sending Spring to Australia :)

Há umas semanas atrás contei-vos que tinha alguns segredos guardados,
peças que fiz e que tinham de aguardar a chegada ao destino. Uma das surpresas já atravessou o globo até à Austrália! :D



Fiz uma caixinha para a Noni :)
Com o tema da estação que-não-se-quer-mostrar (Primavera!! hehheeh) procurei algo bem fofo para bordar e no interior recheei com flores de vários tipos e cores :) Gostei especialmente dos nózinhos franceses, achei tão giros e ainda mais em amarelo destacaram-se bastante :D



Foram esses nózinhos que me deram a ideia para a lateral da caixa, pintar bolinhas a formar flores ;)



E está um segredo revelado! :D

A few weeks ago I told you I had some secrets to keep for a while, things that I finished but had to wait for them to arrive to their destination. One of those surprises crossed the globe to Australia! :D

I made a box for Noni :) With the theme of the season that-won't-stop-hiding (Spring!! Hehheeh) I picked something cute to stitch and inside filled with flowers of different kinds and colors :)

It was fun to stitch those French knots, I really like them and with the yellow color it pops out even more :D Those knots gave me the idea to decorate the sides of the box, painting dots to shape flowers ;)

And one secret is out! :D

looks like Spring caught the flu...

Parece que a Primavera se constipou...
... temos chuva, frio, ventos fortes, até neve em alguns sítios! O Inverno foi tão rígido que até a Primavera ficou gripada :p E isto tudo junto no que dá?? Num fim-de-semana preguiçoooooso heheheh

O tempo não convidava a sair por isso bordei e bordei muito :) As cores que faltavam no dia lá fora, estavam todas no meu tecido e nas minhas meadas, ficou bem colorido e alegre! :D



Os designs da Barbara Ana são sempre assim! Uma alegria de bordar :)
A foto poderia estar melhor mas a falta de luz natural não colaborou :p O tecido é tingido, cor Rosewood, recebi da Cathey há bastante tempo, estava guardado para fazer algo especial :) A trama é bastante pequenina, equivalente ao linho lilás 36ct do meu bordado anterior ;) Para terem uma ideia, este bordado tem apenas 6cm de largura por 10cm de altura, pequenino para tantos pontinhos :)

E com esta mudança constante do tempo, resta-nos passar a semana a admirar os arco-íris no céu :D Boa semana para vocês!!!

The weather wasn't inviting to go out so I stitched and I stitched a lot :) The colors missing outside, were all on my fabric and on my threads, a very colorful and cheerful design! :D Barbara Ana's designs are always so fun! :)

The picture could be better but the absent of sunlight didn't cooperate :p The fabric is dyed, color Rosewood, I got it from Cathey a while back, I was saving it to make something special :) Quite small count, equivalent to the 36ct lilac linen I used on my previous LK ;) Just to give you an idea, this stitching has only 2.4in wide by 3.9in high, so tiny for so many xxx :)

And with this constant change of weather, we can only spend the week admiring the rainbows in the sky :D A great week to all!

a bit of April :)

Gostei de ver as vossas apostas no bordado que escolhi começar :D Acho que qualquer dia faço como a June, mostro um pedacinho do bordado e deixo-vos a descobrir qual será! hehehe Acertei uma vez e ganhei uma linda linha com a brincadeira :D Claro que agora não dá para fazer isso, já vos revelei o que farei este mês, só não sabiam a ordem :p O primeiro palpite foi certeiro! Comecei pelo 'A bit of April' da Lizzie Kate :)



Não sei porquê mas este coelhinho estava a chamar o meu nome =)
O tecido é linho 36ct, Edinburgh da Zweigart. Como vos contei antes, quero fazer várias peças para colocar juntas num cestinho, decidi usar telas 36ct para ficarem mais pequeninas e fofas :) Bordei com linhas DMC mas usei branco em vez da cor 712, para sobressair mais o coelhinho sobre o fundo lilás ;)

