best handmade project... ever! :)

Lembro-me tão bem do dia em que a Annette me mostrou um link com uma ideia tão fixe para um menino, uma pista de carrinhos em... crochet! Logo na hora, achei fantástico! Sabia que seria algo que teria de fazer mais tarde para o meu pequeno (isto foi há uns aninhos atrás!).

No ano passado, pelo segundo aniversário do Lourenço, adivinhem o que comecei?

Claro!!! :D O play mat em crochet!!

Como todos os meninos, o meu pequenito sempre adorou os seus carrinhos. Já tinha um pista de carros e outra de comboios mas... esta era única e especial :)

Um brinquedo feito pela mamã ♥ uma experiência sensorial e também um brinquedo portátil! Facilmente se dobra, vai na mochila para as viagens de carro, para as consultas no médico - ninguém leva as pistas de plástico para lado nenhum ;) hehehehe

Foi muito giro de fazer cada quadradinho, ter o Lourenço ao meu lado todo curioso "É para mim, mamã?" :) Viu-me fazer os bloquinhos e já brincava com eles antes mesmo de estarem unidos. Além do entretenimento, as diferentes texturas são uma actividade sensorial para os mais pequeninos :) O Lourenço já brincou muito com esta pista e, agora com 3 aninhos, continua a ser um dos eleitos nos momentos de brincadeira :D

Pode parecer um projecto longo mas, na verdade, cada bloco leva entre 2 a 3 horas para completar. Claro que poderá ser feito com tantos blocos quantos quiserem! Eu optei por manter a versão portátil, fácil de levar para qualquer lado ;) mas já vi algumas mega-pistas feitas por várias crafters! Se tiverem curiosidade, espreitem o grupo no FB.

I remember so well the day Annette showed me a link with this cool idea for a little boy, a car track toy... made in crochet! I loved it, I thought it was fantastic! I knew it would be something I would have to make later for my little one (this was a few years ago!).

Last year, when Lourenço was turning two, guess what I started? Of course!!! :D The crochet play mat!!

Like all boys, my little man has always loved his toy cars. He had a car track and another train track too but... this one was unique and special :)

A toy made by Mommy ♥ a sensory experience and also a portable toy! Easily folds up, goes in the backpack for car trips, doctor's appointments - no one takes the plastic tracks anywhere ;) hehehehe

It was awesome to make each little square, to have Lourenço by my side always curious "Is it for me, Mommy?" :) He watched me make the blocks and he played with them before I even joined them all together. Besides the entertainment, the different textures are a sensory activity for the little ones :) Lourenço has played a lot with his play mat and now, with 3 years old, it's still one of his favorites for the play time :D

It may seem like a long project but, in fact, each block takes between 2 to 3 hours to complete. Of course it can be done with as many blocks as you want! I chose to keep the small portable version, easy to take anywhere ;) but I've seen some mega-tracks made by several crafters! If you're curious, take a peek on this FB group.

Depois de um ano inteiro com apenas dois posts neste blog... está na hora de mudar o header da caixinha! O nosso dia-a-dia: bebé traquina que nunca pára, a mamã passa o tempo a correr atrás dele e o papá faz que manda ;) LOL

Antes da mudança para Lisboa, tentámos tirar fotos junto à 'nossa' árvore - recordam-se das minhas fotos da gravidez? - a ideia era gira mas quem diz que as crianças pequeninas colaboram quando queremos? :p Estas foram as melhores fotos que saíram!





Não é mais um bebézito, está um menino crescido, muito activo e brincalhão, sempre a fazer asneira :p Todos dizem que é a cara do papá mas tem os caracóis da mamã :D


After a year with only two posts on this blog... it's about time I change the header on my little pixie box! Our day-to-day: a toddler that never stops, mommy spends her time running after him and daddy thinks he's the boss ;) LOL

Before moving to Lisbon, we tried to take pictures next to 'our' tree - remember my pregnancy monthly photos? - it was a fun idea but who says toddlers are cooperative when we want? :p Above, the best photos that came out!

