Já é quinta-feira?!?! :p Tem sido uma semana cheia por aqui, muito trabalho ainda por fazer, cansaço e algum soninho à mistura... Bordei pouco (falta ainda a lua para terminar o cabeçalho do Halloween Rules) mas consegui completar a missão do IHSW e visitar os outros 165 blogs, muito blog para visitar mas também novas amigas para conhecer :) heheheh

Não tenho qualquer dúvida de que podemos conhecer pessoas maravilhosas pela blogosfera e criar grandes e fortes laços de amizade :D E essa amizade pode-se sentir nas mais variadas formas, um pequeno gesto alegra os nossos dias quando menos esperamos... seja num comentário simpático =) numa troca de emails que vira uma conversa animada :) ou mesmo numa troca de tweets que nos fazem rir e abstrair do dia-a-dia, como se a nossa amiga estivesse bem ali na mesa ao lado :D

Também pode chegar até nós em pequenos pózinhos de pirlimpimpim que se transformam em sorrisos e carinho quando abrimos um envelope =))))

Is it Thursday already?!?! :p It's been a busy week around here, lots of work to do, tiredness and some lack of sleep to mix... I stitched only a bit (I'm missing the moon to complete the header on Halloween Rules) but somehow I managed to accomplished the mission for IHSW and visit the other 165 blogs, many blogs to visit but also many new friends to meet :) heheheh

I have no doubt that we can meet wonderful people through the blogosphere and make big and strong bonds of friendship :D A friendship that can be felt in many forms, a small gesture fills our days with smiles when we least expect... it can be in a nice comment =) in an email exchange that becomes a joyful conversation :) or even an exchange of tweets that make us laugh and forget the stress of the day, as if our friend was right there at the next desk :D

It can also reach us in the shape of pixie dust that turns into smiles and affection when we open an envelope =))))

IHSW + housework = weekend

O meu fim-de-semana foi semi-sabotado por coisas que eu prefiro fazer durante a semana (em vez de deixar para estes dois dias)... arrumar a casa e cuidar da roupa :p Mas lá teve que ser hehehe Diga-se de passagem que ter uma coisa boa para fazer, motiva a fazer as outras mais depressa ;) hehehhe

A manhã de sábado foi para arejar, passear e fazer umas compras :) De tarde arrumar a casa, lavar e engomar roupa, ainda fiz uma coroa para a porta da entrada :D E à noite peguei nas agulhas e ataquei o Halloween Rules:

No Domingo tive de refazer o relvado =/ Tinha bordado a preto quando o correcto seria verde! Esta é uma das vantagens de fazer um SAL com uma amiga, foi a Cathey que me avisou da minha asneira :p hehehehe Relvado refeito, falta a lua, a abóbora e a palavra Halloween para terminar o cabeçalho. Ainda assim, não foi um mau progresso para meio fim-de-semana :)

E o vosso fim-de-semana, como foi? :)

My weekend was half-sabotaged by things I'd rather do during the week (instead of leaving it for these two days)... cleaning the house and laundry :p But it had to be done... not all bad, having a good thing to do after, helps to do all the rest faster ;) hehehhe

Saturday morning we went out for breakfast and some shopping :) In the afternoon I cleaned up the house, washed and ironed clothes, I even made a Winter wreath for the front door :D At night, I grabbed my needles and it was time for Halloween Rules!

On Sunday I had to stitch the lawn below the graves again =/ I stitched in Blackbird where it's supposed to be Moss! This is one of the advantages of stitching with a friend, Cathey told me about my screw up :p hehehehe Lawn redone, now it's missing the moon, the pumpkin and the word Halloween to finish the header. Still, not a bad progress for half-weekend :)

E o fim-de-semana começa.. agora! :D hehehee
Acabei a semana com o trabalho atrasado, com imensas coisas para fazer em casa e a querer passar os próximos dois dias apenas a bordar.. ai- ai- vai ser dificil gerir tudo :p Penso nisso amanhã, uma coisa de cada vez e tudo se faz ;)

Eu ainda estou em êxtase com a Bluebell, naquela fase em que se sentem borboletinhas no estômago só de a olhar e vê-la prontinha =) E as vossas mensagens ainda me fizeram sorrir mais!! Obrigada por todos os comentários tão simpáticos :D O mérito é todo da Nora Corbett, eu só bordei :p heheheh
Tal como as minhas Gorjuss, esta Pixie também precisa de companhia, não pode ficar filha única senão vai sentir-se sózinha, não acham? Podem contar que vão ver outra fadinha por aqui.. em breve ;)

Agora segue-se a tarefa do mês para o meu SAL com a Cathey, comecei a bordar o Halloween Rules! A Cathey partilhou o seu tecido comigo, vamos bordar as duas no mesmo linho lilás 32ct :)

O meu ponto de partida para o IHSW, vamos ver se me porto bem e dou um bom avanço no fim-de-semana! :p

I'm closing my week with my work behind schedule, with plenty of things to do at home... and I want to spend the next two days just stitching -uh -uhuuu - it's going to be difficult to manage everything :p Well, I'll think about that tomorrow, one thing at a time and all will be done ;)

I'm still in extasy with Bluebell, I feel butterflies in my stomach when I look and see her finished =) And your messages made me smile even more! Thanks for all the comments, so nice :D Nora Corbett has all the merit, I just stitched :p heheheh Like it happened with my Gorjuss girls, this Pixie needs company too, she can't be an only child or she will feel alone, don't you think? You can expect to see another fairy here... soon ;)

Next, my task of the month on my SAL with Cathey, I started Halloween Rules! Cathey shared her fabric with me, we will both stitch on 32ct lilac linen :)
The picture sets my starting point for IHSW, let's see if I'll be a good hermit and make a great progress on the weekend! :p

I think that after stitching more 3 or 4 fairies, I will probably look back and see something that I could have done better. That's how it is, it's part of life, we are always learning something more, improving ;) But... there's no love like the first love! Bluebell will forever be my first Pixie =)

Como foi o vosso fim-de-semana? Bem aproveitado? Quem está em terras de frio de certo que fez de tudo para ficar debaixo das mantas hehehehe Quem tem o Verão do seu lado do globo... faz-nos roer de invejaaaaa hahahah :D

Por aqui, o fim-de-semana foi bordar e ver filmes acompanhada do Rui e de 3 edredons. Sim, três, um ou dois ainda era pouco para o gelo do frio que se sente por aqui!! afff terra gelada esta onde eu escolhi viver :p

No Sábado terminei todas as cruzinhas, Kreinik e Caron Waterlilies, tudo bordado :) Estava certa de que no Domingo ia finalizar a Bluebell, só faltava fazer o contorno e umas duas horitas para colocar as missangas.. ok...
... podem rir de mim aqui hahaahahahha

Quem já fez algum projecto destes, sabe bem aquilo que eu descobri no Domingo: colocar missangas é uma arte de um mundo à parte!!! :p LOLLADA! Acho que não coloquei nem um terço das missangas e tive de parar duas vezes porque me doía as costas! Mas fica tão giro :D É trabalhoso mas vale bem a pena, acho que está a ficar linda =))) Ontem fiz mais um pouquinho...

Já está mais avançada do que a foto acima, o contorno completo, as missangas a 50%... a próxima foto será da Bluebell prontinha para a festa ;)
Já não faço previsões :p hehehe Digamos apenas que está para breve! :)

How was your weekend? Two days well spent? Who is in the land of cold certainly did everything to stay under the blankets hehehehe Who has Summer on their side of the globe... makes us nibble with envy hahahah :D

Here, the weekend was just about stitching and watching movies with Rui and three comforters. Yes, three, one or two wasn't enough for the ice cold around here! afff.. frozen land where I chose to live :p

On Saturday I finished all the xxx, Kreinik and Caron Waterlilies, all cross stitched :) I was sure I'd finish Bluebell on Sunday, just missing the backstitch and a couple of hours for beads... ok...
... you can laugh at me now hahaahahahha

Anyone who has done some design like this, knows what I discovered on Sunday: beading is a craft from another world! :p LOL I didn't finish beading even one-third and I had to stop twice because it was a pain.. in my back! hahahaah But it looks so pretty :D It's a lot of work but well worth it, I think Bluebell is looking so pretty =))) Yesterday I made a little more progress...

It's more advanced than the photo above, the backstitch is all done, 50% beading... the next photo of Bluebell it will be for a happy dance ;) I'm not predicting time anymore :p heheheh let's just say, it's coming soon! :)

2011 flashback

Há duas semanas atrás toda a gente começou a delinear objectivos para o novo ano e eu.. ainda aqui estou a fechar o ano velho :p hehehhe Mas agora que já postei tudo, posso finalmente fazer a contagem dos bordados de 2011!
Recordam-se do meu flashback de 2010? Fechei o ano com 28 bordados :)

Uhuuu!! Ontem consegui actualizar-me por todos os blogs, faltam os emails mas pelo menos recuperei o atraso do fim-de-semana na leitura dos blogs :)

O meu último compromisso pendente é com o IHSW de Dezembro... já passou um bocadito :p Bordei bastante no terceiro fim-de-semana de Dezembro (não houve problemas de calendário pois já tinha todos os presentes de Natal tratados) mas falhei com a postagem =/ No meio do giveaway dos 12 dias de Natal, não sobrou oportunidade nem para postar o meu progresso nem para visitar as restantes participantes! Hoje mostro-vos o progresso que fiz e a seguir vou correr a listinha dos blogs do IHSW ;)

Como deixei a Bluebell em Novembro...

... e o progresso no IHSW - Dezembro:

Terminei todas as flores no topo, o que significa que terminei a primeira etapa, de bordar todas as cores DMC :) Etapa seguinte? Kreinik! :p

No fim-de-semana de Ano Novo, depois de colocar os botõezinhos no Christmas Rules, voltei à minha fadinha e comecei a bordar as linhas metalizadas Kreinik. É o que tenho bordado desde o inicio de 2012...

... ontem terminei as asas :D

Uhuuu!! Yesterday I was able to update all my blog reading, I still have tons of emails to reply but at least I'm not behind on your blogs now :)

My last pending commitment is with IHSW December... a little bit has gone by :p I stitched a lot during the third weekend of December (no scheduling problems because all my Christmas gifts were ready by then) but I failed to post =/ With 12 days of Christmas and the busy season, there was no opportunity to post my progress or even to visit the other stitchers! Today I show you the progress I made and then I'll run the list of blogs for IHSW ;)

First picture above, Bluebell as I left her in November... next, my progress during IHSW - December :) I finished all bluebells on top, which means that I completed my first step, all DMC colors done :) Next » Kreinik! :p

On New Year's weekend, after adding the buttons to Christmas Rules, I got back to my fairy and started to stitch those Kreinik. That's what I've been doing since the beginning of 2012... yesterday I finished the wings :D
She's close to be ready! :))))

Fiquei de voltar ontem à noite para postar mais uns bordadinhos mas acabámos por decidir ir ao cinema! Foi jantar e sair logo, já não deu tempo de passar por aqui nem nos vossos blogs, hoje vou me redimir disso ;) ehhehehe Vimos o último filme do Sherlock Holmes, não teve momentos tão engraçados como o primeiro mas gostei bastante mais deste, o jogo foi mais cativante :)

Ora bem, mostrando os meus últimos bordados terminados em 2011! :)

Para a minha troca de Natal com a June, bordei um bonequinho de neve da San-Man, faz muito tempo que estava na minha lista de preferidos!! Bordei em linho azul claro e para o verso utilizei o tecido que se vê de fundo:

Sabendo que a Noni adora gatinhos, para a troca de postais da Margaret Sherry só podia sair gato!!! ;) heheheh Dei um pequeno twist ao meu jeitinho =) Em vez de bordar o azevinho que o gato trazia ao pescoço, como está no gráfico, fiz as folhinhas em feltro e as bagas em missanga. Rematei com o mesmo num tamanho um pouco maior, no canto superior do postal :)

E finito nas linhas de 2011!! :D Acho que finalmente postei tudo o que fiz no ano que já vai lá atrááááás :p heheheh Agora, trabalhar e aproveitar os furinhos do dia para visitar os vossos blogs e encher as vossas caixas de email :D

Last night I was supposed to returned and post my last stitching from 2011 but... we ended up going to the movies! I had to go out right after dinner, there was no time to come here or even to visit your blogs, today I will redeem myself ;) ehhehehe We watched Sherlock Holmes - A Game of Shadows, not as many funny momments as the first but I liked this much more, the game was more captivating :)

Well, now showing my last 2011 finishes! :)

For my Christmas exchange with June, I stitched a snowman by San-Man, it has been on my list of favorites for a long time! Stitched on light blue linen and for the back I used the pink fabric that you can see on the picture.

...and another one for Kim :)

Knowing that Noni is a cat lover, for our Margaret Sherry postcard exchange, only a cat could come out! :) heheheh I gave it a little twist in my own way =) Instead of stitching the mistletoe around the cat's neck, as it is in the chart, I made leaves with felt and berries with beads. Final touch, the same mistletoe but a little bigger, at the top of the postcard :)

It's the end for 2011! :D I think I finally posted everything I made last year :p Now, time to work and take all the little breaks on the day to read your blogs and fill your mailboxes :D Happy Tuesday to all! :D

sunny winter weekend

Aproveitaram bem o vosso fim-de-semana? :)
Por aqui esteve um sol gostoso, apesar do frio de Janeiro, o sol esteve aceitavelmente quentinho heheheh No Sábado fizemos um passeio de carro, fomos até Espinho almoçar e sentir a praia :D

Quem também mereceu uma foto foi este girassol, que se cruzou connosco na viagem, mais alto do que eu (o que não é difícil hehehe) e solitário bem na entrada de uma casa antiga :)

O domingo foi passado em casa, a arrumar as últimas coisas de Natal e bordar a Bluebell :) Agora é hora de encarar a segunda-feira e apanhar o ritmo do trabalhar.. tem que ser! Mais logo volto para postar os meus últimos bordadinhos de 2011, ainda há mais para mostrar ;) heheheh

Did you make the most of your weekend? :)
Here we had nice sunny days, despite the bitter cold of January, the sun was acceptably warm heheheh On Saturday we took a road trip, lunch at Espinho and a walk on the beach :D

How I miss the summer .. and heat! :p

I found a cute little shop of ice cream, with white and blue stripes :) And on the way, we crossed with a sunflower taller than me (not very hard, I know hehehe) lonely at the entrance of an old house :) Couldn't resist to take a pic!

