3 at home :)

OBRIGADA :) pela avalanche de mensagens que nos deixaram e pelo imenso carinho nas vossas palavras =) Incrível como já passou uma semana desde que o Lourenço chegou a casa! O tempo passa muito rápido quando estamos a cuidar de um bebé, entre amamentar e trocar fraldas, passamos o tempo a dar miminhos e a admirar o nosso pequerrucho :)



O nascimento do Lourenço estava planeado para dia 7, tínhamos cesariana agendada pois o meu pequenito não virou na barriga da mamã, preferiu esperar sentado! LOL Sabíamos desde as 33 semanas mas preferi não comentar para não falar sempre nisso, foi o meu modo de gerir um pouco a ansiedade e o receio de uma primeira cirurgia. Os dois estávamos bem, saudáveis e sem risco de preocupação mas... Eu nunca fui operada a nada, a expectativa mexe connosco. Preferi não me focar nisso e continuar a aproveitar a minha gravidez calmamente :) Tudo correu como planeado e no dia 7 foi o dia L :D A cesariana foi com a minha obstetra, que nos acompanhou ao longo de toda a gravidez, foi impecável junto com toda a equipa médica. A recuperação vai levar mais umas semanitas mas está a correr bem :)



Os primeiros dias são mais complicados para repor sono, recuperar do cansaço e apanhar o novo ritmo nos horários do bebé. Aos poucos conseguimos fazer mais coisas, como a simples tarefa de arranjar as unhas :p heheheh até passear :D Ontem o Lourenço foi pessoalmente agradecer os presentes que nos mandaram heheheh e começar a conhecer o mundo! Até foi à loja de lavores :D comprar mais umas fraldinhas de pano para bordar :)

Antes da ida para a maternidade, deixei preparada a decoração da casa para receber o Lourenço com as honras a que tem direito :D heheheh A coroa na porta da casa e uma grinalda de pompons pela escada :)

THANK YOU :) for the avalanche of messages you all sent and the load of affection in your words =) Amazing how a week has gone by since Lourenço came home! Time flies very fast when we are taking care of a newborn baby, between breastfeeding and changing diapers, we spend the rest of the day snuggling and admiring our little one :)

Lourenço's birth was planned for the 7th, we had a c-section scheduled because my baby boy didn't turn on mommy's belly, we preferred to wait sitting down! LOL We knew from 33 weeks, but I chose not to comment so I wouldn't always talk about it, it was my way of lowing the anxiety and fear of my first surgery. We were both well, healthy and without any risk of concern... but I never had any kind of surgery before, it shakes you a bit inside. I chose not to focus on that and continue to enjoy my pregnancy camly :) Everything went as planned and on Friday 7th was L-day :D For my c-section I had my obstetrician, who followed us throughout the pregnancy, she was impeccable along with the entire medical team. The recovery will take a few more weeks but it's going well :)

The first few days are trickier to catch up on sleep, recover from fatigue and get the new rhythm schedules with our baby. Gradually we start being able to do more things, like the simple task of doing your nails :p heheheh to strolling outside :D Yesterday Lourenço went in person to thank gifts sent to us heheheh and meet the world! He even went to my LNS :D we bought a couple of fabric diapers (burp clothes) to stitch :)

Before going to the hospital, I made special decorations to receive our baby boy with all the honors he's entitled to :D heheheh Baby wreath on the front door and a garland of pompons on the stairs :)

Day #3 wreath & tutorials

Há dois anos atrás fiz a minha primeira coroa e desde aí a porta da nossa casa nunca mais ficou 'despida'. A cada estação do ano, temos uma coroa decorada para a época :) Nem sempre nova, quando ficam em bom estado, guardo para o ano seguinte. Apenas refaço se a decoração se tiver deteriorado, o que normalmente acontece com a Primavera e o Verão, em que o Sol acaba por consumir as cores dos materiais expostos.

Seria de esperar que também fizesse uma coroa para esta época que tanto gosto, não era? Vários anos antes de começar a fazer as minhas coroas, comprei uma de Natal e tem sido presença constante todos os anos. Ainda não se degradou nada, nem mesmo pelo facto de estar do lado de fora da casa, o tempo de inverno ainda não deixou marcas :p E, por isso, não tenho razão para fazer outra, não sou capaz de me desfazer de uma peça fofa que ainda se encontra em óptimo estado. Em Dezembro de 2013, lá está ele, o nosso boneco de neve, a dar as boas-vindas a quem chega :D

Two years ago I made my first wreath and since then the door of our house is never 'naked'. Every season, we have our wreath decorated with a theme :) Not always new, if it's still in good condition, I save it for the next year. I just redo the decor if the weather has deteriorated it, what usually happens on Spring and Summer, when the sun eventually consumes the colors of the exposed materials.