No longer a tiny baby, he's a little man, very active and playful, always making a mess :p Everyone says he has daddy's face but has mommy's curls :D

WOW! Será possivel que passaram mais de dois meses desde o meu último post?! Não imaginava parar o meu bloguito por tanto tempo mas não há duvida que foi por um motivo de força maior ;) heheheh Um bebé em casa muda completamente os nossos dias, por mais que estejamos preparados, a realidade ainda é muito mais láááá em cima :p hahahaha

Não tenho feito mais nada senão aproveitar cada dia, apreciar cada momento a ver o meu baby boy crescer :D E não há melhor!! Ainda não me fartei de nada heheheh As cólicas foram substituídas pelas dores dos dentes a querer nascer, cresce a cada dia e pesa cada vez mais no colinho! Chego à noite exausta :p Mas todos os dias são recheados de alegria, coisas novas que aprende e sorrisos que continuam a derreter o meu ♥ =) Não quero perder um minuto porque o Lourenço não volta a ser pequenino como era ontem :) hehhehe

Quero manter o meu blog sobre crafts por isso que não faço posts e posts sobre o baby boy :p Mas tenho feito algumas coisinhas, num ritmo muitoooo mais lento, é verdade... eu volto para vos mostrar ;)



WOW! More than two months since my last post, is it possible?! I never imagined I would stop blogging for so long but there's no doubt it was for a very strong reason ;) A baby at home completely changes our days, no matter how much prepared we were, reality is much more aboooooove :p hahahaha

I haven't done anything else but enjoying each day, appreciate every moment watching my baby boy grow up :D Is there anything better?? I'm not tired of it yet heheheh Colics were replaced by teething, he grows every day and he's getting heavier to cuddle too! At night I'm exhausted :p But every day is filled with joy, learning new things and smiles that still melt my ♥ =) I don't want to miss a minute because Lourenço will never be as little as he was yesterday :) hehhehe

I want to keep my blog about crafts that's why I'm not making posts and posts about our baby boy :p But I've been making things, in a much slower pace, it's true... I'll be back to show you ;)

Não me faltam novidades para fazer posts diários aqui no blog mas, de um jeito ou de outro, o tempo acaba sempre por se escapar :p Já estou atrasada com o update do meu Jingles SAL e ainda não é hoje que sai! Adorei os bordados, adorei até a forma como a Daniela combinou as letrinhas com o Fuzzy Moon na babete :) Não costumo bordar babetes assim, com tanto quadrilé para preencher, já aprendi com a Daniela a fazer um exemplo bem bonito :D Todo o conjunto está muito - muiiiiitoo - fofo =)

A Daniela faz bordados por encomenda, para aquelas pessoas que não sabem fazer ponto cruz - ou até sabem mas não têm tempo - deixo-vos a dica, os seus bordados são perfeitinhos :)

No meu último post escrevi que a vida é melhor com chinelinhos de praia, ora cá estão mais uns para os meus passeios de Verão! Mais giro ainda é que o baby boy também terá uns chinelinhos na mesma cor da mamã :D heheheh

I love the stitching, I love how Daniela combined the letters with Fuzzy Moon on the bib :) I don't usually stitch on this kind of bib, with so much Aida to fill, Daniela just taught me how to make something really pretty :D The whole set is soooooo adorably cute! =)

Daniela stitches by order, for those who don't know how to cross stitch - or don't have the time for it - I leave you a hint, her stitching is perfect :)

On my last post I wrote that life is better in flip flops, here I have another pair to stroll around during summer! And the cutest thing: my baby boy has another pair in the same color as momma :D heheheh

...a bit of knitting...

Os meus dias são cheios! O meu coração está ainda mais cheio!!! :D
O meu pequenino ainda ocupa bastante tempo, está a crescer mas continua a precisar de muita atenção, cuidados e miminhos =) Junto vem a brincadeira, os sorrisos que me derretem o coração =))) É muito bom vê-lo crescer!