Sunday was spent at home, packing the last Christmas decorations and stitching Bluebell :) Now it's time to face the Monday and set up the work pace! I'll be back later to post my last stitching of 2011, yeap... there's more to show ;)

Adorei o feedback sobre o giveaway, fiquei muito contente que tenham gostado, que se tenham divertido :) Foi a primeira vez que fiz algo deste género, só o facto de postar 12 dias seguidos já foi uma aventura! hahahaha Mas acho que correu muito bem, para ser perfeito era todas ganharem um prémio! Quem sabe se para a próxima conseguirem distribuir ainda mais presentes?? Espero que sim!!! :D

As decorações de Natal já estão a voltar para as caixas mas eu continuo com mais imagens de 2011 para partilhar convosco! Ainda! É verdade ;D heheheh
Recordam-se dos meus bordados de Novembro, caminhos de mesa que não podia mostrar porque seriam presentes de Natal? Voilá:

Para a minha cunhada que queria algo com azul e prata, adaptei o gráfico da revista Rico, recordam-se? Peguei em dois tipos de árvores que bordei a azul e misturei um floquinhos de neve a prata :)

A minha mãe, que tem uma cozinha mais clássica, costuma colocar um pano sobre a mesa e outros três nos balcões. Por isso, um conjunto de quatro peças:

Se no anterior inventei com os gráficos da Rico, aqui inventei ainda mais :p LOL
Peguei no gráfico Patchwork Eté, da Jardin Privé, seleccionei as partes que mais gostava e fiz uma composição a gosto :)

Adoro as cores... acho que posso colocar este na lista das coisas mais bonitas que já inventei de fazer! =) hahahaah

E eu adoro bordar para estas senhoras!!! hehehehe :D

I loved the feedback about the giveaway, I'm very happy to see that everyone enjoyed and had fun :) It was the first time I did something like this, to post for 12 days in a row was already an adventure to me! hahahaha But I think it went very well, to be perfect all of you would have won a prize! Who knows, maybe next time I'll be able to share even more presents! I hope so! :D

Christmas decorations are going back to the boxes but I still have some more 2011 images to share with you! Yet! It's true :D heheheh Remember, back in November, I was stitching table runners but I couldn't show because it would be Christmas presents? No more secrets, pictures above :)

For my SIL I wanted something with blue and silver, mixing two charts from Rico magazine, I stitched two kinds of trees in blue and scattered silver snowflakes all around :)

My mother has a more classic kitchen, she puts a table runner over the table and smaller ones over the three kitchen counters, therefore, a set of four pieces :) If I invented with the Rico's charts for the first one... I did it even more for these :p LOL I grabbed the chart Patchwork Eté, by Jardin Privé, selected my favorite parts and made my own composition :)
How I love the colors... I think I can put these on the list of the most pretty things I've ever set in my mind to make! =)

12 days of Christmas °•● winner!!

Hoje é noite de Reis, para nós é o fecho da época das festas, para os espanhóis é a hora de trocar presentes! heheheh Verdade, em Espanha, hoje trocam-se os presentes :) Nós já o fizemos, resta-nos comer os chocolates da árvore de Natal e arrumar as decorações até ao próximo Dezembro!... dia 1 de Dezembro é bem mais divertido... não dá para fa-la-la enquanto se desfaz o decor! :p

Não sei se esta tradição de comer os chocolates existe apenas na minha família ou se é algo que se faz por todo o país.. na minha casa faziam assim quando eu era pequenina e a tradição ficou! :)

Bom, agora vou dar uma de espanhola e distribuir presentes!! Vocês querem mesmo é saber para quem vai a botinha do giveaway, certo? :D Eu bem gostava de dar presentes a todas mas só pode haver uma vencedora =/ A oportunidade é igual tanto para os seguidores habituais como para os acabados de chegar, é a sorte quem dita o resultado! King's Day here... it's the end of the holiday season for us, in Spain it's the night to exchange gifts! heheheh Truth, in Spain, they do it tonight :) We've done that already so now... we eat the chocolates from the tree and pack everything until December!... December 1st is much more fun... can't 'fa-la-la as we undecorate'! :p

I'm not sure if this tradition of eating the chocolates only exists in my family or if it's something that is done throughout the country... we did it when I was little and I sticked with the tradition! :)

Adoro as cores, adoro o tecido, sem dúvida uma peça que é muito especial para mim :) O meu bloquinho favorito é este 'Fa-la-la as you decorate' ...

Foi muito giro fasear este bordado e fazê-lo em simultâneo com uma amiga :) Tão divertido que decidimos fazer outro para 2012!!! heheheheh Agora vamos bordar o Halloween Rules, também da Lizzie Kate :D

From January to December, Cathey and I, we stitched one block each month for our SAL :) On the last day of 2011 I added the buttons to finish and here it is my Christmas Rules all done! :D

I love the colors, I love this mushroom linen, without a doubt it's a very special piece to me :) My favorite block is 'Fa-la-la as you decorate'... and I also really like the other two above, cookies and reindeer :D

It was so much fun to see this grow and to stitch along with a friend :) But so much fun that we decided to do it again for 2012! hehehehehe Now we will stitch Halloween Rules, also by Lizzie Kate :D

Não vos mostrei ainda o correio de Natal que chegou por aqui mas a minha caixinha teve bastante actividade nesta época! Cada cartinha que chegava foi carinhosamente guardada na minha bota gigante que está na entrada da casa :D E ficou a aguardar a noite de Natal heheheheh levei tudo para Lisboa e abri apenas na noite de 24 =)

I haven't shown you my Christmas mail yet but the postman was very busy this season! Each letter that arrived was lovingly stored in my giant stocking :D waiting for Christmas Eve hehehehehe I took all with me to Lisbon and opened only on the night of 24th =)

On Margaret Sherry Fan Blog, we had a Christmas handmade postcard exchange, Noni was my partner and sent me the fabulous card above! With the cute stitched mouse and his friends =) Also a couple of postcards showing me a little more about Australia :) Thank you Noni!!! :D

Tenho tantas coisas para partilhar convosco e postar aqui!!! :D
Mas nestes últimos dois dias dei prioridade a responder a todos os emails e actualizar-me pelos blogs... missão cumprida :) Também cuidei do jardim e arrumei a casa.. mais limpezas só no próximo ano ;) hehehehehe Estou pronta para me despedir do ano velho, dar olá ao novo e não fazer mais nada senão descansar e bordar nestes dois dias! :D Segunda-feira já se volta ao trabalho.. a realidade aguarda! :p Até lá, há que aproveitar bem ;) A nossa passagem de ano é sempre em familia, o Natal foi com o meu lado por isso a passagem de ano será com o lado do Rui, aqui em Guimarães :)

I have so many things to share with you and to post it here!!! :D
But these last two days I've given priority to reply to all emails and catch up on blogs... mission accomplished :) I also took care of my garden and cleaned the house.. more cleaning only next year ;) hehehehehe I'm ready to say goodbye to the old year, hello to the new and do nothing but rest and stitch for this weekend! :D On Monday I'll be back to work.. reality awaits! :p Until then, I must make the most of it ;) Our New Year's Eve is always with family, Christmas was in Lisbon so tomorrow night we'll have dinner and celebrate with Rui's family, here in Guimarães :)

Estamos de volta a casa! A passagem por Lisboa foi boa mas já acabou :p Foram seis dias para matar saudades da famelga heheheh Acima de tudo, para brincar muito com a Carol - por ela não saímos mais de Lisboa!! LOL

Os primeiros dias foram apenas para fazer doces e últimos preparativos para a ceia. Acabámos por fazer um Natal à la francesa :) Às 23h para nós já era meia-noite em França por isso abrimos os presentes hehehe a criança pequena estava impaciente! À meia-noite, já estávamos a apanhar os papeis do chão e gritámos todos "é meia-noite! Vamos abrir os presentes" hahaha Foi de rir! :D

Passei a noite devidamente equipada com o meu chapéu de ajudante de Pai Natal :) Levei também um gorro para a Carol, com trançinhas e tudo! :D

Já decidi o que vou oferecer a todos para a próxima.. pompons! Caixas apenas e só com pompons!!!! ahahhahaha Os pompons dos meus embrulhos fizeram sensação, não sobrou um no fim da noite, nem o do meu presente ficou! :D LOL

Agora tenho de organizar mais fotos, responder a emails, actualizar-me pelos vossos blogs e no fim-de-semana sai o sorteio do giveaway!! :D

We're back home! The trip to Lisbon was great but it's over :p Six days of family time but, more than that, six days to play a lot with Carol - if she could decide, we would never leave Lisbon! LOL

First two days were only to cook, bake, make final preparations for Christmas eve. We ended up making a Christmas à la French :) At 11 p.m. in Portugal, it was midnight in France so we opened the gifts hehehe the young child was impatient! At midnight, we were picking up the papers from the floor and we all shouted "It's midnight! Let's open the presents" hahaha Major laugh! :D

I had my Santa's helper hat :)
And for Carol a Cristmas hat with cute white braids :D

I've decided my presents for everyone next year... pom poms! Boxes filled with pompoms!! hahhahaha Everyone loved the pom poms I used for wrapping the gifts, not a single one was left at the end of the night, not even the one from my present! :D LOL

Espero que o vosso Natal tenha sido excepcional :) Eu ainda estou de férias em Lisboa e não tenho tido grande hipótese de estar online.. uma criança de 6 aninhos por perto consome o tempo todo! :D hahaha A verdade é que venho cá poucas vezes no ano, então, a Carol (minha sobrinha) requer toda a atenção e só quer é que brinque com ela =))) Amanhã é o último dia, vamos para casa, de volta a Guimarães. Dispensem o flash! Para captar realmente o ambiente, nada como as cores naturais e quentes :) Se calhar algumas fotografias ficaram mais desfocadas mas com a prática tudo se melhora, o truque é manter as mãos firmes ao segurar a máquina para lhe dar estabilidade ;)

How about some tips for taking pictures on Christmas Eve? :D

Turn off the flash! To really capture the atmosphere, nothing like the warm and natural colors :) Maybe some photos will come out a little blurred but with practice it gets better, the trick is to keep a steady hand while holding the camera to give good stability ;)

Less poses! Candid shots to catch those special moments :)

Different perspectives! Don't stick only to front and centered photos, use your imagination, be rebel, stand up on a chair if necessary! hehehe You will find out that pictures from other angles can look pretty cool :)

And like everything else in life: have fun! :D May you have an evening full of smiles and joy, take lots of pictures to remember later! And also to share with us! :D hehehe

Algumas amigas já foram surpreendidas por uma cartinha azul na caixa de correio :) Um postal da Caixinha de Pirlimpimpim com um pequeno miminho a acompanhar =) Gostava de mandar uma botinha recheada para todas as amigas, enviar algo bordado.. todas sabemos que não é fácil fazer isso, seja pelo tempo, seja pelo envio! :p

Já devem reconhecido a minha cartinha por alguns blogs, junto com o postal, enviei um raminho de azevinho em feltro :) Segui este tutorial para fazer o primeiro e gostei tanto do resultado! Pareceu-me ser um miminho perfeito para espalhar uns sorrisos pelo globo :D

Levou o seu tempo para fazer mas eu diverti-me a vê-los crescer,
alinhadinhos sobre a mesa...

... fiz mais de 30! :p

Este ano consegui enviar cedinho mas, mesmo assim, nesta altura o correio sempre demora um pouco mais para correr o globo! Espero que mais algumas sejam entregues nestes dois dias, caso contrário... que vos faça sorrir na próxima semana! =) hehehehe

Dois enfeites, um ursinho e uma moldura da DMC :)

Some friends have been surprised by a blue little letter in the mailbox :) A postcard from my Little Box of Pixie Dust and a tiny gift =) I would like to send a stocking full of presents to all friends, something cross stitched... we all know it's not easy to do that, short time, big postage! :p

You've probably recognized my card on some blogs, along with the postcard, I sent a felt mistletoe :) I followed this tutorial to make the first and I thought that the result was so cute! It looked like a perfect treat to spread some smiles across the globe :D

It took some time to make but I had a lot of fun watching them grow, aligned on the table... I made more than 30! :p

This year I was able to post early on the mail, but even so, at this time the mail always takes a little longer to run the world! I hope a few more will be delivered in these two days, otherwise... I hope it will make you smile next week! =) Hehehehe

Has anyone got kisses because of my mistletoe yet?? :D LOL
Hmmm... What can I ask you to share for today's theme... A photo of some mistletoe decorating in your house? Do you also have the tradition of giving kisses under the mistletoe? :)

Now I'm going to spread some kisses to Lisbon! ehheeh Grab our bags and start the trip, we will spend Christmas with my family :) I'll still have internet access, I'll keep in touch and posting here too :)

Este ano bordei uns quantos bonequinhos de neve mas estes não são a minha 'figura' preferida nesta época, os meus olhinhos brilham mais pelas reninhas fofas ou... pelos gingerbreads!! * Overload de fofura * eheheheheh

Nos meus preferidos está o da foto acima, que virou um avental de garrafa e foi um presente para a Shi há uns anos atrás. E este..

... que será um livro de receitas de Natal :)
Já terminei de bordar em 2010 mas ainda não consegui encontrar o livro que me permita finalizar como quero... é o problema de quando temos uma ideia muito definida do que pretendemos, nem sempre é fácil conseguir os materiais que vemos na nossa cabeça :p Mas com tempo eu acredito que vou encontrar o que procuro e fazer bem do jeitinho que quero :)

No topo da minha árvore, a anjinha também tem o seu ginger =)

Um dia ainda serei suficientemente doida para fazer uma casinha...

.. ou melhor, tentar!! Acredito que vou seguir a ideia de uma casa mega cute e fofa mas no fim terei algo mais na base da casa dos horrores!! LOL :D Para não vos deixar com essa ideia tão feia na mente, encerro o post com um video antigo mas que nunca perde a graça, gingerbreads no forno a fazer o Haka! :D

Será que vocês têm algum ginger fofo que queiram mostrar? Ou uma receita de bolachinhas gostosas para eu fazer?? :D ehehheh

Para a botinha trago uma casinha que não é de ginger mas pode acompanhar-vos na hora das bolachinhas ;)

Como enviar chá pode ser complicado de passar algumas fronteiras, junto vai um saquinho de rebuçados portugueses 'Flocos de Neve' :)

... gingerbreads! * cuteness overload * eheheheheh

Among my favorite cross stitch works is the first picture above, I made a bottle apron for a friend, a few years ago. Another one, on the next picture... to be a Christmas recipe book :) I stitched this one in 2010 but I haven't finished it into a book because I'm still looking for what I want.. it's the problem of having on our mind a clear idea of what we really want to make and it's not always easy to find the right supplies :p But in time I believe I'll find what I'm seeking and I'll do it just the way I want :)

On the top of my tree, the little angel also has her ginger =)
One day I'll be crazy enough to make a gingerbread house... or try! I will start with the intention of making a really cute and pretty gingerbread house but in the end I will have something in the style of the house of horrors! LOL :D To take that ugly idea from your head, I close this post with an old video but it's still funny, gingerbreads in the oven doing the Haka! :D

Do you have some cute gingerbread to show us? Or a delicious cookie recipe for me to bake? :D ehehheh

Finalmente um post que sai cedo no dia uhuuuuuu!!! :D Lollada! Se ainda não leram o post de ontem, não se esqueçam de espreitar aqui ;)

Já falei dos enfeites em ponto cruz, falta falar do feltro :) Sejam feitos pelas artesãs mais experientes ou pelas iniciantes, sempre resultam em peças extremamente fofas =)

Curiosamente.. não tenho nenhum feito por mim em casa! Mais uma vez, acabo por oferecer tudo quanto faço hehehe ou ocupo-me mais com os bordados, verdade que o ponto cruz é sempre o hobby a que mais me dedico =) Mas há peças de felto muito cutes por aqui!! As quais agradeço às amigas que enviam de presente, como este Pai Natal que está bem na entrada da minha casa :)

De um lado da porta está a coroa, com o boneco de neve que dá as boas-vindas, do outro lado o Pai Natal que diz adeus a quem sai :D LOL

I've posted about cross stitched ornaments, today is about felt :) Made by more experienced crafters or just beginner, the result is always something cute =)
Again... I don't have any made by me! I gave all away... also, I spend more time stitching, cross stitch is the strongest hobby here =) But there are very cute felt pieces on my house! Thanks to my friends who send as gift, like the Santa hanging on my door :) (first pic above)

On the outside of the door is the wreath, with the snowman giving a warm welcome, on inside is Santa Claus saying goodbye to those who leaving :D Lol

Não tenho a certeza se isto acontece nos países onde agora é Verão mas,
nesta parte do globo, a neve é fortemente associada à época de Natal.
Da decoração faz sempre parte a neve artificial e os flocos de neve :)
É para não esquecermos o frio que passamos!!! LOL Está muito - mas muito - frio aqui, este fim-de-semana chegaram as temperaturas negativas... brrrr...

