Por aqui, Janeiro tem nos brindado com frio, muito frio! Depois do Natal, tive finalmente oportunidade de começar a fazer algumas peças de inverno...

... fiz alguns modelos de luvas sem dedos, que nos mantêm as mãos quentinhas sem tirar total liberdade de movimento para continuar a trabalhar, teclar, clicar no telemóvel... ;)

... fiz um cachecol para o Lourenço, com dois bolsos para levar os carrinhos e que faz de pista portátil, para brincar em qualquer lado quando sai de casa ;) Digam lá, não é uma ideia super gira para fazer sorrir qualquer menino? :D

Around here, January has arrived with cold, very very cold weather! After Christmas, I finally had the chance to start making some winter pieces...

... I made a couple of models of fingerless gloves, to keep our hands warm without taking full freedom of movement to work, type, click on the phone... ;)

... and I made a scarf for my little man, with two pockets to carry his cars and a portable track, to play anywhere when he goes out ;) Tell me, isn't this a super cool idea to make any little boy happy? :D

best handmade project... ever! :)

Lembro-me tão bem do dia em que a Annette me mostrou um link com uma ideia tão fixe para um menino, uma pista de carrinhos em... crochet! Logo na hora, achei fantástico! Sabia que seria algo que teria de fazer mais tarde para o meu pequeno (isto foi há uns aninhos atrás!).

No ano passado, pelo segundo aniversário do Lourenço, adivinhem o que comecei?

Claro!!! :D O play mat em crochet!!

Como todos os meninos, o meu pequenito sempre adorou os seus carrinhos. Já tinha um pista de carros e outra de comboios mas... esta era única e especial :)

Um brinquedo feito pela mamã ♥ uma experiência sensorial e também um brinquedo portátil! Facilmente se dobra, vai na mochila para as viagens de carro, para as consultas no médico - ninguém leva as pistas de plástico para lado nenhum ;) hehehehe

Foi muito giro de fazer cada quadradinho, ter o Lourenço ao meu lado todo curioso "É para mim, mamã?" :) Viu-me fazer os bloquinhos e já brincava com eles antes mesmo de estarem unidos. Além do entretenimento, as diferentes texturas são uma actividade sensorial para os mais pequeninos :) O Lourenço já brincou muito com esta pista e, agora com 3 aninhos, continua a ser um dos eleitos nos momentos de brincadeira :D

Pode parecer um projecto longo mas, na verdade, cada bloco leva entre 2 a 3 horas para completar. Claro que poderá ser feito com tantos blocos quantos quiserem! Eu optei por manter a versão portátil, fácil de levar para qualquer lado ;) mas já vi algumas mega-pistas feitas por várias crafters! Se tiverem curiosidade, espreitem o grupo no FB.

I remember so well the day Annette showed me a link with this cool idea for a little boy, a car track toy... made in crochet! I loved it, I thought it was fantastic! I knew it would be something I would have to make later for my little one (this was a few years ago!).

Last year, when Lourenço was turning two, guess what I started? Of course!!! :D The crochet play mat!!

Like all boys, my little man has always loved his toy cars. He had a car track and another train track too but... this one was unique and special :)

A toy made by Mommy ♥ a sensory experience and also a portable toy! Easily folds up, goes in the backpack for car trips, doctor's appointments - no one takes the plastic tracks anywhere ;) hehehehe

It was awesome to make each little square, to have Lourenço by my side always curious "Is it for me, Mommy?" :) He watched me make the blocks and he played with them before I even joined them all together. Besides the entertainment, the different textures are a sensory activity for the little ones :) Lourenço has played a lot with his play mat and now, with 3 years old, it's still one of his favorites for the play time :D

It may seem like a long project but, in fact, each block takes between 2 to 3 hours to complete. Of course it can be done with as many blocks as you want! I chose to keep the small portable version, easy to take anywhere ;) but I've seen some mega-tracks made by several crafters! If you're curious, take a peek on this FB group.

...a bit of knitting...

Os meus dias são cheios! O meu coração está ainda mais cheio!!! :D
O meu pequenino ainda ocupa bastante tempo, está a crescer mas continua a precisar de muita atenção, cuidados e miminhos =) Junto vem a brincadeira, os sorrisos que me derretem o coração =))) É muito bom vê-lo crescer!

