Sempre fui fã destes bonequinhos da DMC, todos os anos surgem novos modelitos e eu já tinha 3 faz tempo :p Além do ursinho do último post, tenho outro ursinho polar com uma mochila às costas (onde está o espaço para bordar) e um patinho que faz pan-dan com o set que bordei ;) heheheh



Já tenho o peluche do ursinho com o nome por isso procurei algo diferente. Achei gira a ideia de pegar um motivo do esquema dos patitos (podem ver um exemplo no metro da foto abaixo). Ainda ponderei acrescentar uma ou duas estrelinhas mas numa peça tão pequena acabava por ficar muito cheio.
Fiquei-me apenas pelo barquinho, simples mas amoroso :)



Agora preciso procurar outra ideia para o ursinho polar =)

I've always been a fan of these DMC soft toys, each year new ones come along and I had 3 bought a while ago :p Besides the teddy bear on my last post, I have another polar bear with a backpack (where's the fabric to stitch) and a cute duck that kinda matches the set I've stitched on the last few years ;)

Since I've already stitched my baby boy's name on the teddy, I tried to look for something different. I had this idea to pick a small design from my little ducks charts (you can see an example on the meter from the second photo). I thought about adding one or two stars but, in such a small piece, it would look to full.
I chose to keep just the boat, simple but sweet :)

Now I need to figure something else for the polar bear =)

cross stitch, crochet, knitting, sewing... what am I not doing? :p

Pensar que daqui a duas semaninhas seremos 3 em casa =) Ainda custa acreditar que a gravidez passou tão rápido e o Lourenço está quase a chegar :)



Corre tudo bem, o único desafio é dormir!!! Fica complicado quando temos um menino a dar pontapés na nossa barriga ou quando a posição dele não colabora com a nossa hehehehe Isso tem diminuído a minha produtividade durante o dia, como não descanso bem, não tenho a mesma energia no dia-a-dia. Mas não pensem que passo o dia deitada, logo quem ;) LOL

Na verdade, incomoda mais estar muito tempo na mesma posição ou a fazer a mesma coisa, o ideal é ir alternando e movimentando. Nem muito tempo de pé, nem muito tempo sentada. Continuar a fazer umas caminhadas mesmo quando a energia é pouca, a actividade faz o corpo sentir-se melhor :)

Os crafts também continuam a rolar :D mas como vos acabei de dizer, não passo muito tempo a fazer a mesma coisa, ou seja, vou fazendo de tudo um pouco heheheh Saber trabalhar com diferentes técnicas acaba por ser bem atractivo nesta fase :) Ponto cruz, crochet, tricot, costura, feltro... tudo tem acontecido aqui :p hahahahah Contei-vos que o mês de Fevereiro seria para trabalhar no decor do quartinho, assim tem sido :) Não tenho mostrado fotos porque estou a tentar terminar mais algumas coisas, será mais giro de mostrar quando o quartinho estiver 'composto' =) Está quase... ;) heheheh



Thinking that in a couple of weeks we will be 3 at home =) Still hard to believe that my pregnancy has gone by so fast and Lourenço is almost here :)

Everything going well , the only challenge is to sleep!!! It gets tricky when you have a little boy kicking inside your belly or when his position doesn't cooperate with yours hehehehe This has decreased my productivity during the day, I don't rest as well at night so not the same energy during the day. But don't you think I spend my day laying down, we are talking about me ;) LOL

Actually, it bothers me more to spend a long time in the same position or doing the same thing, the ideal is to keep alternating and moving. Not much time standing up, nor sitting down for too long. I continue to take my walks even when the energy is low, the activity makes the body feel better :)

My crafts continue on a roll :D But, as I just said , I don't spend a lot of time doing the same thing, I'm doing a bit of everything at the same time heheheh The ability to work with different techniques turns out to be very attractive at this stage :) Cross stitch, crochet, knitting, sewing, felt... everything is happening around here :p hahahahah I've told you before, February would be to work on the nursery's decor, I'm following the plan :) I haven't shown pictures because I'm trying to finish a few more things, it's more interesting to show once the room is 'all set' =) Almost there... ;) heheheh

Ainda temos dois meses pela frente, algumas pessoas já estão a encurtar a viagem para apenas 1 mesinho, não façam isso! Eu quero que passe devagar, não cortem ainda mais! ;) hahahahah Começámos o 8º mês (32 semanas) e ainda temos até 12 de Março, data prevista para o parto :)