Embora tenha adiantado o meu post ontem.. chego de novo às dez da noite :p ahahahha Foi por uma boa causa! Trago mais uma novidade para vos mostrar, acabadinha de fazer agora à noite :)

Nevou debaixo da minha árvore de Natal!!!! :D hahahha
Recordam-se das minhas dúvidas sobre o tapete para a minha árvore de Natal? A última era um simples tapete branco a imitar neve.. voilá! Consegui encontrar um tecido que faz mesmo o efeito da neve, foi só recortar, unir pontas, colocar no sitio e simular uns montinhos para o relevo! Está simples mas acho que ficou bonito :)

Vocês sempre dizem que eu já faço tanta coisa mas acreditem que a lista de projectos ainda é longa! O tempo nunca chega para tudo quanto quero fazer :p E se chegasse, provavelmente, era capaz de inventar mais umas tantas coisas! LOL Fiquei contente com a árvore que fiz ontem, ainda quero lhe arranjar um par esta semana ;) O que já não devo fazer para este ano são os flocos de neve que queria pendurar junto às janelas.. ou faço depois de Natal... ou vai ficar na lista dos projectos para 2012 :p

I'm not sure if this happens in countries where it's now summer, but on this side of the globe, snow is strongly associated with the Christmas season. Artificial snow and snowflakes are always part of the decoration :) So we won't forget the cold that we feel here!!! LOL It's so - but really soooo - cold here, this weekend we had temperatures below zero... freezing... brrrr ...

Although I started writing this post yesterday... it's ten o'clock at night again! :p ahahahha Well, I was late for a good cause! I bring something new to show you, fresh from doing tonight :)

It snowed under my Christmas tree!! :D hahahha Remember my doubts about the tree skirt? Number four was a simple white layer of snow... voilá! I managed to find a fabric that makes that snow effect, I just had to cut, sew a little, put it in place and simulate the mountains! It's discrete but I think it looks nice and cute :)

You always say that I do so much but, believe me, my project list is still long! Time will never be enought to make all that I want to make :p And if it was I'd probably make up a lot of other things! LOL I was happy with my little blue tree that I did yesterday, I want to make another one this week, different color :)
Still for this year, I think I won't have time to make snowflakes to hang by the windows... maybe I'll do it after Christmas... maybe it will stay on my list of projects for 2012 :p

Quantos de vocês estão hoje no meio das multidões, a fazer as últimas compras para o Natal ou presos no meio do trânsito... enquanto eu estou quentinha em casa, a ler blogs, responder emails e a bordar? :D heheheeh Também estou a preparar os posts para a próxima semana, começar a postar mais cedo que as dez da noite! :p LOL

Não venho falar sobre a minha árvore de Natal porque essa já vos mostrei no inicio de Dezembro :) O post de hoje é sobre crafts, fazer pequenas árvores para decorar em qualquer cantinho da casa. Esta manhã nasceu uma nova árvore cá em casa :D

Falta o rosa aqui, eu sei! Mas a prateleira ainda tem mais espaço, é um processo em desenvolvimento ;) eheheh

E perguntam vocês como é que eu fiz isto :p Muito fácil!
Usei uma árvore de esferovite e enrolei a lã à volta da árvore, como não tenho pistola de cola quente, segurei a lã com alfinetes no fundo como indica no tutorial nº.5 do mosaico abaixo :)

Esferovite!! Uma árvore, um bonequinho e uma bola! :D

How many of you are now in the middle of the crowds, doing last minute shopping for Christmas or stuck in traffic... while I'm warm at home, reading blogs, replying emails and stitching? :D heheheeh I'm also writing ahead my posts for next week, so I can start posting earlier than 10 p.m. :p LOL

I won't write about my Christmas tree because I've already shown you in early December :) Today's post is about crafts, making small trees to decorate around the house. This morning, a new tree was born at my home :D You can see it in the first picture above, in colors to match my kitchen decor, blue / green / pink :) It's missing some pink in there, I know! But there's more space in the shelf, it's a work in progress ;) eheheh

And you ask me how I did it :p Very easy!
I used a styrofoam tree and wrapped the wool around it, I don't have a hot glue gun so I pinned the wool on the bottom, as shown in the tutorial no.5 from the mosaic above :)

The difference between my tree and the one from the tutorial is that I only used one type of wool, I didn't have a different kind of wool to mix but I will try it another day, I like the textured effect :) On the mosaic you can see more ideas, all photos have tutorial, just follow the links provided in the legend ;)

Já vos mostrei a minha árvore de Natal e enfeites, falta mostrar os enfeites bordados :) Ao longo dos anos já fiz alguns e ofereci todos quanto fiz! LOL

Não tenho nenhum feito por mim mas tenho alguns que recebi das amigas :) Estão estrategicamente espalhados pela casa, pendurados aqui e ali, conforme os estilos e cores melhor se enquadram na divisão ;) Pela blogosfera tenho visto várias ideias e displays bonitos, apenas com os enfeites bordados, queria fazer igual na minha casa e hoje encontrei uma peça que me agradou :)

Uma pequena árvore em ferro escuro, acho que vai ficar bonita sobre a mobilia branca do meu atelier, com os enfeites em ponto cruz :)

Gostava de vos mostrar o meu enfeite preferido de todos mas.. é um dos que ofereci este ano! Preciso esperar mais uns dias para chegar ao seu destino, mostro-vos em breve ;) Para o tema de hoje, vou pedir-vos fotos dos vossos enfeites em pontos cruz :) Qual o vosso preferido, o que mais gostaram de bordar? I've shown you my Christmas tree and ornaments but you haven't seen my cross stitched ornaments! Over the years, I've made a few and I've offered all! :) LOL I don't have any stitched by me but I have received some gorgeous ornaments from my friends :) I have all strategically displayed around the house, hung here and there, as the styles and colors best fit in the division ;) On the blogosphere I've seen several ideas and beautiful displays with only cross stitched ornaments, I wanted to do the same with mine and today I found a piece that I really like! A small tree in dark iron, I think it'll look very good on the white furniture in my craft room :)

I wish I could show you my favorite ornament from all I made but... it's one that I stitched this year! I have to wait a few more days until it reaches it's destination, I'll show you soon ;) For today's theme, I'm asking you for photos of your favorite cross stitched ornaments :) Which is your favorite, which one did you enjoy the most to stitch? Or do you have any ornament with a special story that you'd like to share?

Uma das partes mais gostosas do Natal são os doces! Aqueles doces tradicionais que se forem saboreados noutra altura do ano...
...não é a mesma coisa :p lol

Não posso falar da típica mesa portuguesa de um modo geral porque é muito diferente em todas as zonas do país. Pessoalmente, tenho influências de Lisboa - onde nasci - mas também Norte, foram muitos os Natais passados em Viana do Castelo com os meus avós e mais família :) Então, vou contar-vos do que costuma haver especificamente na minha mesa, as minhas preferências...
... e perdições!!! heheheh

Bolo rei!

Não há Natal sem Bolo Rei. Ponto final. Parágrafo. :D Lol Uma massa fofa recheada de frutas... delicia! Já comia uma fatia agora ;) hehehe Antigamente o Bolo Rei trazia um brinde e uma fava: a pessoa com sorte era aquela que encontrava o brinde (um pequeno pendente) e a quem apanhasse a fava saía-lhe a 'sorte' de pagar o próximo Bolo Rei :p Hoje em dia é proibido comercializar o Bolo Rei com 'extras' no recheio... coisas da ASAE :p

Lampreia de ovos

Noutra coisa que a doçaria tradicional portuguesa também prima é nos seus doces em quantidades industriais de açúcar e ovos. De norte a sul do país nao faltam iguarias que só podemos saborear um bocadito. Deliciosas de comer e chorar por mais mas há que ter cuidado e estimar o fígado pois só temos um :p Digo-vos sinceramente, são uma delicia para qualquer gulosa.. como eu! :D
A lampreia de ovos é presença garantida na minha mesa, o 'peixe' que mais adoro!!! hahahah De peixe só tem mesmo o nome e o formato, o recheio é puro açúcar e ovo ;)

Fatias douradas

Nos fritos, o mais popular são as rabanadas ou fatias douradas :)
Fatias de pão embebidas em leite adoçado, fritas e cobertas com canela e açúcar. Outra delicia! heheheh Mas, para mim, apesar de serem tão boas de comer, o mais divertido é fazê-las na manhã de dia 24! A manhã da véspera de Natal é sempre passada na cozinha, a fazer doces com a minha mãe, devidamente acompanhadas de uma garrafa de vinho do Porto...
... para os doces... e não só ;) LOL

Estou curiosa para saber quais são os doces mais característicos da vossa zona e quais os vossos preferidos!!! :D As minhas fotos são antigas mas vou tirar mais este ano para partilhar convosco no fim-de-semana!

I can't write about the typical Portuguese table in general because it's very different in all districts of the country. Personally, I have influences from Lisbon - where I was born - but also from the north of Portugal, where I spent many Christmases in Viana do Castelo with my grandparents and other family :) So, I'll tell you specifically what there's usually on my table, my preferences... and where I lose myself! heheheh

"Bolo Rei" = King Cake
There's no Christmas without King Cake. Period. :D Lol A soft dough filled with fruits... delightful! I could eat a slice right now ;) hehehe A few years ago King Cake brought a gift and a bean: the lucky person was the one who found the gift (a small charm) and the one who got the bean had the 'luck' to pay the next King Cake :p Today it's forbidden to sell King Cake with those 'extras' in the filling... :p

"Lampreia de Ovos" = Eggs Lamprey
Another thing very traditional in Portugual it's the desserts with industrial quantities of sugar and eggs. From north to south, there are many delicacies that one can only taste a little bit! Delicious to eat and to cry for more but we have to be careful... we have only one liver :p I can tell you, honestly, it's a delight for anyone who loves sugar... like me! :D The egg lamprey has a guaranteed presence at my table, the 'fish' I love the most! hahahah It's only the name and shape, the filling is pure sugar and egg ;)

"Fatias Douradas" = Golden Slices
In frying, the most popular are the Golden Slices :)
Slices of bread soaked in sweetened milk, fried and topped with cinnamon and sugar. Another delight! heheheh But for me, althought it's so good to eat, the fun part is to make it on the morning of 24th! The morning of Christmas Eve is always spent in the kitchen baking with my mother, with a bottle of Port Wine by our side... for the baking... and not only ;) LOL

I'm curious to know which are the most characteristic desserts on your Christmas table and which are your favorites! :D My photos are from years before but I'll take more this year to share with you on weekend!

Queria eu postar mais cedo no dia e chego a estas horas! :p Tenho de passar a preparar os posts no dia anterior ;)

Hoje vou continuar o tour pela minha casa, mais decoração de Natal! :) hehehe
Recordam-se da coroa de Outono que fiz para a minha porta da entrada? Adorei fazer aquela coroa e sem dúvida que farei mais para o próximo ano. Não o fiz para a época de Natal porque tenho uma que foi comprada há alguns anos atrás, para o primeiro Natal na nossa casa :)

Não é handmade mas é fofinha e continua em boas condições, por isso, acho desnecessário fazer outra quando não tenho mais nenhum lugar onde colocar esta. Guardo as ideias para quando começar a ficar danificada pelo tempo, por enquanto vou estimá-la :)

Para quem não tem ainda uma coroa de Natal, deixo-vos algumas sugestões que, na minha opinião, são super bonitas e têm muita classe para a época :D

Tonight I'll continue the tour around my house, more Christmas decoration! :)
Remember the Autumn wreath that I made for my front door? I loved doing that wreath and for sure I'll make more in the next year. I didn't make one for the Christmas season because I have one bought a few years ago, for the first Christmas in our home :) You can see mine on the first photo above, it's not handmade but it's cute and it's still in good condition, therefore, it's unnecessary to make another while I don't have another place to hang this. I'll save my ideas for when this starts to get damaged by time, for now I'm keeping my snowman wreath :)

If you don't have a Christmas wreath yet, I'm posting a few suggestions that, in my opinion, are super pretty and classy for the season :D And if wreaths are not your style, look at the last photo... have you seen it? So different and charming, isn't it?? I love, love, love it! :)

Quem não adora um embrulho bonito?? :) Eu adoro fazer embrulhos!
Acho que posso dizer que uma das minhas 'imagens de marca' são os grandes laços brancos :D heheheh

Mas de vez em quando gosto de inventar e fazer uns embrulhos diferentes, já no Natal do ano passado vos mostrei os embrulhos que fiz com papel crepe e os laços com fitas que usamos nos nossos crafts. Para este Natal, inspirei-me em mais uma ideia que encontrei online, papel craft :) Deviam ver a cara do Rui quando lhe falei que ía usar craft para os embrulhos :p hahahaha Mas garanti-lhe que tinha uma ideia gira para lhes dar cor ;) O Rui acreditou em mim e não perguntou mais nada, vocês acreditam também? :p

Usei o Pom Pom Maker mas há vários tutoriais online de como fazer facilmente pompons sem grandes acessórios. Deixo-vos algumas dicas: pompom simples, pompom arco-íris e um mais irreverente pompom de t-shirts! :)

Não sei se toda a gente vai gostar mas eu acho que está tão fixe :D
Adoro o montinho dos presentes com os seus pompons fofos e coloridos...

...com excepção de um! Há um presente diferente que é do Pai Natal :)
O Pai Natal que não faz embrulhos iguais aos meus, não acham? Temos que manter a coisa real ;) eheheheh

Everyone loves a gift on a pretty package! :) I love to wrap gifts!
I think I can say that one of my 'trade marks' is the big-curly-white bows :D heheheh (first picture above) But occasionally I like to pull a few ideas and make something different, last year I showed you my gifts wrapped with crepe paper and ribbons. This Christmas, inspired by another idea I found online, I'm using craft paper :) You should've seen Rui's face when I told him that I was going to use craft paper on the gifts :p hahahaha But I reassured him that I had a fun idea to give them color ;) Rui believed in me and didn't ask a thing, do you believe me too? :p

(Second picture) Lots of wool in all colors and what came out? Pom poms! :D
I used the my Pom Pom Maker but there are several tutorials online on how to easily make pom poms without any special prop! For example: regular pom pom, rainbow pom pom and another more irreverent t-shirt pom pom :)

I don't know if everyone will like it but I think it looks so cool :D
I love my pile of gifts with their cute and colorful pom poms... except one! That different gift is from Santa :) And Santa does not have the same wrapping paper that I have, right? We have to keep it real ;) eheheheh

12 days of Christmas °•● stockings

Hoje em dia é habitual ver meias de Natal para colocar presentes e pendurar sobre a lareira. Em Portugal, diz a tradição que o Pai Natal deixa prendas no sapatinho!! E quando eu era pequenina era assim que seguíamos a tradição, com os sapatinhos em cima do fogão por baixo da chaminé da cozinha! :D Numa casa sem lareira, é pela cozinha mesmo que desce o Pai Natal ;) LOL

Do Pai Natal tinhamos um presente que pediamos e no sapatinho um pequeno mimo - os sapatos eram pequeninos!! Queria eu calçar o 45 naquela altura para caber mais! ahhahahaha Havia sempre uma lembrança, algo pequeno mas especial e todos os anos diferente :)

Agora na minha casa tenho lareira mas nas meias de Natal nunca se colocam presentes porque são grandes ou pesados para as meias. Até ao dia em que encontrámos uma meia à nossa altura...