Temos dias em que ficamos a cuidar das cólicas, outros em que passeamos e fazemos workshops para bebés :) Mas sobre isso conto-vos noutro post, antes quero continuar a vos mostrar os crafts dos últimos 2 meses. Obrigada pelos vossos comentários nas fraldinhas :) Peças muito simples mas é o que dá para fazer naquelas primeiras semanas depois da passagem pela maternidade ;)



Finalmente terminei o contorno da minha primeira mantinha, que estava feita desde Fevereiro :p Segui as indicações da D.Fernanda (da loja de Lavores), que me ensinou a fazer a manta em crochet e o contorno em tricot. Fazia tempo que não colocava os meus dotes de tricoteira a funcionar :)



Ainda aprendi um pequeno detalhe para fazer, com o fio prata, em ponto caranguejo. Experimentei mas optei por deixar assim, achei que mais simples ficava mais delicado também. Fica a ideia para outra mantinha no futuro :)



My days are full! My heart is even more full!!! :D
My baby boy still takes much of my time, he's growing but still needs a lot of attention, care and cuddle =) Along comes the fun, playing, the smiles that melt my heart =))) It's wonderful to see him grow!

Some days we need to take care of his tummy aches, others we stroll and we go to workshops for babies :) But I'll tell you about that in another post, before I want to continue showing you my crafts from the past 2 months. Thanks for your comments on the burp clothes post :) Very simple finishes but it's what we can do on those first couple of weeks after the hospital ;)

Finally, I finished the edging on my first baby blanket, which was made since February :p I followed all the indications by D.Fernanda (seller on my LNS), who taught me to make the blanket in crochet and the edging in knit. My chance to put my skills as a knitter up to work :)

I also learned a small detail to add, with the silver silk yarn, crab stitch. I tried but I chose to leave it like this, I thought it was simpler this way but also more charming. I'll save the idea for another blanket in the future :)

Os tempos em que eu fazia 10 bordados num só mês... já eram :p
É claro que o meu baby boy será mais independente no futuro, eu poderei bordar mais mas, mesmo assim, sei que não será como antes :) E porquê que o digo com um sorriso? Porque menos tempo com as agulhas quer também dizer: tempo com o meu bebé :D Aceito muito bem a troca ;) hehehe

Agora a minha aspiração é ser como a Annette, uma mamã que faz mil coisas para os seus filhotes :D Ouviste bem Annette, quero ser como tu ;) Daqui a uns anos vou bordar dinossauros ou motivos de futebol heheheh por enquanto ainda continuam as coisas fofas e meiguinhas para bebé :)

Quando o Lourenço tinha uma semana, fomos pela primeira vez à loja de lavores, comprei duas fraldinhas para bordar e escolhi motivos que já estavam na minha lista de preferidos. A ideia é fazer duas almofadas, como sugerido na revista (Cross Stitcher) mas achei que também resultavam bem aqui :)



Depois de receber o presente da Marcinha, tive de experimentar a patch colagem e fiz mais duas fraldinhas :D Tenho mais motivos recortados mas ainda não houve oportunidade para costurar :p



Tenho mais um pouco de ponto cruz para vos mostrar mas, como o tema é diferente, deixo para outro post ;)

Of course, my baby boy will be more independent in the future, I'll be able to stitch more but, even so, I know it won't be like before :) And why do I say it with a smile? Because less time with the needles also means: spending time with my baby :D I can take that exchange with pleasure ;) hehehe

Now my aspiration is to be like Annette, a crafty Mom who does a thousand things for her kids :D Annette, you heard me well, I wanna be like you ;) In a few years I'll be stitching dinosaurs or football designs heheheh For now I'm still enjoying the cute and lovely baby things :)

Lourenço was only one week old when we made our first visit to the needlework store, I bought two burp clothes to stitch and picked a couple of patterns from my to-stitch list. The idea is to make two pillows, as suggested in the magazine (Cross Stitcher) but I thought it would also work out pretty well here :)