Temos dias em que ficamos a cuidar das cólicas, outros em que passeamos e fazemos workshops para bebés :) Mas sobre isso conto-vos noutro post, antes quero continuar a vos mostrar os crafts dos últimos 2 meses. Obrigada pelos vossos comentários nas fraldinhas :) Peças muito simples mas é o que dá para fazer naquelas primeiras semanas depois da passagem pela maternidade ;)



Finalmente terminei o contorno da minha primeira mantinha, que estava feita desde Fevereiro :p Segui as indicações da D.Fernanda (da loja de Lavores), que me ensinou a fazer a manta em crochet e o contorno em tricot. Fazia tempo que não colocava os meus dotes de tricoteira a funcionar :)



Ainda aprendi um pequeno detalhe para fazer, com o fio prata, em ponto caranguejo. Experimentei mas optei por deixar assim, achei que mais simples ficava mais delicado também. Fica a ideia para outra mantinha no futuro :)



My days are full! My heart is even more full!!! :D
My baby boy still takes much of my time, he's growing but still needs a lot of attention, care and cuddle =) Along comes the fun, playing, the smiles that melt my heart =))) It's wonderful to see him grow!

Some days we need to take care of his tummy aches, others we stroll and we go to workshops for babies :) But I'll tell you about that in another post, before I want to continue showing you my crafts from the past 2 months. Thanks for your comments on the burp clothes post :) Very simple finishes but it's what we can do on those first couple of weeks after the hospital ;)

Finally, I finished the edging on my first baby blanket, which was made since February :p I followed all the indications by D.Fernanda (seller on my LNS), who taught me to make the blanket in crochet and the edging in knit. My chance to put my skills as a knitter up to work :)

I also learned a small detail to add, with the silver silk yarn, crab stitch. I tried but I chose to leave it like this, I thought it was simpler this way but also more charming. I'll save the idea for another blanket in the future :)

Fiquei contente por ler comentários onde dizem que gostam de seguir os meus posts mesmo quando não há grandes fotos de wips para mostrar :) É bom saber que vos entretenho com as minhas aventuras :D hehehe

Foi mesmo este fim-de-semana que terminei a mantinha, já não faltava muito, estaria pronta mais cedo se não tivesse perdido aqueles primeiros dias da semana que passou :p Terminei ontem e ainda vou a tempo de fazer o contorno antes do baby nascer ;) hahhahaha



Já sabem que nestes dias de chuva é complicado mas tentei tirar uma foto que vos mostrasse bem o pontinho na manta. Falta finalizar com um contorno à volta, um pormenor apenas para dar um acabamento :) Ainda estou em dúvida com duas ideias, preciso treinar um bocadinho e ver qual faço melhor ;)



Por agora já estou bastante satisfeita por ver a mantinha assim :D É uma peça que requer o seu tempo (e também a minha estreia!) mas que eu queria muito fazer =) Estou feliz com o resultado!! :D

This past weekend my blanket came to an end, it wasn't missing much, if only I hadn't lost that time in the first days of the week :p I finished it yesterday and there's still time to make the edge before my baby arrives ;) hahhahaha

As you know, these rainy days are not "picture friendly", I tried to do my best to show you the stitches on the photos above. Now, I'm in doubt between two ideas for the edge, it's just a little detail around for a nice finish :)

I'm quite pleased to see my main blanket done :D It's kind of a project that requires a good amount of time (also my first attempt!) but I really wanted to do it =) I'm so happy with the result!! :D

February... how did that happen?! :p

Wooowww! Os meus dias têm voado :p No meio do nosso horário de trabalho, temos de encaixar as consultas médicas, os exames de rotina da gravidez, as aulas de preparação para o parto... Se 24h já são poucas para um dia, nem vos conto o que me pareceram as minhas últimas duas semanas! :p

Agora sim, estou a um mês da chegada do baby boy =) Preciso de outra foto com um update da barriguinha, não é? Tarefa para os próximos dias ;)

Curiosas em saber do progresso da minha mantinha? :D
Com excepção de sexta-feira - em que estava exausta da semana inteira -, a manta foi crescendo um bocadinho mais a cada dia. Como estava ontem...