A verdade é que eu gosto de ver os embrulhos bonitos junto à árvore :) e as meias acabam por ser meramente decorativas. Por isso mesmo, acrescentei na lista de projectos mais uma ideia gira que encontrei pela net:

Uma grinalda de mini-meias para colocar sobre a lareira :D Não é a coisa mais cute?? Mega fofo!! =) Para combinar com o restante cá em casa, tenho de coleccionar meias de bebé em vermelho e branco, apenas nestas duas cores mas diferentes modelos para ficar um mix mais engraçado :D

É o presente mais pequenino mas também o mais importante, aqui vou colocar todos os presentes dos próximos dias por isso a vencedora terá muitos presentinhos do Pai Natal!! ;)

Nowadays it's common to see Christmas stockings hanging over the fireplace. In Portugal, tradition has it that Santa leaves gifts inside the 'little shoe'!! And when I was little this was how we followed the tradition, with the shoes above the stove under the kitchen chimney! :D In a house without a fireplace, the kitchen is where Santa Claus will be coming down ;) LOL

From Santa we always received one gift (that we had ask for) and a little surprise inside our shoe - we were small, our shoes were tiny!! At that time I wished I was a size 12 to fit more! ahhahahaha There was always something small but special and different every year :)

Now I have a fireplace in my house but we never put gifts inside the stockings because it's too big or too heavy. Until the day we found the perfect stocking size for our house... 1st picture above Lol :D

What really happens is that I like to see the pretty wrapped gifts below the Christmas tree :) and stockings become merely decorative. Therefore, I added to my list of projects a fun idea that I found online, a garland of mini-stockings :D Isn't that so cute? Totally adorable! =) To match with the rest around here, I have to collect baby socks in red and white, only in these two colors but different models to make it a funny mix :D

What about you, do you put your gifts under the tree or inside stockings? :) And how do you decorate your fireplace? Tell me about your childhood tradition, bring me links to photos / posts of your fireplace ready for Christmas or from where you put your Christmas stockings :)

O que seria do Natal se não andassemos sempre atrasados para alguma coisa? Tradição é tradição, não acham? :p eehhehe Falei que postava hoje de tarde mas a minha máquina fotográfica ficou sem bateria e por isso o post do dia vai sair um pouquito mais tarde, depois de jantar ;) Mas sai! hahahaha :D

Quero esclarecer algumas dúvidas em relação ao giveaway que expliquei no post anterior. Para entrarem no giveaway não precisam marcar presença todos os dias nem precisam postar nada! A única coisa que é preciso é chegar a dia 24 e terem comentado os posts referentes aos '12 dias de Natal' :) Só isso, ler o bloguito e deixar uma mensagem. E perguntam vocês: "O que são os 12 dias de Natal na Caixinha de Pirlimpimpim?" Preciso dar um descanso às minhas agulhas.. acho que já deitam fumo :p
No feriado de quinta-feira fiz um enfeite de Natal e este fim-de-semana fiz mais dois! Presentes e troquinhas, está tudo 100% pronto :) Só falta fechar os pacotes para enviar e... 'relax' :p

Tenho de começar a planear os próximos post... vai ser um non-stop daqui até ao Natal ;) A festa começa amanhã!!! :D

Para quem ainda não sabe, a Carol é minha sobrinha / afilhada :) É sempre um prazer bordar miminhos para a pequenita, para a minha cunhada ou para a minha mãe! As três sorriem com os meus presentes e sempre pedem outra coisa para lhes fazer a seguir... é sinal que gostam, não acham? :D

Eu também adoro receber presentes handmade, nesta altura tenho vários espalhados pela casa, presentes de todas as amigas que tenho recebido ao longo dos anos =) E esta semana chegou uma surpresa por aqui!!

Anjinhos vieram da Finlândia para me desejar um Feliz Natal =)

Um pacotinho recheado de carinho da Maija :D Gráficos fofos e até chocolates finlandeses que vieram a acompanhar uma linda tesoura em forma de anjo com o seu scissor fob também com um anjinho azul bordado :D

Ontem foi feriado em Portugal, um feriado católico sem nenhuma comemoração em especial.. básicamente um dia sem trabalho para ficarmos quentinhos em casa ;) ehehhe Eu aproveitei para bordar bastante, terminei um enfeite de Natal do inicio ao fim :D Para este fim-de-semana ainda vou bordar mais dois!

A partir de segunda-feira terminam as minhas tarefas e compromissos, estarei livre para bordar o ultimo bloquinho no Christmas Rules e tudo o mais que me apetecer :) E na terça começam os '12 dias de Natal' aqui no blog! Bom, isso é só na próxima semana ;) heheheheh

For those who don't know, Carol is my niece / goddaughter :) It's always a pleasure to stitch anything for my little girl, my sister-in-law or my mother! All three give big smiles with my presents and always ask me for something else to stitch next... that can only mean that they appreciate, don't you think? :D

I also love to receive handmade gifts, right now, I have several all around my house, gifts from friends that I have received over the years =) And this week a new surprise arrived!!

Angels came from Finland to wish me a Merry Christmas =)
A package filled with love and friendship from Maija :D The cutest charts and even chocolate from Finland next to a beautiful angel scissor and a precious scissor fob stitched with a blue angel :D Thank you Maija!! ♥ I haven't used the scissor yet but it's already on my desk, where I can admire it and enjoy the warmth of friendship :)

Yesterday was a holiday in Portugal, a Catholic holiday, no particular celebration... basically a day off work to stay warm at home ;) ehehhe I took my free time to stitch (a lot!), I made a Christmas ornament from start to finish :D This weekend I want to make two more!

After Monday i'll be free from tasks and commitments, free to stitch the last block on Christmas Rules and whatever else I feel like it :) And on Tuesday, '12 days of Christmas' begins here on the blog! Well, that's only next week ;) hehehehehe

Estou super contente por chegar a esta altura e já ter tudo prontinho para o Natal :) Os presentes handmade para a familia, os embrulhos debaixo da árvore, os postais com selos para seguir viagem até ao seu destino uhuuuuu Este pequeno elfo de natal merece uma estrela dourada!!! :D hahahahhaha

Os fins-de-semana em Dezembro sempre passam tão rápido!! Mais rápido que no resto do ano... ou será que sou eu que fico com menos tempo por conta das vezes que fico a olhar a minha árvore??? hehehehe Sentar-me no chão com uma chávena de leite chocolatado a aquecer-me as mãos enquanto olho aquelas luzinhas a piscar.. não há melhor =)

Demorei todo o feriado de quinta-feira para decorar a casa! Seleccionar o que queria colocar e onde, visualizar o que preciso comprar ou posso fazer para determinado espaço... ideias, ideias, ideias :D

Para começar, preciso fazer um tapete para a minha árvore! Não sei bem se faço um tapete para colocar debaixo dos pés da árvore ou a cobrir também os pés... quero algo que se alongue para fora da árvore e onde possa colocar os presentes e também o presépio. Querem me ajudar num brainstorming? :D

Tudo começa com uma busca de ideias pela web :)

Achei esta um charme :) Fazendo a base em vermelho ainda destaca mais as poinsétias branquinhas.

Weekends in December go by so fast! Faster than all the other months in the year... or is that because I spend so much time looking at my tree?? hehehehe Sitting on the floor with a cup of chocolate milk warming my hands while I look at those little sparkling lights... there's nothing better =)

It took me the whole Thursday holiday to decorate the house! Choose what I wanted to use and where to place it, see what I need to buy and what I want to make for a given space... ideas, ideas, ideas :D

To begin, I need to make a skirt for my tree! I'm not sure if I want a rug under the feet of the tree or a skirt to also cover the feet... I want it a little bigger to leave space to put the presents and also the nativity set. Who wants to join me on a brainstorming? :D

Like always, we start with a web search :)

I think the tree skirt on the first picture is just charming :) Making it in red would definitely highlight those white poinsettias. Or something more Christmas in wonderland like the second picture? I also like the next one but this may have a lot going on at the same time... too full? Or should I go for something to imitate the snow and nothing more ? :p

What do you think? Which solution is the cutest and would work out well with my Christmas tree decor? Feel free to give ideas, all will be very welcome! :)

Finalmente o dia 1 de Dezembro chegou!!! É dia de tirar as decorações de Natal de dentro das caixas e também dos meus sonhos! ahhahahah Há três noites que só passam enfeites de Natal na minha cabeça, quando chega esta época, sou mais ansiosa que uma criança de 5 snos :D LOL!!!

Já sabem como vou passar o meu feriado :D mas com certeza que ainda vai sobrar um tempinho para voltar aqui, postar fotos e responder aos emails :) Isso será mais loguito, agora.. quero respirar NATAL!!!! :D hehehehe

Finally December 1st is here!!! It's the day take all my Christmas decorations from the boxes and also from my dreams! ahhahahah I've been dreaming with Christmas ornaments for the last 3 nights, when this time comes, I'm more anxious than a 5 y.o. kid :D LOL!!!

You can see how I'll spend my holiday :D but for sure there will be some time to come back here, post pictures and reply to emails :) That's later, now... I want to breathe CHRISTMAS!!!! :D hehehehe

Ok, já desconfiava que desculpar-me com o Inverno pelo pouco progresso na Bluebell era coisa que não ía colar :p Mas não esperava encontrar tantas mentes perversas!! Ai esses comentários!! ;) LOL Curiosamente, a Cibele - mente mais perversa de todas hahahahahah - foi quem apanhou os factos! :)
O que acontece é que nesta fase de Natal há muitos presentes a preparar, algumas surpresas que devem ser guardadas por enquanto... foi difícil manter-me focada no meu bordado! =)

Desde que terminei o ultimo boneco de neve da Margaret Sherry, tenho bordado o presente de Natal para a minha mãe, são quatro paninhos para decorar a mesa e os balcões da cozinha. Muito que bordar :p

Foi para este conjunto que mudei de ideias no gráfico a bordar, recordam-se? Sim, aquele meu acesso de inteligência, momento em que troquei para uma coisa ainda maior quando o tempo já é pouco :p LOL Não há nada que não se faça com um bocadinho de boa vontade ;) hehehe

Como imaginam, ainda não posso postar fotos... mas posso mostrar as cores :)

Ok, I suspected that blaming Winter for my slow progress on Bluebell wouldn't work :p But I wasn't expecting to see so many dirty minds with your comments! :) LOL My friend Cibele - the most dirty mind of them all hahahahahah - was the one who got the facts right this time! :)

What happens is... Christmas! Christmas season is happening! Gifts to make, some surprises that should be saved for now.. it was hard to keep focus on my stitching during the weekend! =)

Since I finished my last Margaret Sherry's snowman, I started my mother's Christmas present, a set of four table cloths for her kitchen (on bigger for the table, three smaller for the counters). So much to stitch :p

Remember when I told you I changed my ideas on the design? Yes, that moment when cleverness ran away, when I switched to an even bigger design when time is already so short :p LOL There's nothing that it can't be done with a little good will :) hehehe

You have probably guessed, I can't post photos yet... but I can show you the colors :) Just looking at those threads... I was automatically inspired to stitch! :) Doesn't it look like a gorgeous Autumn color combo?? But the name of the design has the word Summer! lol Are you curious? :D

O meu fim-de-semana começou muito bem :) Além de começar o dia como uma criança aos pulos em cima da cama :D hahahhaha Tivemos um dia sequinho, sem a prevista chuva, foi excelente para sair de manhã, passear, fazer umas compras e ainda cuidar do jardim ao chegar a casa. Deu tempo para tudo e mais alguma coisa! Não há dúvida nenhuma de que os dias de Sol têm uma energia extra :D

Nas compras, descobri algo que queria já no ano passado e não sabia onde achar! Recordam-se quando cheguei a ponderar 'desmembrar' uma árvore para enfeitar o corrimão da escada? LOL Tinha visto as grinaldas pela web mas nunca encontrei à vendas nas lojas. No meu post deram-me algumas sugestões mas como estava muito em cima da data, não consegui encontrar nada. Agora já tinha a grinalda na mira ;) ehehehe sabia que tinha de procurar cedo e voilá:

Ainda não tenho a decoração na casa, como vos contei antes, só no dia 1 de Dezembro. Mas, curiosa com a novidade... tive de retirar a grinalda da embalagem, ver como era, se ficava bem no corrimão.. Depois do trabalho que deu para colocar, bem que a grinalda já vai ficar onde está!! :p haahhaha

Agora vou pegar no meu entusiasmo e dedicar-me à Bluebell :) Segunda-feira mostro-vos o progresso, vamos ver até onde conseguirei bordar, acho que ficará muito pertinho do fim!!! Bom fim-de-semana para vocês :D

My weekend started pretty well :) Besides the fact that I started the day jumping on my bed like a kid :D hahahhaha We had dry weather, without the expected rain, it was great to go out in the morning, stroll, shopping, and still take care of the garden when we got home. There was time for anything and everything! No doubt that sunny days have an extra energy :D

Shopping this morning, I found something I wanted last year and didn't know where to buy! Do you remember when I considered to buy a tree to break apart into pieces and make a garland for the stair handrail? LOL I had seen it on the web but never on stores. I had some suggestions on that same post but we were already too close to christmas day, I couldn't find anything. Now, I had my goal in mind ;) ehehehe I knew I had to look for it early and voilá!
I found it! :D uhuuuuuuu

I haven't decorated the house yet, as I told you before, only on December 1st. But I was curious... I had to remove the garland from the package, see how it is, if it looks good... After all the work to put it in place, the garland will stay where it is already! :p haahhaha

Now I'm taking my enthusiasm to stitch Bluebell :) Monday I'll show you the progress, let's see how much I will be able to stitch, I think she will be very close to be finish! Wish you all a great weekend :D

Breaking Dawn

Este filme foi mais parado que os anteriores mas não deixou de ser intenso. É o capitulo do casamento, lua-de-mel, romance, romance e romance hehehhe Mas com muitos bons pedaços de humor à mistura, mesmo muitos! LOL :D

O filme tem alguns 'twists', alguns detalhes que mudaram em relação ao livro e até que faz sentido, especialmente no final (para puderem fazer o corte, a separação dos dois filmes precisava ficar bem ligada, compreendi isso). Também se fosse tudo igual ao livro não ficava nenhuma expectativa para a sala de cinema, não acham? :p

Tenho de dizer que houve uma cena que realmente não gostei... Quem é que se lembrou de colocar os lobisomens a falar quando estão na sua onda de telapatia?!? Por favor, parece uma cena de um filme da Disney! Chega a dar para rir de tão mau que é!! Ah! E mais um detalhe.. por favor, tragam o cabeleireiro antigo!!! Passou-se algo de muito mau com os novos penteados do Carlisle e do Jasper! (o que é que aconteceu ali?!)