Falta decidir como finalizar, vou pensar um pouco mais nisso e entretanto bordar a segunda peça. A maioria dos palpites foi para o Welcome Spring, será esse o seguinte! Vocês escolheram por mim ;) ehehhe

I started with 'A bit of April' by Lizzie Kate :)

I don't know why but this bunny was calling my name =) The fabric is 36ct linen, Edinburgh by Zweigart. As I told you before, I want to make a few different finishes to put in a basket, I decided to use 36ct fabric to end up with cute and tiny pieces :) Stitched with DMC threads but I used white instead of 712, I wanted the bunny to pop out on the lilac background ;)

I'm not sure how I will finish this one yet, I'll think a little more about it but meanwhile I'm starting another one. Most of your bets were on Welcome Spring so that's next!! You chose for me ;) ehehhe

This post sounds more like Easter than Spring, right? Here's a little taste of Spring: pictures from the exchange that Mr. Postman brought to me from Italy :) We had a little swap on Margaret Sherry's Fan Blog, Laura sent me a needlebook :) I love this design, I've stitched it too but into something completely different (remember the frame set I made for my craft room?)

Oh! Spring, how I missed you =)

Já vi que os coelhinhos fizeram sucesso :D hehehe Obrigada por todas as palavras simpáticas, eles ficaram envergonhados com tantos elogios :p LOL
Respondendo a algumas questões, os meus coelhos têm 9cm de largura por 12cm de altura. O link original não tinha nenhum molde disponível, se alguém quiser o que eu fiz, podem pegar aqui :)

E o que é que estava a faltar para dar as boas-vindas à Primavera?
Uma coroa na minha porta de entrada :D



A posição do sol a esta hora não ajudou muito à foto! As cores na coroa são azul, rosa e branco, no topo apenas branco e rosa. Para o passarinho e para as flores, utilizei o mesmo feltro dos coelhos, continua tudo em tons pastel :)



Tenho de dizer que o passarinho ficou a coisa mais amorosa porque na porta baloiça com o vento =) hehehe Não foi de propósito mas ficou muito giro!!! :D



Agora sim, a Primavera está aqui!! :D

Now, what was missing to welcome Spring? A wreath on my front door :D
The position of the sun at this hour didn't help my photos! The colors on the wreath are blue, pink and white, on top just white and pink. For the little bird and for the flowers, I used the same felt from the bunnies, still all in pastel :)

I have to say that my little bird is the most adorable thing because he swings heheheh Wind makes him swing =) It was not on purpose but it turned out to be really cute! :D

All is ready, Spring is here! :D

Passou mais uma semana de trabalho, entre postar no blog, acompanhar os vossos blogs e responder a emails.. não sobrou tempo para bordados! Mas fui procurando algumas ideias, estou a pensar seguir a sugestão das Lesleyanne e fazer um cestinho de Primavera :) Um cestinho com algumas peças de diferentes acabamentos... ideias no ar, ideias no ar!

Por acaso ambos têm coelhos mas não foi de propósito hehehe

Happy morning! Happy weekend to everyone!! :D
Another week of work is gone, between posting on the blog, following your blogs and replying to emails... no time left to stitch! But I've been looking for some ideas, I'm picking Lesleyanne's suggestion to make a Spring basket :) A basket with a few different finishes... ideas flowing and flowing!

I chose my favorite designs, pictures above :) Both have rabbits but that was not on purpose hehehe Pure coincidence! Anyone would like to share other cute suggestions with me? :D

sewing Sunday :)

Então vocês já não sabiam o que eu tinha para costurar no Domingo? A minha almofada com o gatinho da Primavera! Ora pois :D hahahah Não havia grande segredo aqui ;) O que faltava era tirar fotos para postar hehhehe



Há uns dias atrás, estava a ler o blog da Carol e para não variar fiquei encantada com as almofadinhas lindas, como sempre faz! :D Uma delas tinha uma fita ondulada a combinar com o tecido e a minha mente começou logo a magicar heheheh Podia fazer o mesmo para as almofadas dos gatinhos (serão quatro ao todo), a ideia é usar uma estampa diferente para cada estação e posso também colocar uma fita, cada uma com uma cor a combinar com o respectivo tecido e daí surgiu a ideia para a fitinha lilás :)



Na verdade não é uma almofada propriamente dita, é uma fronha :)
Foi a primeira vez que inventei de fazer uma fronha mas acho que vale a pena o trabalho, assim poderei facilmente retirar para lavar quando apetecer ;)
Para o interior fiz uma almofada com tecido também lilás.