...num dia de sol há-de sair uma foto de cores mais bonitas ;) hehehe Para quem ainda não tinha visto, estou a usar lã branquinha e fio prata acetinado. Ora bem, dependendo do que ainda fizer hoje, acho que termino segunda ou terça-feira :))) Vou passar o resto da tarde a dar às agulhas!! :D

Wooowww! Days have been sneaking up on me :p Between our working schedule, we have to fit doctors appointments, pregnancy routine exams, labor and birth classes... If 24h are not enough in a day, I won't tell you how short these last two weeks have been! :p

Now it's the real countdown, starting the final month to my baby boy's arrival =) I need another baby bump update photo, right? Task for this week ;)

Anyone curious to know about my baby blanket progress? :D
With the exception of Friday - I was too exhausted from the busy week I had -, my blanket has grown a little more each day. Above you can see how it looked yesterday... on a sunny day I'll show you the real colors ;) hehehe For those seeing for the first time, it's white baby wool with silky silver yarn. Well, depending on how much I'll be able to make today, I think I'll finish Monday or Tuesday :))) I'll spend the rest of the afternoon hooked! :D

weekend progress :)

Ri-me bastante com o comentário da Bruna no meu post último :D Disse-me que se já meti na cabeça que ía terminar a mantinha, então, segunda-feira estaria feita :p LOL É bem verdade que sou assim, quando estou determinada é para terminar mesmo ;) Mas também é verdade que os dias não tiveram horas que chegassem para fazer tanto! hehehe De certo que parte da minha falta de experiência, é a primeira mantinha que faço =) com a prática talvez seja mais rápida mas para começar temos de ir devagar para fazer bonito :)

O meu objectivo são 75 linhas de comprimento para a mantinha, claro que, chegado a esse ponto, terei de confirmar se está na medida ;) Parece que ainda estou longe de chegar ao fim mas fiquei contente com o resultado do fim-de-semana, levando em contas as horas que trabalhei na mantinha, acho que foi um bom progresso :)

Agora, o progresso vai depender do quanto fizer ao longo desta semana. Se conseguir fazer mais algumas linhas em cada noite, de segunda a sexta-feira... se não começar nenhum bordado pelo meio :p hehehehe Mais umas 20 linhas no fim-de-semana seguinte e na próxima semana devo ter a mantinha pronta para o contorno final.. será?? Cenas para ver nos próximos capítulos ;)

I laughed a lot with Bruna's comment on my last post :D She said that if I had my mind set to finish my baby blanket then it would be finished by Monday :p LOL It's true, that sounds pretty much like me when I'm determined to finish something ;) But it's also true there weren't enough hours in the day to make it happen! hehehe It may be for my lack of experience, it's my first blanket =) with practice I might get faster but now I must go slowly to make it pretty :)

My goal is 75 rows long, of course, once I get there, I need to measure and check if it's good ;) Looks like I'm still far from reaching the end but I was very happy with the outcome of the weekend, considering the hours of work I had, I think it was a good progress :)

Now, progress will depend on how much I can get done along the week. If I'm able to make a few more rows each night, Monday through Friday... if I don't start stitching anything in between :p hehehehe Adding more 20 rows next weekend... and I think I will have the blanket ready to make the edge next week... will I? Scenes to watch on the coming chapters ;)

first baby blanket :)

O meu baby boy já tem várias mantinhas mas faz tempo que eu andava com vontade de fazer uma, um modelito especifico que vi na loja de lavores, onde habitualmente compro os meus materiais.

Esta semana, fiz uma pausa no ponto cruz e tirei duas noites para pegar na agulha de crochet. Assim começou uma nova aventura :D A primeira lição que aprendi... é que isto demora a crescer :p LOL Estou a fazer uma mantinha de 60x75cm, podem ver o inicio na foto...



... que tem apenas 6cm de altura hehehe
Será que no fim-de-semana consigo dar-lhe um sério avanço?? :)

My baby boy has several blankets already but for a long while I've been willing to make one, a spefic scheme I saw on my local needlework shop, where I usually buy my supplies.

This week, I took a break on my cross stitch and spent two nights with the crochet hook. Thus began a new adventure :D First lesson learned... it takes too long to grow :p LOL I'm making a small blanket with 60x75cm, on the photo above you can see the start...