Com a barriguinha a ficar mais redonda, o ritmo abranda mas ainda há tempo que chegue para mais alguns crafts ;) Espero fazer mais uns bordadinhos durante este mês e passar Fevereiro a entreter-me com os últimos detalhes na decoração do quartinho :D

Falando em bordados, tenho mais uma fraldinha terminada :)

Os bichinhos fofos funcionam muito bem para os meninos, não acham? :) Sempre achei que era mais fácil bordar coisas mimosas para meninas, até que tenho conseguido encontrar opções fofinhas para menino, sem ter de ceder aos carrinhos e comboios! :p LOL

Para o próximo post, um flashback dos bordados finalizados em 2013 :)
E prometo que também farei um post com todos os bordados que fiz para o meu pequeno smurf =) heheheh A Annette já me pediu, não está esquecido ;)

There are still two months to go, some people are already shortening the trip to only 1 month, please don't do that! I want time to pass slowly, don't cut it short even more! ;) hahahahah We started the 8th month (32 weeks) and we still have until March 12th, the prediction for the due date :)

With my baby bump getting rounder, I'm slowing my pace but there's still time for a few more crafts ;) I hope to do some more cross stitching during this month and spend February having fun with the last details on the nursery decoration :D

Speaking of stitching, here's one more finished piece for my baby, another giraffe :) Cute animals work very well for baby boys, don't you agree? :) I always thought it was easier to stitch sweet things for girls, somehow I managed to find good options to make adorable things for my baby boy, without having to yield to cars and trains! :p LOL

Coming on my next post, a flashback of all my cross stitch finishes from 2013 :)
And I promise I'll also make a post with all I've made for my little smurf heheheh Annette has asked me for that, it's not forgotten ;)

life's a stitch...with variations ;)

Quando recebi a Travelling Pattern comecei a idealizar como finalizar a peça, pensei algo para colocar no meu atelier mas... faltavam cores alegres! Resolvi arriscar e escolher cores a meu gosto. Como se isso não bastasse ainda optei por bordar com as Color Variations da DMC :p heheheh

Bordei um ponto completo de cada vez, adorei o resultado :)
Gosto imenso da variação da cor, o efeito destas linhas é muito bonito mas o avesso é a vergonha das vergonhas!! LOL Quando estamos habituados a seguir as regras para um avesso perfeito, é muito estranho bordar assim :p

When I received the Travelling Pattern I started to think about how I'd finish my piece, I thought something to put in craft room but... it was missing happy colors! I decided to take a risk and choose my own colors. Like that wasn't enough already, I chose to stitch with DMC Color Variations :p heheheh

I stitched one complete stitch at a time, loved the result :)
I really like the variation effect, the stiitching looks very pretty but the back is the shame of shames! LOL When we are used to follow to rules for the perfect back, it's a bit weird to stitch like this :p

What do you think about my boldness? Love it or hate? :D

b is for babies and bunnies

Há um baby boom na minha familia! LOL :D Nos próximos seis meses - não um, não dois, não três mas quatro bebés!!! - quatro bebés estão para chegar ao mundo :) E não há gémeos, são mesmo quatro primas grávidas! hahaha



Adoro oferecer estes bonequinhos da DMC, sempre tão fofinhos, perfeitos como primeiro presente para o bebé :) Personalizo com a primeira letra do nome e fica um presente especial para o bebé brincar e para mais tarde guardar de lembrança da infância =) Espero! hehehehe



Quando não sabemos se é menino ou menina, fica mais difícil pois temos de fugir ao tradicional azul e rosa, fazer algo que agrade a todos os gostos :p Arrisquei numa babete amarelinha e não resisti a bordar este coelhinho =)

There's a baby boom in my family! LOL :D In the next six months - not one, not two, not three but four babies!!! - four babies are coming to the world :) And no twins, really, four different cousins that are pregnant right now! hahaha

I love these DMC plush animals, always so cute, perfect for the first baby gift :) I usually stitch the first letter of the name and it's a special gift for the baby to play and to save for the childhood memories =) I hope! hehehehe

When we don't know if it's a boy or girl, it gets harder because we have to get away from the traditional pink and blue, do something that will please all tastes :p I chose a soft yellow bib and couldn't resist to stitch this cute little bunny =)

Já vos falei que andei a preparar alguns presentes de aniversário, um deles foi para a minha cunhada, que me pediu uma versão azul do caminho de mesa que fiz para a minha mãe no ano passado. Recordam-se?