You probably expect I would have an handmade wreath for this season that I love so much, right? Well, several years before starting to make my wreaths, I bought one for Christmas and it has been a constant presence every year. It hasn't deteriorated at all, not even by being exposed outside of the house, the winter weather hasn't made any damage yet :p So, I have no reason to make another, I can't throw away something so cute that still looks as new. December 2013, there it is again, our snowman, giving a warm welcome to everyone :D

What about your door, is it formally 'dressed' to welcome Santa? For those who need ideas, I leave you some suggestions and tutorials :)

Também conhecida por Plumeria, é uma das minhas flores favoritas :) Mesmo sem nunca lhe ter sentido o cheiro, conquista-me o olhar com as suas imagens.
Uma flor pequenina, muito simples e tão bonita =)



Decidi colocar frangipanis no meu jardim :D Qual clima tropical? Quem precisa disso? As minhas frangipanis são de baixa manutenção e dão-se bem com qualquer clima :D



Querer é poder ;) hehehe Bastaram uns pedacinhos de feltro, alguns alfinetes amarelinhos e q.b. de carinho para fazer estas pequeninas flores :)



Assim surgiu a inspiração para a minha última coroa. Simples, delicada mas cheia de cor e alegria para das as boas-vindas a quem entre na casa :D

Also known as Plumeria, is one of my favorite flowers :) Even if I've never smelled one, conquers my heart just by looking at the pictures.
A little flower, very simple and so beautiful =)

I decided to put frangipanis in my garden :D What tropical climate? Who needs that? My frangipanis are flowers of low maintenance and do well in any weather :D Will power ;) hehehe Only took a few pieces of felt, some yellow pins and a bit of love to make these little flowers :)

This was my inspiration for my latest wreath. Simple, delicate but full of color and joy to welcome everyone who enters the house :D

Easter wreath

Embora o mau tempo engane um pouco, a época dos coelhinhos está a chegar... já bateu na nossa porta :D



Remodelei a coroa de inverno, com um coelhinho em EVA que está à procura das cenouras... na direcção errada ;) heheheh Será que vai demorar muito tempo a perceber que não está à procura no sitio certo? :p

I remodeled my winter wreath, with an EVA foam bunny who's looking for his carrots... in the wrong direction ;) heheheh Will he take too long to realize that he's not looking in the right place? :p

winter wonderland on my door :)

Janeiro está a acabar, já só faltam 10 meses para a época de Natal!!
Mas quem é que está a contar? :p LOL

Ainda faltava mostrar aqui uma peça que fiz este mês, a coroa de Inverno que só chegou em Janeiro, quando arrumei a decoração de Natal. Já está na porta há bastantes dias mas não tinha tirado foto para vos mostrar, hoje lembrei-me!



A minha ideia inicial incluía flocos de neve recortados em feltro mas acabei por seguir outro caminho. Adorei a combinação do cinza, com o branco e um 'pózinho' de azul ;) Dá-me uma sensação de Winter wonderland! =) Resultado final: simples, fofa e com um certo charme :)

January is over, only 10 months until Christmas season!

I have one more piece made this month that I forgot to show here, my new winter wreath that took its place once the Christmas decorations was packed. It has been on my front door for a while but I hadn't taken a picture to show you, today I remembered!

My initial idea included snowflakes cut out of felt but I ended up following another path. I love this combination of gray, with white and a little of blue 'dust' ;) Gives me a feeling of Winter wonderland! =) Final result: simple and cute, plus charming :)

Autumn wreath

Há um ano atrás, fiz a minha primeira coroa :) Desde então, tenho feito uma para cada nova estação que chega. No final do Outono, retirei a base da coroa porque sujou com o tempo, mas guardei as flores em feltro, posso facilmente refazer quando quiser. Com o regresso da estação, ponderei colocar a coroa igual ou fazer um outro estilo, pegar numa ideia que ficou guardada no bloquinho de inspirações... Pompons!! :D



Queria fazer um mix com as cores das folhas no Outono, nem sempre se consegue as lãs nos tons que realmente queremos, depende da oferta que encontramos! Mas acho que consegui uma combinação gira com diferentes tons de castanho, verde e uma pitada de vermelho e laranja :D