Só mais uma coisa, quando os créditos começam... não quer dizer que o filme tenha acabado ;) Fiquem sentadinhos na cadeira e assistam ao que metade da sala perdeu porque já tinham saído :p heehhehe

Que venha o Breaking Dawn Part II, estou ansiosa por alguma acção!! :D

This movie was slower than the previous ones but it was still intense. It's the chapter of the wedding, honeymoon, romance, romance and romance hehehhe But with many good doses of humor into the mix, really, many! LOL :D

There are some 'twists' on the movie, some details have changed from the book but it makes sense, especially at the end (so they can make the cut, leave both parts well connected, I can see the point). If it was exactly the same as in the book, there wouldn't be any expectation for the movie theater room, right?

I have to say, there was a scene that I really didn't like... Who had the idea to make the werewolves speak when they are communicating in their telepathy mode?!? Please, it looks like a scene from a Disney movie! It's so bad that it makes us laugh! Oh! And one more thing .. Please bring the old hairdresser! Something went terrible wrong with the new hairstyles for Carlisle and Jasper! (what happened there?!)

Just one more thing, when the credits start... it doesn't mean that the movie is over ;) Stay in your seat and enjoy what half the people in the room lost because they had already left :p heheheh

Bring Breaking Dawn Part II, I'm anxious for some action! :D

Há alguns dias atrás recebi um bonito postal de Outono junto com alguns gráficos que a June gentilmente ofereceu :)

E logo na semana seguinte, mais um postal da June, desta vez porque acertei no seu bordado mistério e por isso ganhei uma linda meada da Polstitches!

Ontem chegou outro pacotinho gostoso, da Ana, um maravilhoso pedaço de linho vindo directamente do Brasil! Adorei o toque, a cor, perfeito! Até já sei algo que vou bordar nos próximos dias ;)

O detalhe do lacre do Atelier Caseiro é sempre um charme!! =)

O sr. carteiro também deixou aqui umas comprinhas que fiz online, estava ansiosa por receber!! Linho, gráficos e meadas para um bordado que quero começar no próximo mês - sobre este conto-vos mais em breve ;) - e o meu novo Q-snap!

O meu bastidor de 22,5cm já não era suficiente para a Bluebell, precisava de um upgrade para 27,5cm. Aproveitei a onda e comprei umas extensões que adaptam os 27,5cm para 35cm e acho que estou bem servida de bastidores! Não penso usar nenhum maior que isto senão preciso começar a treinar levantamento de pesos! :p ehehhhehe

E hoje... é noite de Twilight!!!! uhuuuuu :)

A few days ago I received a beautiful autumn card along with some charts kindly offered by June :) And the week after, another sweet card from June, this time because I found out her mystery stitching and so I won a thread by Polstitches! It's so pretty!! =) Once again, thank you June! :D

Yesterday, another package arrived, from Ana, a gorgeous piece of linen coming straight from Brazil! I love the texture, color, it's perfect! I already know something to stitch on it very soon ;) Look at the wax seal, charming! =)

Mr. postman brought some things that I ordered online and I was so anxious to get!! Fabric, charts and threads for something that I want to start stitching in December - I'll tell you more about this soon ;) - and my new Q-snap! My 9" snap frame was too small for Bluebell now, it needed an upgrade to 11"; I also bought extensions to make it into 14" and I think I'm good on frames! I don't think I'll be using any size bigger than this, otherwise I'll have to start training some weight lifting! :p ehehhhehe

And tonight... it's Twilight time!! uhuuuuu :)

No Domingo fiz um intervalo nos bordados e dediquei-me à tarefa para a aula de crochet, fazer umas luvas sem dedos:

Ainda não estão finalizadas mas já se vê o espaço para os polegares heheheh dá para entender que são as duas mãos :) Falta costurar para fechar as luvas mas para isso tenho de esperar a próxima aula.

Agora, é preciso aquecer as agulhas para bordar o presente de Natal para a minha mãe! Mudei a minha ideia inicial, optei por um gráfico diferente com cores muito bonitas mas.. com bastante mais a bordar :p Teria sido mais esperta se mudasse para algo mais simples e rápido, não era? Às vezes a esperteza foge! O que se pode fazer?! LOL!! :D

On Sunday I took a break on cross stitching, I had an assignment for crochet school: wrist warmers! It's not finished yet but you can see the space for the thumbs heheheh both hands done :) Next class, we will learn how to seam.

Now I need to warm up my needles to stitch the christmas gift for my mother! I changed my original idea, I chose a different chart with beautiful colors but... with plenty more to stitch :p I'd have been smarter to pick something easy and quick, right? Sometimes cleverness runs away! What can a girl do?! LOL! :D

Já vos mostrei um bocadinho do que será o meu Natal este ano, viram um pouco de alguns presentes, novos itens para a decoração da casa... e ainda nem em Dezembro estamos! Preparem-se porque eu sou uma fã incondicional da época natalina!!! (quase ninguém sabe! :p LOL!)

No blog de fãs da Margaret Sherry estamos a fazer o nosso segundo SAL, duas figurinhas bem amorosas, uma delas é este Pai Natal:

Fiz uma ligeira alteração, o gráfico sugere um pompom no topo do gorro, optei por bordar com linha Lana da Madeira (que ainda me sobrou do kit Winter Friends da Gorjuss). E já que ía bordar o pompom, porque não fazer o mesmo efeito nas mangas do casaco? Acho que ficou engraçado :)

Agora vou terminar de bordar o bonequinho de neve que está quase pronto :)

You've seen a little bit of what my Christmas will be this year, some sneak peeks on the gifts, new items for the home decoration... and we are not even in December! Get ready because I'm a big fan of the Christmas season!!!! (almost no one knows! :p LOL!)

On Margaret Sherry's fan blog we're having our second SAL, two cuties to stitch, one of them is this Santa :)

I made a slight change, the chart suggests a pompom on top of the hat, I chose to stitch it with Lana thread by Madeira (I had a bit left from my Gorjuss Winter Friends kit ). And since I was going to stitch the pompom, why not make the same effect on the sleeves of the jacket? I think it worked out well :)

Now, getting back to my needles, my snowman is almost done :)

A decoração da casa começo só no inicio de Dezembro mas quando lá chego já tenho quase todos os presentinhos para colocar debaixo da árvore. Gosto de ir pensando nos presentes com antecedência, especialmente quando são handmade em que o tempo é um factor essencial! Não me integro na maioria de portugueses que deixa sempre tudo para a última da hora :p hehehehe

Recordam-se do post em que escrevi sobre o caminho de mesa para a minha cunhada? Com um design da Rico, peguei em duas árvores de Natal diferentes, alguns flocos de neve, adaptei à minha peça para bordar e saiu algo assim:

Tal como fiz no ano passado, vou mostrar apenas um bocadinho dos presentes que faço, depois do Natal prometo que revelo as peças completas! :D

Quanto aos presentes da Carol, posso mostrar pois não há risco de que a pequenina venha ler o meu blog! :p LOL Barbies, kittys e nancys.. como qualquer menina adora! A Barbie com o seu cavalo estava na lista para o Pai Natal (sim, seis aninhos e o Pai Natal ainda existe), a outra Barbie é porque a Carol adora vestidos e purpurinas, a Kitty.. foi um achado! Acho que será um presente perfeito :)

A foto seguinte explica melhor o que é esta Kitty, é um armário que se abre em duas parte e no interior tem todo um rol de papelaria! Folhinhas, lápis para pintar, autocolantes, deco tapes, há de tudo ali dentro! hahahaha

Embora a Carol sempre recheie a carta ao Pai Natal com todo o tipo de bonecas, acho que esta Kitty será a companheira ideal de muitas horas de brincadeira :) Ela adora pintar, fazer desenhos e colagens. Como não vou a Lisboa tantas vezes quantas gostaria no ano, de vez em quando mando-lhe um livro com uma cartinha dentro, com autocolantes e coisinhas assim que ela gosta e sempre me pede. Acho que este armário secreto vai ser um sucesso para a criança ;) Estou quase a comprar um para mim! hahahahaha :D

Quem tem alguma memória do presente que mais gostou de receber no Natal? Eu recordo-me de escrever uma carta apenas com risquinhos e ondas, a minha mãe ao meu lado dizia que o Pai Natal iria entender tudo.. não é que entendeu mesmo?? hahahahah Recebi o meu Careca (o Nenuco daquele tempo!) :D hahahhaha

I start to decorate the house on 1st December but when I get there I have almost all the gifts ready to put under the tree. I like to get something for everyone soon, especially when it's something handmade (for that time is essential!) I'm not part of the majority of Portuguese people who always leaves everything to the last minute :p hehehehe

Do you remember the post I wrote about the tablecloth for my sister in law? With one chart by Rico Designs, I picked two different Christmas trees and some snowflakes, I had to adapt the design to my tablecloth but it worked pretty well :) I can only show a sneak peek for now but, just like I did last year, I promise I will show all after Christmas! :D

As for Carol's gifts, those I can show because there's no risk the little girl will come read my blog! :p LOL Barbies, Kittys, Nancys... like every girl loves! Barbie with the horse was on her list for Santa (6 y.o. and Santa still exists), another Barbie because she loves doll's dresses and glitter (how she loves glitter!!!) and last Hello Kitty secret closet... I think this is the perfect gift :)

The third picture above explains better what this secret closet is, it opens in two parts and inside has a whole list of stationery! Pretty papers, pencils, stickers, deco tapes, everything is in there! hahahaha

Although Carol always asks Santa for all kinds of dolls, I'm pretty sure that this closet will be the ideal companion for many hours of fun :) She loves to paint, make collages and drawings. I don't go to Lisbon as often as I'd like to so, every now and then, I send her a book with a little letter inside, with stickers and little things that she likes and always asks me. I think this secret closet will be a success for the child ;)I'm almost buying one for myself! hahahahah :D

Who has some memory of a favorite toy received at Christmas? I remember writing a letter to Santa with only stripes and waves, my mother on my side saying that Santa would understand... and he did!! hahahahah Santa gave me my newborn doll ('Nenuco' from the old days!) :D hahahhaha

A única coisa boa do Inverno: o Natal!!! Há dúvidas? :D hahahhaha

Por aqui ainda não decorei a casa, embora já haja alguma vontade de o fazer, mantenho a tradição de criança e faço-o apenas no dia 1 de Dezembro :) Até lá, vou vendo as novidades nas lojas e procurando enfeites diferentes para colocar na minha árvore, como estes dois:

Adorei o Pai Natal branquinho :) Pena que não dá para mostrar direito na foto o tecido do gorro... não é liso, tem uma textura diferente que é um charme! Todos os enfeites para a minha árvore são em branco e vermelho, por isso este cai mesmo bem e foge à esperada cor vermelha para o Pai Natal ;)
A bola transparente tem relevo e a foto não lhe faz justiça! É muito complicado fotografar objectos que insistem em reflectir a cor do céu que se vê pela janela! :p hahahaha Quando ao nosso novo amigo da primeira foto, esse ainda tem uma surpresa que vou mostrar mais tarde.. merece um vídeo!! ;)

E vocês, já se deixaram levar pelo clima natalício e decoraram os cantinhos à casa? Qual é a vossa parte preferida da decoração? Montar a árvore? Decorar as portas? Colocar velas e cheirinhos pela casa? Enfeitar o exterior/jardim? Eu adoro acender as luzinhas e ficar ali a vê-las piscar, adoro =)

I haven't started the decoration on the house, although there's some willingness to do so, I'm keeping my childhood tradition and do it just on 1st December :) Until then, I look for new and different ornaments to put on my tree, like the two on the picture above :)

I love white Santa :) Sadly the photo doesn't show the fabric on the hat... it has a different texture and it's so charming! All the ornaments on my tree are red and white, so this one will look really good and stays away of the expected red color for Santa ;) The transparent ornament has relief and the picture doesn't make justice to it as well! It's very difficult to photograph objects that insist on reflecting the color of the sky seen through the window! :p hahahaha About our new friend from the first picture, there's a surprise here that I will show you later... needs a video! ;)

What about you, are you into the Christmas spirit and decorating the corners of your house? What is your favorite part of the decor? Assembling the tree? Decorate the doors? Place candles and scents all over the place? Decorate outside / the garden? I love turning on the lights and sit there watching them blink, love it =)

O S.Pedro foi nosso amigo e deu-nos um fim-de-semana de céu bonito :) Continua cada vez mais frio mas pelo menos parou a chuva, especialmente ontem, o sol a brilhar até convidou a ir um pouco ao jardim. Não sei como os passarinhos andam todos contentes com estas temperaturas tão baixas! Pensei que já estariam escondidos em algum lado hehehe ainda tentei tirar algumas fotos mas não apanhei o momento.

Mas fotografei muitas outras coisinhas para partilhar convosco :D
Como na semana passada não consegui vos mostrar os meus bordados, vou começar por aí, as minhas primeiras cruzinhas de Novembro :)

Mais um bloquinho no meu SAL do Christmas Rules, com umas das regras mais bonitas da época de Natal, 'Dá mais do que recebes' :)

Um postal de aniversário para a minha priminha Rosie que faz um aninho esta semana =) Ok, não resisti em fazer mais um cupcake :p heheheh Mas achei engraçado este bolo com 1 velinha para o aniversário de 1 aninho ;)

A base é um postal que veio num kit de oferta de uma edição antiga da revista Cross Stitcher. Ao fazer isto deu-me uma ideia... o postal é estampado apenas na frente, dobrado a meio e o interior branco... não é difícil de fazer em casa com qualquer outro desenho a gosto! Só precisamos de utilizar umas folhas um pouco mais resistentes do que a gramagem normal e temos um postal bonito para aplicar um bordadinho na frente :) Prático e fácil!

Hoje fico por aqui, vou deixar algumas novidades para contar no post de amanhã ;) Uma excelente segunda-feira para todos!!! :D

St. Peter was our friend this weekend, gave us sunshine and a beautiful sky :) The cold is getting worst but at least the rain stopped, especially yesterday, the sun was inviting to spend a little time on the garden. I don't know how the birds sing all happy with these low temperatures! I thought those guys would be hiding somewhere else by now hehehe I tried to take some photos but no luck.

But I did take a lot of other photos to share with you :D Last week the weather didn't let me post pictures of my cross stitch so I'll start with that, my first xxx-stitches in November :)

I started stitching on my SAL, one more block on Christmas Rules with one of my favorite rules for the Christmas season, "Give more than you get' :)

And I made a birthday card for my little cousin Rosie =) Ok, I couldn't resist stitching one more cupcake :p heheheh but I found this cake with a single candle perfect for the little girl who's turning 1 year old ;) The back that I used for the card came in a gift kit from a back issue of Cross Stitcher magazine. Doing this gave me an idea... the card is printed just in the front, folded in half and white inside... it's not hard to do it at home with any other design we'd like! We just need to use some paper a little thicker than regular paper and we'll have a beautiful back to make any kind of card :) So easy!