Isto de ter uma família que gosta dos meus bordadinhos é muito bom para a lista de Natal, não preciso decidir o que oferecer, basta anotar pedidos ;)
Para a minha mãe será um conjunto para a cozinha e para a minha cunhada um outro caminho de mesa em azul e prata, desta vez com o tema de Natal. Só preciso escolher os gráficos! :D

Para o tema de Natal, pensei em algo do tipo presentes em azul com fita prata, como este que encontrei na Rico Designs:

I think 2011 has beaten the record of the year when I've stitched more blue! :p
I've told you that I was preparing some birthday gifts, one of them was for my sister-in-law, who asked me for a blue version of the table runner that I stitched last year for my mother. Do you remember?
And thus was born a blue version of the same piece :)

Having a family that appreciates my handmade gifts it's great when it comes the time to make the Christmas list, no need to decide what to offer, just take requests ;) To my mother I will stitch a set for the kitchen and to my SIL another table runner in blue and silver, this time with the Christmas theme.
I just need to choose the patterns! :D

For the Christmas theme, first I thought of something like blue gift boxes with silver ribbons, as I found in Rico Designs magazine (picture above with the red patterns). But in the same issue there's another pattern that I found very pretty, look to the last pic above.. I like those stripe trees and snowflakes floating... can you imagine it in blue and silver? :) Let me know what you think, all suggestions are welcome ;)

I have something special to share with you today :)

A few weeks ago I received a message from DMC Portugal inviting me for an interview... I blushed, of course =) heheheh Today I had the pleasure to see it published on DMC Portugal's blog :D

Translation for my foreign friends.. I apologize ahead for
any 'kick' on the the english :p

"When did you start crafting?
In my childhood I always enjoyed playing with threads and needles, I can't specify at what age I started but I have memories of being very young and showing my cross stitch pieces around the house to my family.
It's a bit of family heritage, my godmother taught me cross stitch and with my mother I learned the basics of knitting and crochet. The love for cross stitch prevailed and over the years I've been learning how to do it better. Even now, I'm still learning new things, especially through the web and through friends that I've met.
What is your favorite technique? (Cross Stitch, Embroidery, Crochet..)
I like doing many different things and there is always something new that I want to learn! But certainly I've been working more on my cross stitch, definitely my favorite craft.
In addition to stitching, I make decoupage, needle felting and I've also learned to sew a little in order to finish my works.
How did Caixinha de Pirlimpimpim started? Why the name?
My blog started with the encourage from some friends who already knew my work through my Flickr gallery. It started from fun and curiosity! It has been almost 3 years and I'm still discovering new things through the interactivity that the blogosphere gives us. I'm grateful for the opportunity to meet great people from all over the globe.
For the name I wanted something that I could identify myself with and not be directed only to cross stitch. I was starting a space to share the variety of crafts that I know (or new ones that I would learn), where I would be able to show a little from my country to my foreign friends, and where I could just share everything that would make the readers smile!
Taking a little box with works, adding that I'm a positive person and I love the mystique of the enchanted world of fairies.. like it's said in fairy tales "fairy dust only works if we have happy thoughts". So 'Caixinha de Pirlimpimpim' ('Little box of fairy dust') was born!
How would you describe your work?
I believe my blog readers are best people to describe it. I leave it to the ones who visit me the opportunity to comment, take a peek on my 'Little box of fairy dust' and share your opinion!
Dreams for the future?
I hope to continue with my blog for many years to come, learn, innovate in what I do and spread inspiration for all those who visit."

Obrigada a todas pelas mensagens no post anterior =)

Estamos em ano novo mas ainda tenho algumas coisas 'velhas' para partilhar convosco. Lembra-se dos meus sneak peeks? :) Tenho de vos dizer que esta brincadeira tão simples fez-me rir bastante!! Podem confirmar agora como não havia grande mistério escondido ;)

Na primeira imagem estava uma babete, a segunda vez que bordei o nome 'Gustavo' no ano de 2010 (para dois bebés em países diferentes, em continentes diferentes!)



Ainda na secção baby, mais uma babete para o mais novo membro da minha familia, a minha priminha Rosie que tem apenas 2 meses =)

A seguir, quase que acertavam, não era um cachorrinho.. mas dois! Lol





Atendendo a pedidos da D. Vitória (minha mãe heheeh) saiu mais um caminho de mesa, desta vez em tons de castanho. Já lhe bordei dois gráfico da Rico Design, um de corações e outro com estrelícias (a sua flor predilecta). Para o castanho, queria fugir aos desenhos geométricos, queria bordar algo que ficasse elegante e leve sobre a mesa. Encontrei este gráfico no livro 'Happy days' da Mango Pratique, escolhi dois tons que combinassem com o ambiente da sala da minha mãe e voilá!



