...IT'S DONE!!!! :D Happy dance time! heheheh I can barely believe that I actually finished my SALs until the end of September :) This means, for the next 3 months of the year... I'm free to stitch baby things and more baby and more baby :D hahahaha