I'm ending here today, leaving some things to tell on another post tomorrow :)

light festival!!

Ontem foi a festa das luzes, com luzes de relâmpagos e sem luz eléctrica em casa :p À noite o mau tempo era tal que a electricidade ficou instável, ora caía, ora voltava. Optámos por apagar tudo e ficar com a bateria do portátil, sem net por conta do router desligado mas sempre pudemos ver um filmito :)
Abençoada tecnologia!! LOL

E mau tempo é sinónimo de que.. não há fotos! Os dias estão cinzentos por demais, está dificil de apanhar uns raios de sol, umas abertas entre as nuvens! Espero ter oportunidade de fotografar os meus bordados este fim-de-semana.

Apesar do dia escuro por culpa da chuva e da noite iluminada por relâmpagos.. ainda há umas coisinhas boas para contar :) heheheeh Quem é que está a fazer contagem decrescente para a estreia de 'Breaking Dawn'?? Já sabem que não sou uma Twi-fanática mas adoro o enredo da saga e aprecio bastante os filmes, como qualquer romântica que se preze =) ehehehhe O próximo filme estreia em menos de duas semanas e eu evito ler o que quer que seja que rola pela net, não quero ver imagens fora de contexto, prefiro ser surpreendida quando assitir ao filme e ver tudo pela 1ª vez, não estragar a mistica ;)

Mas quando se anda pela web às vezes encontramos coisas sem querer, eu encontrei duas.. a banda sonora e uma maneira de ganhar bilhetes para a ante-estreia :D Nem tudo é mau! ahahahah Ganhámos dois bilhetes, lá terá o Rui de me levar ao cinema no dia 16 à meia-noite :D hahahaha Não sei se teremos mais um bom filme mas a banda sonora já me conquistou o coração, especialmente com esta "A Thousand Years" da Christina Perry =)

Bom fim-de-semana para todos!!! :)

Yesterday was the festival of lights, with lightning outside and no electric light inside :p Last night the weather was so bad that electricity was really unstable, falling - coming back - falling again. We decided to turn everything off and stay with the laptop battery, router off so no internet but we could watch movies :)
Blessed technology! LOL

And bad weather also stands for... no photos! Gray days, it's hard to catch any sun beam, some opening between the clouds! I hope to have the opportunity to take photos during the weekend.

Despite the dark days of rain and the night lit by lightning... there are still a few good things to share :) heheheeh Who's doing the countdown to watch 'Breaking Dawn'? You know that I'm not a Twi-hard fan but I love the plot of the saga and I really enjoy the movies, like any self-respecting romantic girl =) ehehehhe The next movie is coming in less than two weeks and I avoid reading whatever is going on the web, don't want to see images out of context, I prefer to be surprised when watching the movie, seeing all for the 1st time so it won't spoil the mystic ;)

But, sometimes we find things by accident, I found two... the soundtrack and a way to win tickets to the premiere :D It's not all bad! Ahahahaha We won two tickets, oh well, Rui will have to take me to the cinema on the 16th at midnight :D hahahaha I don't know if we'll have one more good movie but the soundtrack won the heart already, especially with this "A Thousand Years" by Christina Perry =)

I hope to return on the weekend with lots of pictures to post!

tricotin - FAQ

Gostei muito de ler todos os vossos comentários no meu post sobre o tricotin, fico contente por vos trazer novidades e saber que acham interessante as coisas que aqui partilho :D Como foge à temática dos bordados, não imaginei que o meu tapete vos despertasse tanta curiosidade! É um prazer responder a todas as vossas questões mas, em vez de repetir o mesmo diversas vezes por email, fica mais fácil um post de resposta geral ;)

Onde comprei o tricotin?
Na loja habitual onde costumo comprar o material para ponto cruz. Acredito que encontrem em qualquer loja que venda artigos para tricot/crochet.

Já costurei a parte que está feita?
Nope! Ainda não. Acho que seria mais fácil se começasse já a unir o cordão mas ainda não tenho bem a certeza do formato que farei, estou a deixar crescer mais um pouco para fazer a escolha definitiva. A ideia inicial é fazer redondo mas também existe a hipótese do formato oval.

Como vou unir?
Com a mesma lã e costurando à mão. Pode-se unir pelo verso em cruz mas prefiro fazê-lo entre as camadas do cordão de forma a ficar um ponto invisível. Além de ficar um acabamento mais perfeito também fica uma peça que poderá ser usada de ambos os lados ;)

Que tamanho pretendo fazer?
Ok.. aqui vão chamar-me de doida :p Perto de 2m de diâmetro :) Já sabem porquê que é um projecto para todo inverno! hahahahah Na última foto a peça pode parecer grande mas acreditem que ainda não tem nem 50cm de diâmetro! Vai levar bastantes novelos e bastantes semanas para concluir mas com calma tudo se faz, não há pressa ;)

Detalhe: para quem se espantou com o avanço entre as duas fotos, lembrem-se que a primeira foto era do fim-de-semana anterior, não do dia em que a postei! Talvez vos tenha parecido que avancei muito rápido porque pensaram que foi em três dias, o intervalo entre os posts heheheh Nope, os quase 50cm de tapete foram de toda uma semana :p

É algo que se faz bem num furo durante a hora de almoço, à noite depois de um dia de trabalho, qualquer intervalo de tempo é um pedaço que se avança sem ser preciso estar a olhar um gráfico ou a exigir muita concentração ;) Mas como também não vou parar os bordados para me dedicar exclusivamente ao tapete, isto avançará aos poucos. Irei vos mostrando o avanço :)

I really enjoyed reading all your comments on my post about the tricotin, I'm happy to share new things with you and also happy to know that you find my posts interesting :D Because it's something that goes away from the cross stitching theme, I didn't imagine my rug would arouse so much curiosity! It's a pleasure to answer all your questions but, instead of repeating the same several times by email, it's easier to post an overall reply ;)

Where did I buy my tricotin?
At the local store where I usually buy all cross stitch stuff. I believe you can easily find it in any store that sells items for knitting / crochet.

Is it sewed what is already done?
Nope! Not yet. I think it would be easier if I started to put the cord together but I'm not really sure which shape will I make, I'm letting it grow a little longer to make the final choice. The initial idea is to make it circular but I can also do it in oval shape.

How will I put it together?
Using the same wool and sewing by hand. You can sew crosses by hand on the back but I prefer to do it between the layers of the cord, this way stitches won't be visible and we get a neater finish. Also, we get a rug that can be used on both sides ;)

How big do I plan to make it?
Ok. here you'll call me crazy :p Close to 2m (78") in diameter :) Now you know why it's a project for the entire winter! hahahahah It may look big on my last wip picture but believe me it has not even 50cm (20") in diameter! It will take plenty of yarn balls and plenty of weeks to complete but it can be done, there's no rush ;)

Note: for those who where surprised with the progress between the two photos, remember that the first picture was from the weekend, not from the day I posted it! Some people thought I did that pretty fast but it's progress from an intire week, not only 3 days between the 2 posts heheheh

It's something we can easily make in a break during the time left of the lunch hour, in the evening after a long day of work, without having to look at a chart or stay very focused ;) any bit of free time is a little more forward on the piece. But I'm not stopping my cross stitch and dedicating my time exclusively to the rug, so it will grow slowly. I'll be showing you the progress :)

doçura ou travessura * trick or treat

Toda a gente recuperada dos sustos da noite de ontem? E da dor de barriga por conta dos doces? :p hehehe

Em Portugal, o Dia das Bruxas ainda é um fenómeno muito recente, nos últimos anos começou a surgir nas escolas e julgo que aos poucos terá tendência para crescer. Embora os festejos ainda sejam muito pequenos por aqui, é sempre uma boa oportunidade para reunir os amigos e decorar a casa num ambiente diferente. Afinal, toda a desculpa para uma festa é sempre uma boa desculpa ;)

Ontem o Rui disse-me que passou por um barulhão no centro da cidade, que com certeza, eu teria adorado! Pensei no barulho das obras que estão a fazer na cidade e logo respondi ironicamente 'Sim, porque eu adoro barulho' :p E o Rui continua a contar 'Centenas de crianças pequeninas e mascaradas a berrar Doçura ou Travessura!!' ahahahha Isso é verdade, eu teria adorado assistir a essa cena :D Parece que berravam tanto que já era uma travessura da parte dos pequeninos =) hihihi O suficiente para o Rui ficar assustado de tal modo que nem se lembrou de tirar uma foto com o telemóvel para me mostrar, falha gravíssima! hahahah Sem dúvida que eu ía achar a maior graça a esta cena ao vivo e a cores :D

Sei que a Carol, a minha afilhada, se mascarou de bruxa pela manhã e de aranha à noite. Sim, duas máscaras para um só dia, a Carol também sabe o que é festa ;) hahahahaha Ainda não vi as fatiotas (estou a aguardar que me mandem fotos) mas já me contou um pouco por telefone hoje :)

Passado o Halloween e já se começa a ver o Natal mais pertinho, principalmente para quem gosta de coisas handmade como nós, não é verdade? :) É preciso começar cedo para dar tempo de fazer os presentinhos, eu comecei este fim-de-semana. Vou dar duas semaninhas de intervalo na Bluebell para adiantar as prendas e depois volto à fadinha com mais calma ;)

Este post já está a ficar muito extenso.. deixo para vos contar amanhã sobre os meus crafts e também para responder a todas as questões sobre o tricotin. Ninguém ficou esquecido não, estou seriamente atrasada nos meus emails *vergonha* =) mas eu chego lá ;) hehehe Até amanhã!! :)

Has everyone recovered from last night's scares? And the stomach pain from the candies? :p hehehe

Some of you asked me about Halloween in Portugal, we call it 'The Witches Day' and it's still very recent. A few years ago, it started to emerge on schools and I think that it will gradually grow. Although the celebrations are still very small here, it's always a good opportunity to gather friends and decorate the house in a different way. After all, any excuse for a party is always a good excuse ;)

Yesterday, Rui told me he went through a lot of noise in the city center, for sure, I would have loved it! I thought about the noise of the construction works they are doing in the city and then ironically answered 'Yes, because I love noise' :p And Rui continues telling 'Hundreds of small children in costumes and screaming Trick or Treat!' ahahahha Yes, it's true, I would have loved to watch the scene :D It seems that they were screaming so loud that it was already a trick from the little ones =) hihihi Rui was scared enough, he even forgot to take a picture with his cell phone to show me later, serious flaw! hahahah Oohhh I wish I had seen it :D

I know Carol, my niece/goddaughter, was a witch in the morning and a spider in the evening. Yes, two costumes for a single day, Carol also knows what a party is ;) hahahahaha I haven't seen the 'outfits' yet (I'm waiting for photos) but she told me a bit on the phone today :)

So, Halloween is gone and we are getting closer to Christmas! Especially for those who love handmade things like us, right? :) We need to start early to make all gift in time! I started this last weekend, in a couple of weeks I'll get back to Bluebell ;)

This post is getting too long... tomorrow I'll tell you more about my crafts and I'll also answer to all questions about the tricotin. I haven't forgotten, I'm seriously behind on my emails *shame on me* but I'll reply to everyone =)

E não é que resultou?! Alguém levou a chuva embora, obrigada!! :D
Ontem melhorou e hoje está mesmo um dia lindo de sol :)

E como o prometido é devido, sai um post sobre o tricotin! Isto é a coisinha mais fácil de usar, sério, até para uma criança de 5 anos :) É só passar o fio à volta dos pinos e com a agulha de plástico passar as laçadas sobre casa pino. Mais nada, de inicio ao fim, fazemos apenas isto e criamos um cordão.

As finalidades são imensas! Até onde a imaginação nos levar pois isto dá para fazer as mais diversas coisas, desde flores a bonecos para as crianças, giros colares e pulseiras, alças para bolsas, enfeites, tanta coisa!

O que eu estou a fazer, a Annie acertou, um tapete :D

Para o meu craft room, não encontrava um tapete colorido como eu queria, decidi fazer! Handmade era a opção perfeita para o espaço que é ;) Pesquisei algumas ideias e resolvi fazer com um tricotin :) Fica fofo e macio, bastante agradável para quando me quiser sentar no chão, como sempre gosto de fazer hehehe E vai dar um ambiente engraçado ao espaço, acho que vai resultar bem. Quanto mais largas as voltas mais demora para crescer, só fiz dois novelos e serão precisos muitos até chegar ao tamanho necessário!!!
É o meu projecto para este Inverno :)

It actually worked!!! Someone took the rain away, thanks! :D Yesterday we had better weather and today a beautiful sunny day :)

And as promised, a post about the tricotin and what I'm making! This is the easiest thing to use, really, even for a 5 year old :) Just pass the thread around the pins and with the plastic needle we make loops above the pins. Nothing more, from start to finish, we just do that and it creates a cord.

There are many ways to use it! As far as our imagination takes us, we can make flowers, toys for children, cute necklaces and bracelets, straps for bags, ornaments, so much! What I'm doing, Annie got it right, a rug :D

I couldn't find a colorful rug as I wanted for my craft room, so, I decided to make one! Handmade was the perfect choice for this room ;) I searched some ideas and decided to make it using a tricotin :) It's fluffy and soft, very nice for when I want to sit on the floor, as I always do hehehe I think this will look fun and work really well. The wider the turns become, the longer it takes to grow, so it's a slow progress! It's my project for this winter :)

Alguém, por favor, leve esta chuva embora? Durante todo o dia não parou de chover, quanto mais queremos que páre.. mais chove!?! E como o S. Pedro não é de festas pequenas, ainda mandou trovoada quanto baste =/ Espero que estejam todos em casa, quentinhos e seguros, por aqui fazemos o mesmo ;)

Logo que tenha condições (mínimas!!) para conseguir tirar fotos, volto para vos explicar melhor como se usa um tricotin e o que eu estou a fazer com aquele cordão :) Mas.. uma pessoa acertou!!! heheheheheh Até amanhã!! :D

Até à semana passada, tivemos tempo seco e quente, o nosso Outono estava mais para Primavera (ou até mesmo Verão! é verdade, tivemos dias muito quentes). No fim-de-semana chegou o frio, drástica descida de temperatura, chuva torrencial, ventos muito fortes, trovoada... chegou o Inverno!! Há aqui uma estação que fugiu ao calendário este ano, saltámos o Outono :p

Com o frio também chega a constipação, é um pacote especial '2 em 1' ;) Ontem acabei a noite aos espirros. Mas isto de ver um arco-íris lindo logo pela manhã, dá uma inspiração extra, até com espirros a chatear-nos heheheheh

Comecei o meu novo Photo Blog :) algo que já tinha na ideia de fazer há muito tempo, faltava arrancar! É um espaço onde pretendo colocar fotos minhas, coisas esporádicas e do dia-a-dia, nada com história particular para contar como faço aqui neste blog. O Photo Blog será um projecto mais pessoal para alimentar o meu gosto pela fotografia, claro que as visitas são sempre bem-vindas, podem espreitar quando quiserem :) Vou colocar o link para o Tumblr nos corações da barra lateral ;)