Acho que saiu bonito e deixei a 'cliente' satisfeita :D
(PS: já anotei nova encomenda!! lol)



O tempo foi curto para fazer todos os presentes que eu gostaria de ter feito. E achava eu que tinha começado cedo a preparar para o Natal!! Este ano, faço planos de começar ainda mais cedo.. em Agosto ;)

It's a new year but I still have some 'old' stuff to share with you. Remember my sneak peeks? :) You can't imagine how this simple game made me laugh so much! You'll see that there was no great mystery hidden ;)

In the first picture was a bib, the second time that I stitched the name 'Gustavo' in the year 2010 (for two babies in different countries, in different continents!) Still in baby section, one more bib for the newest member on my family, my little cousin Rosie who has only two months old =)

Next, everyone almost got it, it wasn't one puppy.. but two! ;) Lol

Upon Mrs. Vitoria's request (my mother :) her name means 'Victory') I made one more table runner, this time in shades of brown. In the past, I stitched two designs from Rico, one with hearts and another with strelitzias (her favorite flower). For the brown, I was avoiding geometric designs, I was looking for something elegant and lighter on the table. I found this design in the book 'Happy Days', from Mango Pratique, I picked two tones that matched with the atmosphere in my mother's living room and voilá!
I think it came out beautiful and I made my 'customer' happy :D
(PS: I already have a new request for the next gift! lol)

Time was too short to make all the gifts that I would like to have done. And I thought I had started early preparing for Christmas!! This year, I plan to start even earlier.. in August ;)

O meu dia teve duas notícias boas! A primeira foi que ganhei um giveaway no blog da Mylene :) e a segunda foi ver esta foto no blog da DMC:



É sempre uma alegria saber que o nosso pacotinho fez o seu caminho e chegou inteiro :) Eu consigo identificar o meu bloco ali no meio de todos porque reconheci logo a minha letra no envelope! heheheh

Amanhã trago-vos mais novidades dos meus postais de natal ;)

And two good news for me today! The first was that I won Mylene's blogversary giveaway :) and the second was to see this photo on DMC's blog, with 44 blocks received! I can identify my block there in the middle because I recognize my handwriting on the envelope hehehe It's always a joy to know that our package made its way and reached its destination safely :)

Tomorrow I will bring you more news about my Christmas cards ;)

o fim dos wips :p

Finalmente um fim-de-semana sem trabalho, só diversão :D Tempo 100% livre para mim e para a minha 'to-do' lista... que nunca é pequena :p hehehe Resultado? Várias fotos para partilhar convosco :)

Terminei o meu Pink SAL, a contribuição para o projecto da DMC. Bordado terminado, embalado e já seguiu por correio esta manhã :)



Alguma de vocês participou neste SAL? Ou noutras campanhas para o Outubro Rosa? Deixem-me links, terei todo o gosto em conhecer mais projectos e colaborar também ;)

Finalizei o enfeite de Natal, da Lizzie Kate:



E, ainda na fila dos wips, finalizei o meu outro bordado da Lizzie Kate. Tinha pensado fazer uma botinha de Natal, ou um set de cartas, mas o tecido (ou a falta dele Lol) não deu! Quando comecei a bordar, fi-lo sem ter nada em mente, apenas porque gostei do gráfico. Para estas duas ideias, precisava de mais margem de linho.. fica a lição para a próxima ;)

Costurei um saquinho para presente :D

De volta ao meu ritmo normal e apenas com um bordado em mãos, que quero completar logo, os ratinhos da Margaret Sherry :)

I finished my Pink SAL, the contribution for DMC's project. It's finished, packed and already sent by mail this morning :)
Did any of you participated in this SAL? Or in any other campaigns for Pink October? Leave me some links, I will be happy to know more projects and also collaborate to them ;)

I finished my ornament, 'Dear Santa I Want It All', by Lizzie Kate.
Also, my other LK, 'Dear Santa Can Explain' :) I thought of making a Christmas stocking, or a letter set, but the fabric (or lack Lol) didn't help! When I started stitching this one, I didn't had anything in mind, I just liked the chart. So, for these two ideas, I needed more margin of linen.. lesson learnt for the next ;)
I ended up sewing a string bag that I'll use as a Christmas gift package :D