Curiosas com a base? Comecei por fazer uma base em cartão e queria colocar os pompons num estilo meio bagunçado mas.. não resultou! Sou demasiado 'arrumadinha' hahahha Tive de procurar outra base e recomeçar... Ideias? Um bastidor de madeira :D Uma camada de pompons atados a cada parte, uma boa dose de paciência para juntar ambas as partes e fechar o bastidor... perfeito! Pompons alinhadinhos... ao meu estilo ;) hehehe

De qual gostaram mais? Acharam mais gira a coroa com flores em feltro de 2011 ou os pompons coloridos de 2012? :)

One year ago, I made my first wreath :) Since then I've done one to welcome each new season. When Autumn ended, I removed the base of the wreath but I kept all the felt flowers, I can easily remake it anytime. With the return of the season, I thought about using the same wreath or making a new one in a different style, grab an old idea from my inspiration board... Pompoms! :D

In my mind I was seeing a mix of colors from autumn leaves... we can't always find the shades of yarn that we really want, depends on the offer for sale! But I think I got a cute combo with different shades of brown, green and a glimpse of red and orange :D

Curious to know what's in there for the base? I started by making a cardboard base and I wanted to place the pompoms in a messy style but... it didn't work! I'm too 'organized' hahahha I had to find another base and start over...
Ideas? A wooden hoop :D A layer of pompons tied to each part, a good amount of patience to join both parts and close the hoop... Perfect! Pompoms all lined up... my own style ;) hehehe

Which wreath do you like best? 2011 felt flower wreath or 2012 colorful pompoms? :)

Summer, I missed you :)

O Verão chegou e chegou em força, sol e calor no seu melhor :) Ainda bem porque o meu jardim já não aguentava mais estas mudanças de temperatura e céu sempre cinzento (nem eu!!) Para dar as boas-vindas à estação, uma nova coroa a decorar a minha porta :D



Cobri com linha branca para fazer a base e enchi de cor no feltro. Poderia ter feito flores maiores mas gosto mas das coisas pequeninas e delicadas.. também sou pequenina :) hehehhe

Ainda não terminei de visitar todos os blogs do IHSW, vou a meio da lista e já deu para perceber que muitas foram as pessoas que nada bordaram nesse fim-de-semana :p De qualquer modo, é agradável conhecer novos blogs e ver tantos trabalhos bonitos espalhados pela blogosfera :)

A minha Gorjuss continua a avançar...

Summer arrived in full strengh, sun and heat at its prime :) I'm glad because my garden can't take more of these constant changes in temperature and sky always gray (neither can I!!) So, to welcome the season, a new wreath decorating my front door :D

Covered with white yarn to make the base and strong colors on the felt. I could have done bigger flowers but I prefer a more delicate look, I like tiny things... I'm tiny too :) hehehhe

I haven't finished visiting all IHSW blogs, half the way on the list and I noticed there were many people who didn't stitch a thing during that weekend :p Anyway, it's nice to find new cross stitch blogs and see so many pretty works all around the blogosphere :)

There's progress on my Gorjuss girl! She has a dress :)

Oh! Spring, how I missed you =)

Já vi que os coelhinhos fizeram sucesso :D hehehe Obrigada por todas as palavras simpáticas, eles ficaram envergonhados com tantos elogios :p LOL
Respondendo a algumas questões, os meus coelhos têm 9cm de largura por 12cm de altura. O link original não tinha nenhum molde disponível, se alguém quiser o que eu fiz, podem pegar aqui :)

E o que é que estava a faltar para dar as boas-vindas à Primavera?

A posição do sol a esta hora não ajudou muito à foto! As cores na coroa são azul, rosa e branco, no topo apenas branco e rosa. Para o passarinho e para as flores, utilizei o mesmo feltro dos coelhos, continua tudo em tons pastel :)



Tenho de dizer que o passarinho ficou a coisa mais amorosa porque na porta baloiça com o vento =) hehehe Não foi de propósito mas ficou muito giro!!! :D



Agora sim, a Primavera está aqui!! :D

Now, what was missing to welcome Spring? A wreath on my front door :D
The position of the sun at this hour didn't help my photos! The colors on the wreath are blue, pink and white, on top just white and pink. For the little bird and for the flowers, I used the same felt from the bunnies, still all in pastel :)

I have to say that my little bird is the most adorable thing because he swings heheheh Wind makes him swing =) It was not on purpose but it turned out to be really cute! :D

All is ready, Spring is here! :D

we blinked and February is here!