... which has only 6cm height hehehe
Will I be able to make a serious progress this weekend??? :)

pumpkins for Cathey

Tenho de começar por deixar um agradecimento colectivo! Obrigada por todas as palavras simpáticas e tão queridas que nos deixaram nos últimos posts :D Repararam no plural? Já agradeço por mim e pelo meu baby boy :D

Temos um evento especial! Hoje, a blogosfera reúne-se postando muitas abóborinhas para a Cathey, a.k.a. Pumpkin, no seu blogversário :) Simbolizam uma mensagem de apoio e a nossa forma de lhe enviar-mos todo o nosso carinho!! Esperamos que lhe aqueça o coração, que lhe dê uma lufada de energia e ainda mais força para esta luta que tem enfrentado.



Fiz várias abóboras além das que estão na foto acima, algumas seguirão mesmo viagem para a Cathey :) Outras serão presentes e outras ficarão na minha casa a decorar um cantinho com 'cheirinho a Outono'. O que vocês ainda não viram, é que as abóboras maiores, são na verdade...

First, I have to send a collective thanks! Thank you all for your kind and sweet words left to us on my recent posts :D Did you notice the plural? I'm getting used to speak for me and my baby boy :D heheheh

We have a special event! Today, the blogosphere is posting many pumpkins for our friend Cathey, a.k.a. Pumpkin, on her blogversary day :) This symbolizes a message of support and our way of sending her all our love! Hopefully it will fill her heart, give a new load of energy and even more strength to her on this fight she is facing.

I made more pumpkins besides those on the photo above, some will really go meet Cathey :) Others will be gifts and others will decorate, with an Autumn 'scent', a little spot in my house. What you didn't know from the first pic, is that the larger pumpkins are actually...

In love with 'amour' :)

Como vocês já repararam, o Verão traz mais movimento por aqui, esta energia solar é potentissima! Hehehe os meus crafts andam divididos entre o ponto cruz e o crochet, um pouco de um, um pouco do outro e as peças vão crescendo :)

Quando aprendi a fazer crochet, comecei com agulhas acrílicas, além da vantagem do preço acessível, achava a maior graça às cores :) Cada tamanho tem a sua cor, fácil de identificar e quando estão juntas dá gosto olhar aquele arco-íris =) Mas para o amigurumi precisava de agulhas melhores e mais cómodas, optei pelas Clover Soft Touch, as minhas preferidas... até ontem :p

Na semana passada descobri outra gama da Clover, as agulhas de crochet Amour :)



Juntaram-me o melhor dos 2 mundos :D São ainda mais cómodas que as Soft Touch e com a festa de cores das agulhas acrílicas! :D Não sei há quanto tempo existem mas só encontrei online, não resisti em encomendar uma! Fiquei curiosa para experimentar e ver a diferença, se valia a pena a qualidade da agulha ou se eram apenas bonitas :p Ontem testei com vários tipos de fios e a única coisa má que posso dizer... É que não tenho os tamanhos todos!!! Hahahaha mais uma 'colecção' que terá de aumentar :D

Quem mais é que tem uma colecção de agulhas de crochet, de todos os tamanhos e feitios? Serei caso único? :p

As you may have noticed, Summer brings more action here, this solar energy is very powerful! Hehehe My crafts have been divided between cross stitch and crochet, a little of one, a bit of the other, pieces are growing :)

When I learned to crochet, I started with acrylic hooks, besides de advantage of the low price, I always loved the colors :) Each size of hook has its own color, easy to identify and a fun rainbow to look when all hooks are together =) But for amigurumi I needed better quality and more comfortable hooks, I chose Clover Soft Touch, my favorite kind.. until yesterday :p

Last week I discovered another range by Clover, the hooks Amour :)

They have joined the best of two worlds :D Even more comfortable than Soft Touch hooks and with the fun colors just like the acrylics! :D I have no idea since when these hooks have been for sale, I could only find them online. Had to buy one! I was curious to try and see the difference, whether it was worth the quality of the hook or if they were just pretty :p Yesterday I tested with different types of yarn and the only bad thing I can say is... I don't have all the sizes!! Hahahaha Another 'collection' that will have to grow :D

Who else has a collection of hooks, of all shapes and sizes?
Am I an isolated case? :p

Quando agradeci os vossos comentários nos sapatinhos de bailarina, mencionei que tinha outro modelito ainda mais fofo para mostrar, recordam-se? O que vos mostro hoje foi o sapatinho mais giro que vi até ao momento :)