All my wips are done! uhuuuuu :D
Back to my normal pace and with only one stitching in hands, Margaret Sherry's mice, that I'm anxious to get back to :)

Olá mundo!!! Agora sim, estou de volta a 100% aqui no blog, estava complicado de net em casa mas já é um problema resolvido :)
No bugdate de hoje (o título é mérito da Paty ;) lol!) tenho fotos para vos mostrar da minha joaninha porta-chaves!! :D



Bordei na tag 'Sweet Home' ('Doce Lar') com letrinhas que peguei de um calendário da Margaret Sherry. Queria algo simples mas com um toque diferente, achei especial graça a estas letrinhas por terem nózinhos franceses nas pontas :)



Vejo como pintinhas que combinam com as pintas da joaninha :D



Tudo bem que demorei duas horas com tanto nózinho hahahah mas valeu a pena, ficou como eu queria :D É o primeiro bordado oficial na casa nova LOL!
É gira esta fase, em que tudo é 'o primeiro' na casa nova :p

I'm 100% back here on the blog, our internet problem is finally solved :)
For my bugdate today (title by my friend Paty ;) lol! ) I have photos to show to you, my ladybug keychain! :D

I stitched 'Sweet Home' on the tag, with letters from a Margaret Sherry's Calendar. I wanted something simple but with a twist, I thought this letters were fun for having french knots at the ends :) For me the spots (knots) match with the spots of the ladybug :D

Allthough it took me two hours just to make all these knots hahahah it was worth ;) It's the first official embroidery at my new house LOL! I'm in that phase where all has it 'first' hahahah it's fun! This is my first post :D Bring on the first comments :D

Gostaram do último post? :) Como prometido é devido, segue o post com os meus acessórios, companheiros nas horas de bordado ;)
Nos acessórios não tenho nenhuma marca exclusiva, depende do que gosto. Curiosamente... quase tudo quanto tenho é DMC também! Lol! :D



Tenho uma pasta onde guardo todos os acessórios e o bordado que estou a fazer no momento. Esta ainda está novinha, foi comprada há poucos dias :) Costumava usar o modelo anterior, uma versão um pouco mais pequena e em azul escuro (da mesma colecção do estojo tubular que mostrei no post anterior). Há dias encontrei este modelo e caí de amores =) A pasta azul continuarei a usar para levar o bordado em viagem, mais prático para não sujar a bege ;) heheheh



Esta pasta divide-se em três partes, tem uma aba tipo bolsa e o corpo divide-se em dois (com um fecho para expandir). Tem diversos compartimentos de bolsos para arrumar os acessórios e ainda espaço onde colocar as capas plásticas com as meadas a utilizar :)



Tenho sempre comigo os meus bastidores, as tesourinhas, um kit de agulhas de diferentes tamanhos e a canetinha para marcar tecido :)
É onde guardo também o bordado que estou a fazer, excepto se for uma peça grande (como o medidor dos patinhos) claro!



Para facilitar a leitura dos gráficos tenho ainda uma lupa (item de oferta numa revista Cross Stitcher) e um quadro magnético, para suporte e fácil acompanhamento do gráfico ;) Coloca-se o gráfico sobre a base e marca-se o ponto, que estamos a bordar, com a banda magnética :)





Espero que tenham gostado destes últimos posts e que se inspirem a revelar como vocês se organizam também :) Agora vou dormir que são horinhas! lol!! Prometo que amanhã respondo a todas as mensagens e emails pendentes ;) Até amanhã :D

Did you like my last post? :) As promised is due, here is the post with my accessories, my stitching companions ;) I don't have any special preference about acessories brand... curiously almost everything I have is DMC as well! Lol! :D

In the photos you can see my shoulder bag, divides into three parts (with a zipper to expand), it has different pockets for storing accessories and even space where to place the plastic covers for the threads in the stitchbows :)

Inside I always have my hoops, the scissors, a kit of different sizes needles and a magic pen to mark fabric :) Also my chart magnifier (gift from a Cross Stitcher magazine) and a magnetic board where I place the chart and follow with the magnetic stripe :)

I hope you enjoyed these recent posts and that you feel inspired to reveal how you organize your stuff :) Now it's time for me to go to bed! I promise tomorrow I'll reply to all messages and emails ;) See you tomorrow :D