Parece que piscámos o olhos no Natal e Janeiro voou! O tempo já passava mais devagar, não concordam? E Fevereiro chegou com chuva e ainda mais frio (quem imaginava que ainda era possível mais frio?!!), pelos vistos a chuva faz falta, em Portugal houve muito pouca precipitação até agora. Não é que eu me importe com a falta mas os jardins e as hortinhas precisam, a fruta e os legumes agradecem! Tudo tem o seu lado positivo... só para o frio é que eu ainda não descobri o lado bom da coisa... hum... não sei.. um dia chego lá :p

Vocês sempre comentam que as minhas agulhas trabalham muito ehehehhe que faço muitas coisas... eu acho mesmo que não! Este mês só terminei a Bluebell (que já estava mais do que bordada no ano passado) e fiz o inicio do Halloween Rules, mais nada! Mas no fim estou contente por conseguido pelo menos fazer isso, sabia que tinha um mês de muito trabalho, estes eram os meus únicos objectivos para Janeiro, foi à tangente mas consegui :)

Ainda nos crafts mas não na área dos bordados, fiz uma coroa de Inverno, já foi há dois fins-de-semana atrás mas ainda não tinha postado aqui :p Ponderei se valia a pena guardar a coroa de Outono mas acho que no próximo ano vou preferir fazer uma nova :) Por isso, retirei as flores (que vou guardar para o caso de querer fazer a mesma ou aproveitar para outra decoração na casa) e aproveitei a base para a nova coroa.



Foi só 'vestir-lhe' uma camisola aos losângulos :D hehehe

It seems that we blinked our eyes at Christmas and January is gone! Time should fly a little slower, don't you agree? And February arrives with rain and lower temperatures (who could imagine that it would be possible to be even colder?!!), apparently rain is needed in Portugal, we had very low precipitation so far. Not that I care with the lack of water falling down but the gardens need it, fruit and vegetables are grateful! Everything has its positive side... I just can't figure out the good side for this cold... hum... I don't know.. one day I'll get there :p

You always comment that my needle works a lot ehehehhe that I stitch many things... I really don't think so! This month I only finished Bluebell (which was mostly stitched last year) and started Halloween Rules, nothing else! But in the end I'm glad that I at least managed to do these two, I knew I had a month of hard work, these were my only goals for January and it was a close call :)

Speaking about other crafts besides stitching, two weekends ago I made a Winter wreath but I hadn't posted it here yet :p I pondered whether it was worth keeping my Autumn wreath but I think next year I will prefer to make a whole new one :) So, removed the flowers (which I'm keeping in case I want to do the same again or use them for another decoration in the house) and used the base to make my new wreath. With little pieces of felt I made a diamond sweater :D hehehe

Let's welcome February!! Happy February to you!! :D

boas-vindas oficiais :)

Há bastante tempo que andava com vontade de fazer uma coroa para a minha porta da entrada. Dar um pouco de personalidade à frente da casa ;) Nada como a chegada do Outono para deixar a inspiração bater à porta! :D



Comecei na quinta-feira... a pensar que terminava no mesmo dia! hahahah Foi a piada da estação!! :p Só no Sábado terminei de enrolar toda a lã em torno da coroa, para no Domingo completar com as rosinhas de feltro :)





Nesta jornada tenho de agradecer à Mollie, do blog Wild Olive, pelo seu post com paletes de meadas em cores outonais :) Foi o seu Pumpkin Spice Latte que me lançou na escolha das cores para a minha coroa, com a DMC 920 e 3776 cruzei a coroa e com a DMC 938 920 e 676 tentei aproximar o feltro. Adorei!

I've been willing to make a wreath for my front door for a long time! Give a bit of personality to the front of the house ;) Nothing like the arrival of Autumn to let the inspiration knock on the door! :D

I started on Thursday... thinking that I would finish it in the same day! hahahah That was the joke of the season! :p Only on Saturday I finished wrapping all the yarn around the wreath, on Sunday I embellished it with felt roses :)

On this journey I have to thank Mollie, from Wild Olive blog, for her post with fall floss palettes :) It was the Pumpkin Spice Latte that gave me the choice of colors for my wreath, I used DMC 920 and 3776 to cross the wreath and DMC 938 920 and 676 to try to match the felt colors. Loved it!

Oh yes! Now it's the official welcome to Autumn! :D