E voltando a falar do meu fim-de-semana, do que andei a fazer com as minhas agulhas enquanto a chuva caía lá fora :) Preparadas??? Eis as fotos:

Until last week, we had warm and dry weather, it didn't look like Autumn, more like a second Spring (or even Summer! It's true, we had very hot days). Since the weekend we have cold, drastic drop in temperature, torrential rain, strong winds, thunderstorm... Winter has arrived! There's a season that ran off the calendar this year, we skipped Autumn :p

With the cold also comes sneezing , it's a special package '2 in 1' ;) But this thing of having a beautiful rainbow waiting for us in the morning, gives an extra inspiration even with the sneezing bothering us hehehehe

I started my new Photo Blog :) something that I had in mind for a long time! It's a space where I'll post my photos, random images on a daily basis, with no particular story to tell. My Photo Blog is more of a personal project to feed my love for photography, of course, visits are always welcome, you may peek as you want :) I'll put a heart icon with the link to Tumblr in the sidebar ;)

And back to my weekend, what did I do with my needles while the rain was falling outside? Well, to scroll down and read this, you've seen the pictures above :) I got Bluebell a whole dress, also legs and a new hairdo :D On the second pic, wool and my tricotin, can you guess what will come out of this?? :D

DIY °•● round ornament

Há duas semanas atrás, estive a explicar a uma amiga como faço os meus enfeites redondos, já que ando numa onda de tutoriais, fotografei o último que fiz. E se partilho com uma... porque não partilhar com todas? :)
A couple of weeks ago a friend asked me about how I make my round ornaments, so, I took some pictures when I finished my last snowman.
Sharing with one, why not share it with all? :)

Materiais: bordado, tecido para o verso, cartão, enchimento, cola branca, pincel, meada e molinhas para auxiliar :) O cartão e o enchimento já estão recortados na medida, o tecido e o bordado também recortei com a mesma forma redonda para facilitar a colagem e com margem ;)
Supplies: stitched piece, fabric for the back, card, batting, white glue, paintbrush, thread and little cloth spins to help :) The card and batting are already cut, the fabric and stitched piece I cut out with the same round shape but with a bit of margin ;)

Saem duas sanduíches!! :p heheheh
Tecido + enchimento + cartão para as duas partes
Two sandwiches coming out!! :p heheheh
Fabric + batting + card for both parts

Utilizo as molas para posicionar o tecido e não correr o risco que fique tudo descentrado ;) Pincelo cola branca no cartão e nas margens do tecido para que as pontinhas fiquem bem coladas. Depois de seco, volto a usar as molas para unir as duas partes uma à outra, com cola branca no meio.
I use the cloth spins to position the fabric and not to risk everything to be uncentered ;) Brush white glue on the card and the edges of the fabric so that the tips will bond really well. Once it's dry, I use the cloth spins to hold both parts, with white glue in the middle.

As partes unidas, falta apenas colocar o cordão para finalizar :) Mas não coloquei nenhum cordão na primeira foto, apenas uma meada, não foi?
Both parts together and it's time to finish with the cord :) But I didn't put any cord in the first picture, only one thread, right?

Did you know that by twisting a thread you can make a cord like this:

De certo que eu não inventei a roda, nem descobri a pólvora! hehehe
Aprendi isto com a Ruby, foi a técnica para fazer a corda do baloiço ;) Basta torcer as pontas até que a dada altura a meada torce-se sobre ela própria:
For sure I didn't invent the wheel or find out the gunpowder! hehehe I learned this with Ruby, this was the technique to make the rope for the swing ;) Just twist the ends until the thread coil by itself:

Usei verde e vermelho para verem melhor o efeito na foto, para o meu enfeite fiz apenas com uma cor. Isto é uma solução excelente para quando queremos um cordão com duas cores ou com uma cor especifica que não conseguimos encontrar na loja! :) Mais uma vez, cola branca em uso, aplica-se o cordão à volta do enfeite e voilá :D
I used green and red so you can see better on the pictures, for my ornament I made it with just one color. This is a great solution when we want a cord with 2 colors or when we can't find the exact color that we are looking for! :) Brush a bit of white glue, apply the cord around the ornament and voilá :D

Muito obrigada por todas as palavras simpáticas no progresso da Bluebell :)
Não vou começar nada novo por agora, pretendo aproveitar os furinhos de tempo durante a semana para preencher os furinhos no vestido azul ;) hehehe

Como sabem neste fim-de-semana voltei a bordar a minha fada, no outro fim-de-semana anterior finalizei o saco com a bruxinha... huummm... o que será que fiz neste intervalo? :p Estou numa disposição de terminar as coisas já começadas, por isso, saiu mais ufo da gaveta!!

Eeeeeeee palminhas para mim que finalizei um boneco de neve que já estava bordado desde o inicio do ano!!! hahahahah :D

E porque aprender nunca é demais, estou de volta à escola! :)

Estou a seguir um curso online de crochet, dado pela simpática Dana, do blog Craftyminx :) Já sabia umas coisinhas básicas mas afinal.. estou a reaprender! A corrigir aquilo que já fazia.. mal :p LOL e a aprender muitas coisas novas! Tem sido bem divertido :)

Começámos pelo b-á-bá, os pontos básicos...

... mas quem sabe se daqui a umas poucas semanas já não serei capaz de 'construir' alguma coisa!! :D Estou ansiosa por isso! :)

As you know, this last weekend I went back to my fairy, on the other weekend before I finished my little witch string bag... huummm... Anyone wondering what I did in between? :p I'm in the mood to finish things, so, one more ufo out of the drawer! Uhuuuu clap your hands for me because I finished a snowman that was already stitched since early this year! hahahahah :D

And because learning is never too much, I'm back to school! :)
I'm following the awesome crochet classes by Dana from Craftyminx :) I knew a few basic crochet things but... I'm relearning! Learning new things and fixing what I did - wrong :p lol - before! It's been really fun :)
Still have a lot to practice but, who knows, maybe in a few weeks from now I'll be able to actually 'build' something! :D I'm looking forward to it!

Ora bem, o meu fim-de-semana não foi passado numa onda eremita mas sem dúvida que participar no International Hermit and Stitch Weekend deu uma impulsionada extra para bordar! Aproveitei ao máximo o tempo que passei em casa para ter um bom progresso para postar aqui hoje :)

Falta completar alguns espacinhos e estou quase a terminar o vestido! Quer dizer, refiro-me à parte com linhas DMC, ainda há espaços para preencher com linhas Kreinik (meadas metalizadas de uma outra marca) e as missangas. Planeei bordar a minha fadinha por etapas: DMC » Kreinik » Caron Waterlilies » Contorno » Missangas

Pode-se dizer que, até estar terminada, ainda tenho 'alguns fins-de-semana' pela frente :p hehehehe Agora tenho muitos bloguinhos para visitar e toneladas de emails para responder!! Oh céus... :p

Well, my weekend wasn't really a hermit time but being part of the IHSW gave me an extra push to stitch! I took the most of my time at home to stitch and have a good progress to post here today :)

cupcakes de chocolate

Esta semana foi recheada de novos posts aqui no blog! Eu bem vos avisei, no inicio da semana, que tinha muita coisa para partilhar convosco :) e ainda falta a receita dos cupcakes! Pensaram que eu tinha esquecido? heheheh :p

massa: 6 ovos, 250 gr açúcar, 250 gr farinha c/fermento, 200 gr tablete chocolate, 150 gr manteiga

decoração: 4 dl de natas, 4 c. (sopa) de açúcar

Pré-aquecer o forno a 200ºC e colocar 24 forminhas de papel nas formas para o forno. Bater as gemas com o açúcar. Derreter o chocolate com a manteiga e juntar ao preparado das gemas. Bater as claras em castelo e envolver na massa, alternando com a farinha. Vai ao forno por 15 minutos.

Para a decoração, bater as natas com o açúcar para fazer o chantilly... coisa que eu não falhei miseravelmente!!! :p Depois de duas tentativas, resignei-me ao chantilly em lata! LOL Lá terei que fazer cupcakes mais vezes para treinar a cobertura ;) heheheh

O resultado...

...um sabor delicioso em forma de calóricas bombas de chocolate :D hahaha

This week was full of new posts here on my blog! Well, in the beginning of the week, I warned you that I had a lot to share :) and I haven't posted my cupcakes recipe yet! You thought I had forgotten, didn't you? heheheh :p

dough: 6 eggs, 250 gr sugar, 250 gr flour with baking powder, 200 gr chocolate tablet, 150 gr butter

decoration: 4 dl heavy whipping cream, 4 tablespoons of sugar

Preheat the oven to 200ºC and line 24 cupcake pans with paper liners.
Mix the yolks with the sugar. Melt the chocolate with the butter and add it to the yolks. Place the egg whites in a large mixing bowl and beat at high speed until egg whites are frothy. Add to the rest, folding gently between each addition and alternating with the flour. Bake for 15 minutes.

For decoration, chantilly, mix whipping cream with sugar... something I completely failed!! :p After 2 attempts, I resigned myself to chantilly in a can! LOL Looks like I need to bake cupcakes more often to pratice the frosting ;) heheheh

In the end, a delicious flavor in the form of caloric chocolate bombs :D hahahah

Fiquei muito contente com os vossos comentários no tutorial do último post, tinha receio que a minha explicação não fosse muito clara :p Fico contente que tenham compreendido bem! De qualquer modo, estejam à vontade para colocar questões/dúvidas, disponham! =) E não tenham receio de tentar fazer, é assim mesmo que se aprende, também comecei a errar e a desfazer (mais do que uma vez) até conseguir fazer direitinho. Faz parte ;)

Ainda tenho a minha primeira receita de cupcakes para postar mas antes não consegui resistir a vos mostrar uma outra coisinha :) Pela primeira vez, encontrei uma loja a vender artigos de papelaria da Gorjuss! Quer dizer, artigo, só tinha um tipo de bloquinho mas já me deixou contente :D hehehehe

Já lhe dei destino, é o meu novo diário de bordado :) hehehe Não vou anotar horas nem cronometrar tempos! Básicamente, é um bloquinho onde irei anotar os dias e as coisinhas que bordo. Isto vai me ajudar, por exemplo, com a Bluebell, para ter uma noção de quantas semanas/meses leva a bordar este projecto maior ;) Será também para anotar ideias de coisas novas para fazer ou dicas para finalizar as peças.. um diário para os crafts :D

Planos para este fim-de-semana? Bordar, bordar muito :)
Pela primeira vez, vou participar no International Hermit and Stitch Weekend! :) Para quem ainda não conhece, é uma actividade que ocorre a cada 3º fim-de-semana do mês, um grupo assume o compromisso de bordar durante os 2 dias e na 2ª feira seguinte cada qual posta o seu progresso e visita os restantes blogs do grupo. Já tinha intenção de passar o fim-de-semana a bordar, estou a aproveitar a oportunidade para experimentar algo novo e ainda conhecer algumas amigas pelo caminho! :D

E os vossos planos para o fim-de-semana? Faço o que fizerem, não se esqueçam de se divertir :D Só faz bem à saúde! ;)

I was so pleased with your comments on my tutorial from the last post =) I was afraid my explanation wasn't very clear, special in english :p I'm glad you all understood me well! Anyway, if you have questions / doubts, feel free to ask! And don't be afraid to try, that's exactly how we learn, I started making many mistakes until I got it right. It's part of the job ;)

I still have my first cupcake recipe to post but I couldn't resist showing you something else first :) I bought my first stitching journal :) For the first time, I found a store with Gorjuss stationery! Well, they had only one kind of notebook but that was enought to make me happy :D hehehehe I'll use it to write down what I stitch and the days, I won't be counting the hours, not that. With SALs and other things, I lose the notion of the time it takes to make something. This will help me with Bluebell, for example, with my stitching journal I will be able to know how many weeks/months took to stitch her ;) Also to write ideas for new things to do or tips to finish the pieces.. a craft journal :D

Não se esqueçam que sou amadora na arte das costuras :p Com a ajuda das fotos, vou tentar explicar como faço os meus saquinhos, qualquer dúvida perguntem! Terei todo o prazer em tentar explicar melhor :)

Don't forget that I'm an amateur in the art of sewing :p With pictures to help, I'll try to explain how I make my string bags. Any doubt, feel free to ask, I'll try to explain better :)

Notas sobre os tecidos a usar:
- tecido branco: com a mesma altura do bordado e 2cm a mais de largura. Não ficará visível, serve apenas de camada de fundo para não se ver a estampa/cor do tecido que ficará do outro lado
- tecido estampado, com mais 2cm de largura em relação ao bordado e o comprimento.. dependerá do tamanho do saquinho que querem fazer! Eu faço os saquinhos com forro por isso utilizo uma peça comprida para evitar muitas costuras. Mas vejam o tutorial até ao fim e irão perceber como funciona ;)

Notes about the fabric to use:
- White fabric, with the same height as the cross stitched piece and more 2cm wide. This won't be visible, it's only a layer so we won't see the print/color of the fabric that will be on the other side
- Printed fabric, also with more 2 cm in width and length.. depends on the size of the bag you want to make! I make my bags with the same fabric for liner so I use a long piece to avoid many seams. But follow the tutorial and you'll see how it works ;)

Marcar as margens do tecido branco, ficará com a mesma largura do bordado
Make the hems on the white fabric, this will have the same width as the cross stitched piece

Igual com o tecido estampado
The same with the printed fabric

Temos ambas as partes com a sua bainha e medida certa
We have both parts with the same measure

Agora a primeira costura, para unir o bordado a uma das pontas do tecido. Coloca-se a frente do bordado voltada para a frente do tecido estampado, unimos bem as pontas para ficar alinhado e segue para a máquina de costura
Now sew to join the bottom of the xxx-stitched piece with the end of the fabric. Place both parts facing the front, align well and move on to the sewing machine

O mesmo para o topo do bordado e o nosso verso fica assim:

A imagem seguinte é para vos explicar como está a peça neste momento (risco vermelho é o tecido estampado, azul é o bordado e a verde são as 2 costuras):
The next picture is to explain how the piece is right now (red is the printed fabric, cross stitched piece in blue and in green our two seams):

Agora vamos dobrar a peça a nosso gosto, com o tamanho que quiserem que fique de tecido estampado acima e abaixo do bordado. Posicionam como querem, dobram a meio e temos...
Now bend the piece, place the xxx-stitched part as you wish, fold in half and you have...

