Day #5 wrapping gifts :D

Obrigada por todas as palavras simpáticas no meu último post =) Apesar da barriguinha crescer, sempre me dizem que tenho uma barriga pequena para o tempo de gestação.. eu também sou pequenina ;) hehehe A minha mãe contou-me que na primeira gravidez também teve uma barriga pequena e o meu irmão nasceu com 2,7kg; na segunda gravidez, a barriga cresceu mais e eu nasci com 3,6kg :p Mas o meu irmão levou 9h na maternidade, eu nasci passado 1h20 da minha mãe sair de casa hahahahah Segundo o Rui, fui despachada até para nascer :D LOL!!!

Chegou Dezembro e ando em clima de Natal, é dificil uma pessoa não se contagiar com esta época =) Todos os anos faço alguns presentes handmade, para a familia e para os amigos, além dos postais que já viraram tradição :) Isso é tarefa que começa em Setembro/Outubro mas, como vocês têm acompanhado, os meus crafts andam em 'baby mode'! Este Natal será uma excepção à regra.. por uma boa causa, não concordam? ;)

Os embrulhos personalizados já são imagem de marca debaixo da nossa árvore de Natal hehehe Todos os anos tenho de inventar alguma coisa diferente :) Estou numa de flocos de neve e guizos! Cedo tive uma ideia do que queria fazer e acho que resultou bem :D

Continuo à procura das bolinhas de Natal para fazer enfeites personalizados mas ainda não encontrei. Talvez consiga em Lisboa, mais lojas para procurar, pode ser que encontre por lá. *dedinhos cruzados para dar sorte*

Thank you all for your sweet comments on my last post =) My belly is growing but everyone still tells me that I have a tiny belly for the time of pregnancy... I'm also tiny ;) hehehe My mother told me she also had a small belly for her first pregnancy and my brother was born with 2,7kg ; for the second time, her belly grew bigger and I was born with 3,6kg :p But my brother took 9h on the maternity and I was born 1h20m after my mom left home hahahahah According to Rui, I'm so active, I was fast even to come to the world :D LOL!!!

December arrived and I'm totally in the Christmas mood, it's impossible not to let this season get over you =) Every year I make a few handmade gifts for family and friends, also my christmas cards have become a tradition :) This is a task that begins in September / October but, as you all have been following, my crafts have been on 'baby mode'! This Christmas will be an exception to the rule... for a good cause, don't you agree? ;)

Different gift wrapping it's also a tradition underneath our Christmas tree hehehe Every year I have to invent something different :) Looks like this season I'm all for snowflakes and jingles! Early I knew what I wanted to do and I think it worked out pretty well :D Even in oddly shaped packages hehehe

Still searching for plain ornament balls to personalize, haven't found anything yet. Maybe in Lisbon, more stores to look, I might find something there. *crossing my fingers for good luck*

all ready and waiting for Santa :)

Ufff! Que semana cheia!! Vocês já pararam de correr? ehehehe Por aqui consegui deixar tudo em ordem :) O elfo de Natal cumpriu todas as suas tarefas! hehehe Depois dos presentinhos todos embrulhados - até já andámos a distribuir pela familia e amigos - e dos postais enviados, ontem ainda comprei uma última surpresa online e hoje ainda vou enviar mais dois postais! Muito em cima da hora, é verdade, mas com boa intenção e espero que faça sorrir quem os receber, mesmo que chegue depois da data =)



Este ano não coloquei pompons nos embrulhos, usei um papel diferente, branquinho :) Com brilho e nada fácil de manusear :p Mas ao 2º ou 3º embrulho já lhe comecei a apanhar o jeito - O Rui é que não ficou muito contente ao embrulhar a minha prenda :p hehehe Coloquei uma fita de papel decorado e tags redondas (igual à cabeça dos bonecos de neve LOL) seguras por molinhas de madeira com diferentes apliques de feltro. Voilà:





Tudo branquinho e vermelho, a combinar com o restante decor ;)

Phew! What a busy week! Have you stopped running? ehehehe Here it's all done :) This Christmas elf fulfill all her tasks! hehehe After all gifts wrapped up - we've started to deliver among family and friends - and postcards sent, yesterday I bought one last surprise online and today I sent two more cards! Very short notice, it's true, but with good intention and hopefully it'll make the recipient smile, even if it arrives after the date =)

No pom poms on my gifts this year, I used a different wrapping paper, glossy white :) A bit stiff and not easy to handle :p But by the 2nd or 3rd wrap I started to get the hang of it - Rui was not that happy when he wrapped my gift :p hehehe I added a piece of patterned paper and white round tags (like the heads of the snowmen LOL) secured by tiny wooden clothespins with different cutted felt appliques. Voilà! (pictures above but I had to repeat my 'Voilà' just for Valérie ;) hehehe)

à la Martha Stewart :)

Já vos falei nos meus embrulhos 'à la Martha Stewart' mas ainda não postei! Bom, eu gosto imenso de fazer embrulhos, inventar coisas diferentes e fazer grandes laços :) Se levo jeito não sei... mas que me diverte, isso diverte! ;)

Quando passamos o Natal em nossa casa, consigo fotografar as prendas todas juntas, este ano, o Pai Natal já começou a distribuir! Os meus embrulhinhos estão todos espalhados por diferentes casas, debaixo da árvore sobram apenas alguns para amanhã ;) Mas tenho fotos para mostrar!