Primeira almofada pronta :D Agora vamos ver se consigo encontrar tecidos para as próximas estações! :p Julgo que o mais difícil será para o Outono... tenho na ideia um padrão pequeno, algo com folhas em cores outonais..



Alguém conhece lojas lojas online onde possa encontrar estampas pequeninas e bonitas para o Outono? Todas as dicas serão bem vindas!! :)

So, you no longer knew what I had to sew on Sunday?
My Spring cat pillow! Of course :D hahahah No big secret there ;) I was just missing the pictures to post hehhehe

A few days ago, I was reading Carol's blog, delighted with all the pretty little pillows, like she always makes! :D One detail in particular caught my attention, a ric rac ribbon to match the fabric, it was so lovely... my mind soon began to ruminate heheheh I could do the same on my pillows (I will make four), the idea is to use a different fabric for each season and I can also add a ric rac, each one with a color to match the respective fabric! And from there I picked the idea to sew the lilac ribbon :)

Actually it's not a pillow, it's a pillowcase :)
First time that I've tried to make a pillowcase but I think it's worth the work, this way we can easily remove to wash whenever we want ;) For the inside I made a pillow with lilac fabric too.

My Spring pillow is done :D
Now let's see if I can find some fabrics for the next seasons! :p I think the hardest will be for Autumn... I have a small pattern in mind, something with leaves in autumn colors... Anyone knows online stores where I can find tiny and pretty fabric prints for Autumn? All tips are welcome! :)

IHSW from start to finish

Vocês sentiram a Primavera a querer dar um olá este fim-de-semana? :D



Ontem o dia esteve tão bom que até se pode dizer que estava quente!
Quente! :) heheheh Enquanto o Rui cuidou da relva e colou no sitio as cadeiras e a mesa (que estavam arrumados por causa do tempo mais ruim de Inverno), eu fiz uma nova receita para o almoço, coloquei um bolinho de iogurte no forno e arrumei a cozinha. Além do cheirinho a bolo, estava-se bem com as portas abertas - a nossa casa não tem janelas, só grandes portas de vidro - a sentir o ar quentinho lá de fora :) No fim fomos comprar umas florzinhas novas para o jardim :D Isto é que foi um Domingo com qualidade hehehehe





Mas antes já tinha terminado o meu gatinho...



.. quase que terminava a peça final se não me faltasse uma fitinha que teimei em colocar :p Mas a ideia já está em execução, em breve mostro-vos ;)



E como acontece em todos o inícios de semana, há muitos bloguinhos para visitar, toneladas de emails por responder :p O habitual ;) heheheh

Did you feel it? Did you feel Spring saying hello this weekend? :D
Yesterday the weather was so good that we can actually say that it was warm!
Warm! :) Heheheh While Rui took care of the grass and put in place the chairs and table (which were storaged because of the bad winter weather), I made a new recipe for lunch, put a yogurt cake in the oven and cleaned up the kitchen. Besides the smell of cake in the air, it was so nice to have the doors open - our house has no windows, only large glass doors - and feel the warm air coming in :) In the end we went to buy some new little flowers for the garden :D This is how I like to spend a quality Sunday hehehehe

But before I had stitched my Margaret Sherry kitten, from start to finish :)
I almost made my final piece, if only I wasn't missing a ribbon in the color I wanted :p But the idea is already in progress, I'll show you soon ;)

And as it happens at every new week, I have many blogs catch up, tons of emails to reply :p The usual ;) heheheh A great week to all! :D