After receiving Marcinha's gift, I had to try the patch collage and sewing, made ​​two more burp clothes :D I have more fabric pieces ready to sew but there wasn't a chance to finish it yet :p

There's more cross stitch to show you but, since it's on a different theme, I'll leave it for another post ;)

baby boy met grandma :)

Para quem nunca soube estar parada sem fazer nada... tenho-me surpreendido! Sou capaz de passar duas horas quieta enquanto o meu bebé dorme no meu colo, feito conchinha contra o meu peito =) Mas quando as malvadas das cólicas atacam, tiram o sossego ao meu pequenito e a mamã passa o dia a dar miminho, a tentar consolar o bebé e amenizar as dorzinhas.
E assim os dias passam, em que não se faz mais nada de produtivo :p mas não contem a ninguém ;) hehehe

Os últimos posts foram para agradecer os presentes lindos que recebemos =) ainda não vos contei do nosso fim-de-semana de Páscoa, a primeira viagem do baby boy :D Com apenas seis semanas, já foi conhecer Viana do Castelo e foi conhecer a avó que veio de Lisboa para o ver pela primeira vez :)

Todo enroladinho porque estava muito vento. A mantinha é uma das muitas feitas pela avó, antes do Lourenço nascer :) O que me lembra que também tenho de fazer um post com os presentes feitos pela avó ;)

For someone who was never able to stay still and do nothing... I've been surprising myself! I can spend two hours just holding my baby while he sleeps, spooning against my chest =) But when the evil tummy aches attack, there goes the quiet sleep and mommy spends the time cuddling her baby, trying to ease the pain and make my baby boy feel better. And so the days go by, I don't do anything more or productive at all :p don't tell anyone ;) hehehe

The last couple of posts were to thank the beautiful gifts we've received =) I haven't told you about our Easter weekend, baby boy's first trip :D With only six weeks, he went to Viana do Castelo and met Grandma, who came from Lisbon to see him for the first time :)

All wrapped up on his blanket because it was very windy. This blanket is one of the many handmade ​​by Grandma, before Lourenço was born :) Which reminds me that I also have to make a post with all the gifts handmade ​​by Grandma ;)

Mais presentes! É verdade :) desta vez, uma caixinha direccionada ao Lourenço com todo o charme francês =) Temos recebido presentes lindos, temos sido inundados por pacotes de fofura!!! Mas o que tenho para vos mostrar hoje... é de fazer o queixo cair no chão! Quem faz pontos cruz irá apreciar bem o carinho e as horas dedicadas a este presente...

Não há nada que consiga mostrar o quanto estas páginas são especiais ♥ Tenho guardado todos os postais junto com um álbum do Lourenço, para mais tarde recordar :) claro que esta cartinha será guardada com todo o carinho e, um dia, também o Lourenço irá ler =)

More gifts! :) It's true :) This time, a package arrived with my baby boy's name and all the French charm =) We have received beautiful gifts, we have been overwhelmed by packages full of cuteness!!! But what I have to show you today... will make your jaw drop on the floor! Those who stitch will appreciate very well the amount of affection and hours devoted to this gift...
...A baby blanket all handmade by Valérie =))))

Such a big piece it's not easy to take photos :p I put it on the crib so I could show you the whole blanket, every little stitched square is a delight! Even the corners, look, isn't it the most adorable thing?? :)

Valérie has this magic power to leave me speechless! Saying thanks it's not enough to all this amount of affection and dedication =) You can see better pictures on Valérie's blog, a close up to each stitched square and the detail on the fabric :) Read her post, I assure you it's very cute :D

And it doesn't end here! ;) Besides the cute feet shaped candles, there was also a letter, not to me but to my baby boy =) A long letter that tells how Valérie met mommy, also speaks about the making of his gift and it's overflowing with affection... There's nothing that can show how much these pages are special ♥ I've saved all the cards along with an album for my baby, to remember later :) This letter will also be saved with all my love and one day Lourenço will read =)

Tenho mais algumas fotos do quartinho do baby boy, presentes que já viram no post anterior. Estava à espera de um dia de sol para as fotos mas a Primavera não anda a colaborar =/ (É suposto o tempo melhorar amanhã.. será?)