Não é ainda mais fofo?? =) Estou curiosa para saber as vossas opiniões!!
São estilos bem diferentes, este é mais trabalhado na frente e também usei algodão em vez de lã, o sapatinho ganha muito mais estrutura assim. Vou testar o mesmo com lã, logo vos mostro as diferenças ;) O esquema comprei pelo Etsy e depois deste já comprei outros que estão à minha espera :D Só falta tempo! hehehehe

Both very different styles, this one is ribbed on the front and I made it with cotton instead of wool, gives much more structure to the shoe. I'll make the same with wool, then I'll post to show you the difference ;) The pattern I bought on Etsy and after this I bought a few more that are waiting for me :D

A Primavera portou-se muito mal connosco mas o Verão é que sabe como isto funciona, se é para dar calor que sejam logo 30ºC ou mais :p Paraíso.

Ontem terminei mais um cachorrinho, o meu SAL da Margaret Sherry está oficialmente a meio! O que é perfeito pois também está a terminar metade do ano no caléndário :) É o Verão em força, é o meu mês favorito a chegar, há como não gostar desta época do ano? :D

Como ainda não tirei foto do bordado, hoje mostro-vos um bocadinho de crochet. É um bocadinho mesmo, uma coisinha pequenina =)



Uns sapatinhos de bailarina para 3 meses de idade :D
De um modo geral, prefiro trabalhar com fio de algodão mas, tendo em conta a época de inverno, optei por usar lã para estes sapatinhos. Mais adequado para o tempo de frio, não acham? :)



No fim-de-semana posto fotos dos bordadinhos ;) Agora vou tentar responder às resmas e paletes de emails :p Esta manhã actualizei-me pela blogosfera mas não posso dizer o mesmo da minha caixa de email... medo!!! LOL

Spring behaved very badly with us but Summer knows better, if it's time to warm up let the temperature rise up to 30º C or more :p Heaven.

Last night I finished another puppy, my Margaret Sherry SAL is officially on half the way! Which is perfect because the year is also half the way on the calendar :) It's Summer in full strenght, it's my favorite month coming, how could I not love this time of year? :D

I don't have a stitching update photo yet, so today I'm showing you a bit of crochet. It's really just a bit, a little finish =) hehehe Ballerina booties on 3 months size :D In general, I prefer to work with cotton yard but, thinking ahead on the winter season, I chose to use wool for these shoes. More suitable for babies during the cold weather, right? :)

This weekend I'll post more update photos ;) Now I'll try to reply the overload of emails that are waiting for me :p This morning I was up to date on my blog reading but I can't say the same about my inbox... it's a scary place! LOL During the next 2 days you'll hear from me ;)

play and fun! :D

Depois do meu LK '6 Fat Men' terminado, a pergunta geral foi sobre qual seria o próximo projecto. A parte engraçada foi ver o seguimento com outra pergunta-resposta: 'Gorjuss?' :D LOL Sim!!! Agora estou liberada para terminar a 'parede'!!! Só faltam mais 4 meninas :)

Mas antes disso, preciso de espairecer um pouco, foi um longo trabalho de bordado :p Dediquei-me a terminar os gordinhos e estava com saudades de outras coisas, como crochet e amigurumi. No último post mostrei-vos a botinha que fiz no fim-de-semana, é tão pequenina que não vale a pena fazer o par, só para bonecas! hehehe Tem 6 cm de comprimento, talvez um tanto ou quanto pequenina... até para um recém-nascido :p


A Kokeshi só veio para a pose na foto, já foi feita no ano passado ;)

Vou tentar fazer o mesmo modelito num tamanho acima, talvez com outra agulha de crochet já resulte bem :) Também preciso procurar uma grelha de tamanhos, acredito que haja pela web várias tabelas de tamanho/meses. Se alguém conhecer uma boa referência, podem partilhar, eu não me importo ;)

Faz tempo que queria tentar fazer este granny square com uma margarida...



... já idealizo uma mantinha tão bonita! :) Gostei!

E ainda - sim, há mais uma coisinha :D - um alfineteiro, já muito popular, acredito que tenham visto vários nas mais diversas cores! Fiz a minha versão...

Uma terça-feira sorridente para vocês!!!