A brincadeira sobre a Martha Stewart vem desta ideia que vi no site:



A ideia do rebuçado fez-me lembrar quando embrulhava bolas de futebol (trabalhei numa loja de desporto no tempo da universidade), papel de embrulho à volta da bola e dois laços grandes a apertar nas pontas :D

Eu adoro papel crepe, desde pequenina, lembro de fazer vários trabalhos com papel crepe colorido (até roupa de Carnaval! lol) Esta ideia foi excelente para disfarçar algumas prendas que, se embrullhadas normalmente, seria fácil de descobrir o que seriam! Voilá:



Que tal, ficaram bonitos? A base de papel para bolo além de decorar ainda serve de etiqueta ;) Depois do Natal conto-vos o que está dentro!

E caso se estejam a questionar sobre os grandes laços brancos, também foram feitos por mim :p Adoro fazer laços para presentes, então se for um embrulho com um papel simples e um laço bonito fica um charme :)

Entre os meus laços preferidos, está este em papel crepe e um frio de ráfia:



O reflexo no papel prateado não favorece muito a foto, parece que duplica o laço, garanto-vos que ao vivo faz um embrulho amoroso! Aqui tem o presente para uma bebé =)

Outro embrulho com papel crepe, posso vos dizer que é um livro de receitas :)



A parte mais dificil é fazer os lacinhos com fita de cetim quando temos pauzinhos de gelo em vez de dedos!!! LOL Está muito frio por aqui :p

Mais logo vou começar a preparar dos doces de Natal :)

I've told you about my gift wrapping 'à la Martha Stewart' but I haven't post it here yet!
Well, I like wrapping presents, making different packages and big bows :) I don't know if I have the hang for it but.. I do have fun! ;)

When we spend Christmas in our house, I can take a photo of all the presents together, this year, Santa has already begun to delivery. My gifts are all scattered in different houses, under the tree there are only a few for tomorrow :) But I have pictures to show you!

The joke about Martha Stewart comes from this idea that I saw on the website (first picture above). The candy makes me remember when I used to wrap football balls (I worked on a sports store while I was studying in the university), wrapping paper around the ball and two large ribbon bows to tighten the edges :D

I love crepe paper, since I was a kid, I remember doing several crafts with colorful crepe paper (even Carnival clothes! Lol) This was an excellent idea to disguise some gifts that, if normally wrapped, would be easy to figure out what's inside ;) On the second picture you can see a couple of gifts that I left in Lisbon :) Doily paper decorates and can also be used as name tag ;)
And if you are wondering about the big white bows, also made by me :p

I love making bows for gifts, or a package with a simple paper and a beautiful bow, it's charming :) Among my favorites, is crepe paper bow with just a piece of raffia, as you can see on the third picture (sorry for the reflection on the silver paper, doesn't help for the photo!) Inside is a gift a baby girl =)
The last one, I can tell you that it's a cooking book :)
The hardest part is to make bows with satin ribbon when you have ice sticks instead of fingers! LOL It's too cold here :p

Later today I'll start to cook Christmas desserts :)

enfeitar na hora de embrulhar

Terminei mais um presente para o Natal e estou a meio de outro :) Gostava de ter fotos para postar aqui mas o tempo não colaborou, choveu o dia todo, não houve um raio de luz decente hoje =/ Fica para o post de amanhã ;)

Gostava de conseguir ideias para oferecer presentes handmade a toda a familia, o que é díficil, especialmente para os homens! Vocês não sentem isso também? Pelo menos o tipo de artesanato que eu faço, não é nada fácil encaixar ideias para o 'sector' masculino. Mas, mesmo nos presentes comprados, gosto de fazer o meu próprio embrulho, não sou daquelas pessoas que embrulha na loja e traz para casa :p É divertido e dá um toque extra a qualquer presente! :)

Deixo-vos algumas ideias que encontrei pela web, imagens que me cativaram a atenção, e vou começar a embrulhar os presentes para colocar debaixo da minha árvore! :D


I finished one more Christmas gift and I'm halfway to finish another :) I wish I had pictures to post here but it hasn't stopped raining since I woke up, there wasn't a single decent ray of light today =/ I'll leave the photos for tomorrow's post ;)

I would like to have ideas to make handmade gifts for the whole family but that's difficult, especially for men! Don't you feel that too? At least with the type of crafts that I make, it's not easy. But even with the gifts that I buy, wraping on the store and just bring home doesn't work for me :p I like to make it myself, It's fun and gives an extra touch to any gift! :)

I'm leaving you some ideas that I found on the web, a few pictures that caught my attention, and I will start wrapping presents to put under my tree! :D