A Annette fez esta peça em feltro, perfeita para o quartinho do meu pequerrucho =) Desde a palete de cores - cinza, azul, branco e amarelo - aos elementos escolhidos - Nuvens, estrelinhas, ursinhos e patinhos! Adoro!!
E onde foi esta peça colocada?



No topo do bercinho :) Digam lá se não se enquadra perfeitamente com a decoração e o ambiente do quartinho =)



Outra novidade do Lourenço é o seu baloiço :) onde relaxa quando tem dorzinhas de barriga e até adormece ao som das musiquinhas =) Obrigada pelas dicas que vão deixando nos vossos comentários, toda a informação é bem-vinda e muito útil para nós ;)

I have a few more pictures of my baby boy's room, gifts you've seen on my previous post. I was waiting for a sunny day to take pictures but Spring hasn't been our friend =/ (the weather is supposed to get better tomorrow.. will it?)

On the first image you can see a gift made by Annette, a perfect piece for my baby boy's room =) Starting with the palette of colors - gray, blue, white and yellow - to the chosen elements - clouds, stars, bears and ducks! Love it!

And where have we placed it? Right at the top of the crib :)
Now, tell me, doesn't it fit perfectly in the room =)

Something else new, Lourenço's swing :) where our baby can relax when his tummy hurts and he even falls asleep to the sound of the baby music =) Thanks for the tips and advices that you all leave us on your comments, all information is welcome and very helpful for us ;)

Cuidar de um recém nascido muda-nos completamente o dia, a noite, tudo :p São os pequeninos que ditam as regras, os nossos horários e o tempo que nos deixam para fazer outras coisas! Estou a amamentar o nosso baby boy que bebe o seu leitinho em intervalos de 2-3 horas, ou seja, descontando o tempo de amamentar, trocar a fralda, embalá-lo um pouquinho.. sobram 1-2 horas para cuidar da casa, da roupa, de mim :) Mas o Rui também ajuda, sempre que está em casa, divide comigo as tarefas: a mamã dá o leite, o papá troca a fraldinha, a privação de sono é dividida entre os dois :p LOL

O nosso pequenino está a crescer, em 3 semanas já notamos que está maior e mais gordinho :) Até começámos a separar a roupinha que deixa de servir!
É um sortudo este pequenino, está sempre a receber presentes :D já recebeu alguns antes de nascer e os pacotinhos continuam a chegar :) Agradeci todos por email mas vou agradecer mais uma vez aqui ♥ Sei que ainda há mais miminhos a atravessar o globo, não se preocupem, quando chegarem com certeza que nos farão sorrir =) Obrigada a todas!!

Nursing a newborn totally changes our day, our night, everything :p These little guys are the ones who dictate the rules, our schedules and the time they allow us to do anything else! I'm breastfeeding, our baby boy drinks his milk in breaks of 2-3 hours, so, if you take the time to feed, change diaper, cuddle him for a while... I'm left with 1-2 hours to clean the house, do the laundry, take care of myself :) But Rui helps too, when he's at home he shares tasks with me: mommy feeds, daddy changes the diaper, sleep deprivation is shared between the two of us :p LOL

Our baby boy is growing, with only 3 weeks and we can notice him getting bigger and chubby :) We even started to put aside clothes that won't fit anymore! He's a lucky little boy who's always receiving gifts :D Got a few before birth and packages continue to arrive on the mail :) I've thanked everyone by email but I'll thank once again here ♥ I know there are more treats crossing the globe, don't worry, whenever those arrive, will make us smile for sure =) Thanks to everyone!!