After my LK '6 Fat Men' finished, many friends asked me about what will be my next project. The funny part was the question-reply following: 'Gorjuss?' :D LOL Yes! Now I'm free to complete the 'wall'!! Only missing 4 more girls :)

But before that, I need to relax a little, it was a long stitching work :p I devoted all the time I could to those chubby guys and I was longing for other crafts, like crochet and amigurumi. In my last post I showed you a baby bootie I made on the weekend, it's so small that it's not worth making the pair, just for dolls! hehehe It has 2.4 inches long, maybe a little small... even for a newborn :p - My kokeshi above was made last year, she just come to pose in the picture ;)

I'll try to do the same pattern but one size up, perhaps with a bigger crochet hook will be enough :) I also need to find some sizes tables, I believe there are plenty on the web, with size/months. If anyone knows of a good reference, feel free to share, I won't mind ;)

For some time I wanted to try to make a daisy square granny... it's so easy! And I can see a beautiful blanket on my mind :) I like it!

And - yes, there's one more thing :D - a popular pincushion, I believe you've seen several of these in many colors! I made my version... with a smile :D

Parece que no próximo fim-de-semana teremos uma chuvita a cair por aqui, enquanto não chega, há que aproveitar bem os dias de sol ;) No Sábado o tempo bom convidou-nos a almoçar no jardim :) Estava tão agradável que lá passamos a tarde toda, até o sol começar a querer fugir.

Peguei um cestinho, umas lãs, a agulha de crochet e...
... hora de inventar! :D haahhah



Recordam-se das aulinhas de crochet que fiz em Outubro? Já estava a precisar de praticar um bocadito :) A minha vontade de aprender a fazer crochet era mesmo para criar coisas úteis e engraçadas para a casa e, também, para uma outra vertente que vos hei-de falar mais tarde ;)

Na net encontramos as mais variadas ideias, actuais e coloridas, nada das rendas e naprons de antigamente hehehhe Ter a liberdade de pegar nas lãs e criar algo que temos na ideia.. é muito gostoso :D



Eu tenho uma aversão muito particular.. aos pratos para os vasos!! LOL
Não sei explicar o porquê, simplesmente nunca gostei de pratos para vasos, em vez disso acabo por colocar um vaso dentro de outro decorativo.
Para os meus narcisos, decidi fazer uma cobertura diferente :)



E com isto passei a minha tarde!! :D ehehehehe Não sei se é algo que agrade a toda a gente mas eu adorei, fica tão giro na minha cozinha =)

O fim de dia foi para terminar de bordar um presente e no Domingo estava mais fresco por isso fiquei com a minha máquina de costura. A fazer o quê? Mostro-vos amanhã noutro post ;) hehehe Boa semana para todos!! :D

Looks like we will have some rain next weekend so we must enjoy these sunny days while it last ;) On Saturday the good weather invited us to have lunch ouside, in the garden :) It was so nice that we stayed there the whole afternoon. I grabbed a basket, a few colors of wool, a crochet hook and...
... it was time to create! :D hahaha

Remember the crochet lessons I did in October? It was about time I practice a little bit :) My desire to learn to crochet was really to create useful and fun things for the home - and also for something else that I will tell you later ;)

On the web we find so many pretty ideas, current and colorful, nothing to do with doilies and that kind of stuff hehehhe The freedom to pick some wool and create something that we have in mind... it's just awesome :D

I have a very peculiar aversion... to dishes for pots! LOL I'm not sure if this has a different name in english, we just called it dishes. I can't explain why, I never liked to see dishes under the pots, instead I end up putting a pot inside another decorative pot. For my daffodils, I decided to make it a little different, with color and fun :) And with that I spent my afternoon! :D ehehehehe I don't know if it's a style that pleases everyone but I loved it, looks so cute in my kitchen =)

The end of the day was to finish stitching a gift and on Sunday the weather was a bit cooler so I stayed inside with my sewing machine. Doing what? I'll show you in another post tomorrow ;) hehehe A great week to all! :D

.: Sew a lot of pink fabric squares! ;)

.: Stitch one more block on Christmas Rules :)
One glass of milk and cookies coming out for Santa! Lol

.: Learn how to make granny squares :D
When I bought this wool, I told you that I was willing to learn new things, remember? I decided to improve my crochet skills :p More about this in another post ;)