... o bordado costurado na frente e o forro perfeitinho ;)
Com o tecido bem dobrado a meio, marcamos os topos onde passará a fita
... the cross stitched piece placed on the front and a perfect liner ;)
With the fabric well folded in half, mark the edges for the ribbon

E costura-se em ambas a partes do saquinho
Sew both sides of the bag

Para finalizar, é só fechar as laterais, aqui deve-se costurar o mais na margem possível e a partir da costura anterior para baixo.
Finally, just close the sides, sew as closer to edge as possible and down from the previous seam

As margens de 1cm são apenas para uma finalização mais perfeitinha, podem ver na foto seguinte. Sem a margem estariamos a ver as extremidades do tecido e não ficava tão bonito. Não fiz o mesmo para o bordado porque o tecido é mais grosso e ía dificultar ao passar na maquina de costura, tenham cuidado com a grossura para não partir agulhas ;)
I make 1cm hems for a nicer finish as you can see in the picture below. Without the hems we would be seeing the end of the fabric. I didn't do the same for the stitched fabric because the fabric is thicker and would be troubling for the sewing machine, be carefull, we don't want to break needles ;)

Para fazer o fundo basta costurar as pontas do saquinho assim:

When I asked you to guess what I was stitching from JCS Halloween issue, I directed the question to anyone who had seen the magazine. After having the opportunity to browse it, I was hoping you to tell me which was the cutest chart, that one that would make you think 'this is totally Nia' :D hehehehe But no one guessed... looks like I'm not so predictable as I thought! LOL ;)

Here's the answer, a cute little witch that imediately won my heart with her friendly face and sweet smile :) I made a small change on the original chart, the star was supposed to be stitched but I chose to stitch a bit more on the moon and use a button instead :)

Destination for my little witch? A bag for candies :D

And I took lots of photos to share a tutorial with you! Well, since there were many requests to explain how I make my bags... I'm a little late but I'm here ;) LOL I'll post the tutorial on tomorrow's post, sorry for doing this in parts but it's a little harder to blog in two languages, it requires more time and also some organization in the posts... otherwise, no one will understand me ;)

summer is back!

Estamos mesmo a passar um época de Verão em pleno Outubro! Por aqui as temperaturas estão entre os 27-30ºC e parece que o Verão tardio está espalhado pela Europa. As estações do ano já não são o que eram antes! :p

Em Portugal foi feriado ontem, um dia de descanso do trabalho mas, como tivemos um aniversário na família, passei umas horitas na cozinha a fazer sobremesas. Com o calor que estava e ainda mais o calor do forno ligado.. foi dose enfrentar a cozinha :p Depois de fazer o meu bolo de chocolate desisti da ideia de fazer cupcakes, deixei esses para fazer no fim-de-semana ;)

Ainda sobrou um tempinho para as agulhas, comecei um gráfico da JCS Halloween 2011.. será que adivinham qual? :p Para quem já viu a revista, dêem lá um palpite, qual será o enfeite que escolhi fazer primeiro? Foi tão instantâneo quando lhe bati os olhinhos.. acho mesmo que é fácil de adivinharem, bastante óbvio ;) ehehehhe

Para fechar o meu post de hoje, uma foto das minhas últimas aquisições :)

Um tricotin e um cogumelo para costura :) Este cogumelo é uma versão moderna do tradicional ovo de madeira, não faço a mínima ideia se alguma vez vou realmente utilizá-lo mas... que tiveram uma ideia gira de fazer isto num cogumelo fofo, isso tiveram! :D hehehhehe

We're having a summer bliss in October! Around here the temperatures are between 27-30º C and it seems that this late summer is spread throughout Europe. Seasons are no longer what it used to be! :p

Yesterday was a holiday in Portugal, one day to rest from work but, as we had a birthday in the family, I spent a couple of hours in the kitchen making desserts. Having such a hot day and adding the heat from the oven on... it wasn't easy to stay in the kitchen :p After baking my chocolate cake I gave up the idea of baking cupcakes, I'm leaving those for the weekend ;)

There was a little time left for the needles, I started a chart from JCS Halloween 2011... can you guess which one? :p If you have seen the magazine, take a guess, which ornament have I chose to do first? It was such an instantaneous choice when I snapped my eyes on it... I really think that's easy to guess ;)

To close today's post, a picture of my latest acquisitions: a tricotin and a darning mushroom :) This mushroom is a modern version of the traditional wooden egg, I have no idea if I'll ever actually use it but ... I couldn't resist it! Such a fun idea to turn this into a cute mushroom :D hehehhehe

Depois de terminar o bloquinho de Outubro no Christmas Rules a peça voltou para a gaveta dos wips, como já é habitual, para esperar um novo mês chegar. Nessa altura, um bordadinho antigo chamou por mim :)

Um gráfico que bordei no ano passado mas que ficou de fora da lista dos finalizados porque me faltava uma tesoura zig-zag que na altura não tinha :p Antes de começar a bordar novos gráficos, achei melhor terminar este que estava em fila de espera ;)

Terminei de colocar as missangas no Domingo mas faltava a fitinha de organza, agora sim, enfeite concluído :D

Ainda na gaveta está o Photobooth Snowmen (é verdade!!! esse! LOL) e dois outros bonecos de neve que bordei no inicio do ano. Em breve aparecem por aqui finalizados :) Espero chegar ao fim de 2011 com a gaveta vazia, sem bordados a meio ou por finalizar! :p

After finishing one more block on Christmas Rules my wip returned to the drawer, as usual, to wait for a new month to arrive. At that moment, an old ufo called out my name :)

An halloween ornament that I stitched last year but was kept out of my 2010 finishes list because I didn't have a pinking sheers at the time :p So, before starting new things, I thought it was best to finish this one first ;)

On Sunday I stitched the beads but I was missing the organza ribbon, now my ornament is finished just like I wanted :D

Also in the drawer is Photobooth snowmen (yes!!!! that one! LOL), and two other snowmen that I stitched in the beginning of this year. Soon you'll see them here :) I hope to get to the end of 2011 with an empty drawer, without any wip or ufo! :p

A minha fadinha esteve tanto tempo em standby (outros bordados apareceram pelo meio, a Gorjuss, presentes de aniversário..) que fiquei ansiosa por lhe ver algum progresso! Acreditem que foram precisas muitas horas até começar a ficar mais satisfeita :p Só mesmo nos últimos dois dias é que comecei a sorrir por já lhe notar as ondinhas do vestido a esvoaçar :)

Para quem queria terminar o mês de Setembro com o vestido todo pronto..
...ainda fiquei bastante longe :p

Amanhã começa o mês de Outubro e há mais um bloquinho a bordar no Christmas Rules :) A seguir? Época de Halloween!!!! :D

My fairy was on standby for so long (other things in the way, one Gorjuss girl, birthday gifts... ) I was eager to see some progress on her! Well.. for someone who wanted to finish Bluebell's dress until the end of September... I'm quite far :p

Tomorrow begins the month of October and there's a new block to stitch on my Christmas Rules :) After that? It's Halloween season!! :D

Hoje recebi a minha primeira revista Just Cross Stitch! Na verdade fiquei triste quando abri o pacote e reparei que não era a minha encomenda.. enviaram-me a revista em vez do livro, uma edição especial de Halloween. Mas, logo a seguir, fiquei contente de novo porque vão rectificar o erro enviando o livro que pedi e ainda disseram para ficar com a revista que veio por engano :p

Tenho andado a bordar a Bluebell mas não mostrei actualizações aqui porque o progresso estava muito lento :p Bordava, bordava, bordava... e não via a minha fada crescer!! Mas agora já me parece mais 'apresentável' hehehehe

Today I received my first Just Cross Stitch magazine! Actually, I was sad at first, when I opened the package and noticed that it wasn't what I had order... I got the Annual Halloween Issue instead of the Halloween Collection Book. But, soon after, I was happy again because they will rectify the mistake by sending me the book today and I can keep the magazine that came by mistake :p

I'm starting to prepare my needles for Halloween ;)

I've been stitching Bluebell but I haven't shown updates here because the progress was very slow :p I was stitching, stitching, stitching... and I couldn't see my fairy grow!! I think she's more 'presentable' now hehehehe Come back tomorrow to see how she looks, I'll post photo ;)

Há bastante tempo que andava com vontade de fazer uma coroa para a minha porta da entrada. Dar um pouco de personalidade à frente da casa ;) Nada como a chegada do Outono para deixar a inspiração bater à porta! :D

Comecei na quinta-feira... a pensar que terminava no mesmo dia! hahahah Foi a piada da estação!! :p Só no Sábado terminei de enrolar toda a lã em torno da coroa, para no Domingo completar com as rosinhas de feltro :)

Nesta jornada tenho de agradecer à Mollie, do blog Wild Olive, pelo seu post com paletes de meadas em cores outonais :) Foi o seu Pumpkin Spice Latte que me lançou na escolha das cores para a minha coroa, com a DMC 920 e 3776 cruzei a coroa e com a DMC 938 920 e 676 tentei aproximar o feltro. Adorei!

I've been willing to make a wreath for my front door for a long time! Give a bit of personality to the front of the house ;) Nothing like the arrival of Autumn to let the inspiration knock on the door! :D

I started on Thursday... thinking that I would finish it in the same day! hahahah That was the joke of the season! :p Only on Saturday I finished wrapping all the yarn around the wreath, on Sunday I embellished it with felt roses :)

On this journey I have to thank Mollie, from Wild Olive blog, for her post with fall floss palettes :) It was the Pumpkin Spice Latte that gave me the choice of colors for my wreath, I used DMC 920 and 3776 to cross the wreath and DMC 938 920 and 676 to try to match the felt colors. Loved it!

Oh yes! Now it's the official welcome to Autumn! :D

Autumn colors have arrived but I still have a bit of summer shades to share with you, cheerful and bright cupcake colors that I put in a couple of cards :) Patterns from Cross Stitcher magazine (issue n.239) that came as an example to stitch into gift bags but I envisioned them in the front of a birthday card :)
I thought these would match up very well with my special cupcakes :)

But... something was missing to complete ...a box, wouldn't you say?
Look to that last picture above and tell me if it isn't the sweetest thing! =) Hehehhehe Cupcake fever around here? ...it's possible ;) LOL

Utilizei tecido de algodão em vez de tela para bordar mas podem aplicar qualquer uma das ideias com o material que vocês quiserem.

Ingredientes: 1 FQ, 1 tira de feltro, 6 alfinetes e 1 fita

Dobrar o tecido várias vezes e enrolar, tal como no tutorial anterior.

Desta vez, sem o feltro no meio, servirá para substituir a forma de papel ;)

Prende-se com alfinetes, fazendo um efeito de 'copinho' :)

Voilá!

Podemos ainda dar um toque extra com um fitinha...

... e porque não um alfinete no topo =)

Today I have a variation of the Cupcake #1 tutorial to share with you.
It's basically the same method, just another suggestion to finish it ;)

Ingredients: 1 FQ, 1 strip of felt, 6 pins and a ribbon

Fold the fabric and roll it several times, as in the previous tutorial. I'm using cotton fabric but you may apply any of the ideas with any kind of fabric that you want. This time, without the felt in the middle, it will be used to replace the paper cup by covering around the fabric cupcake and holding it with pins ;) Voilá!

We can also give an extra touch with a ribbon..
... and why not a pin at the top =)

Não foi a primeira vez que entrei num estádio de futebol mas hoje foi a primeira vez que assisti a um jogo ao vivo e a cores!!! :D A minha estreia foi logo com um Guimarães x Braga.. derby minhoto... medooooo :p LOL Mas afinal até que a experiência foi divertida e não houve confusões :)

Não me perguntem se foi um bom jogo ou não, dessa parte entendo pouco :p Fui mais na base da companhia para quem ía ver o jogo hahaha E claro, para sentir o que é estar ali no meio dos adeptos, viver o ambiente :)

Deu para sentir o estádio em peso a vibrar quando o Vitória de Guimarães marcou um golo na primeira parte :) Já não foi tão bonito quando o Braga marcou perto do fim do jogo :p E ainda me ri bastante com as figuras que os adeptos fazem, ou mesmo com as cantorias das claques (fez-me lembrar os tempos da praxe na universidade!! hehehe)

Tirando o facto de nunca ter ouvido tantos palavrões em tão curto espaço de tempo :p Posso dizer que foi engraçado, não me importo de voltar a repetir mas.. quero um cachecol cor-de-rosa do Vitória de Guimarães :D O equipamento da equipa é branco e preto mas desde que vi alguém a passear com um cor-de-rosa.. Rui, já sabes o que comprar para mim ;) hehehehe

Já posso dizer que fui à bola pelo menos uma vez na vida! :D Lollada!!

It wasn't the first time I entered in a stadium but today was the first time I watched a football game, live and in color! :D And my first experience was just one game Guimarães x Braga... derby here on the north of Portugal... feaaaaaar :p LOL Actually, it was fun and there was no confusion :)

Don't ask me if it was a good game or not, I don't really understand about that :p I just went for the fun of watching a game and feel how it is to be in the middle of the team fans, to 'live' that environment :) heheheh

I had the opportunity to feel the stadium vibrate when the Guimarães team scored a goal in the first half :) It was not so nice when Braga scored near the end of the game :p And I laughed a lot with the scenes that fans made, also with the singing of the cheerleaders (it reminded me of the first year in the university hehehe)

Taking out the fact that I've never heard so many cursing in such a short time :p I can say it was fun, I wouldn't mind going again but.. I want a pink scarf from Guimarães team :D Their equipment is black and white but I saw someone walking around with a pink one... Rui, you know what to buy for me ;) hehehehe

Now I can say that I went to a football game at least once in my lifetime! :D Lol

Acho que 2011 já bateu o recorde do ano em que mais azul bordei!! :p
Já vos falei que andei a preparar alguns presentes de aniversário, um deles foi para a minha cunhada, que me pediu uma versão azul do caminho de mesa que fiz para a minha mãe no ano passado. Recordam-se?

Isto de ter uma família que gosta dos meus bordadinhos é muito bom para a lista de Natal, não preciso decidir o que oferecer, basta anotar pedidos ;)
Para a minha mãe será um conjunto para a cozinha e para a minha cunhada um outro caminho de mesa em azul e prata, desta vez com o tema de Natal. Só preciso escolher os gráficos! :D

Para o tema de Natal, pensei em algo do tipo presentes em azul com fita prata, como este que encontrei na Rico Designs:

I think 2011 has beaten the record of the year when I've stitched more blue! :p
I've told you that I was preparing some birthday gifts, one of them was for my sister-in-law, who asked me for a blue version of the table runner that I stitched last year for my mother. Do you remember?
And thus was born a blue version of the same piece :)

Having a family that appreciates my handmade gifts it's great when it comes the time to make the Christmas list, no need to decide what to offer, just take requests ;) To my mother I will stitch a set for the kitchen and to my SIL another table runner in blue and silver, this time with the Christmas theme.
I just need to choose the patterns! :D

For the Christmas theme, first I thought of something like blue gift boxes with silver ribbons, as I found in Rico Designs magazine (picture above with the red patterns). But in the same issue there's another pattern that I found very pretty, look to the last pic above.. I like those stripe trees and snowflakes floating... can you imagine it in blue and silver? :) Let me know what you think, all suggestions are welcome ;)

Sem sombra de dúvida que as minhas meninas Gorjuss batem os recordes de comentários nos posts aqui do blog! :D Eu bem vos avisei que vinha por aí uma sobrecarga de fofura ;) ehehehe Vocês sabem que sempre respondo por email a todos os comentários que me deixam aqui no blog.. bom, excepto quando não há nenhum email associado ao perfil de utilizador, aí fica difícil :p Mas, em vez de responder às vossas palavras simpáticas com 37 agradecimentos corados, vou reunir tudo num único e gigante..

Como já vos contei antes, estes kits trazem sempre algum detalhe, algo diferente e interessante. Neste foi o efeito para a neve :) Muitas foram as perguntas de como se faz, a resposta: linha Lana, da Madeira ;)

É uma linha de efeito especial, semelhante às linhas de algodão mas com um textura ligeiramente mais peluda. O efeito faz-se no fim de bordar, esfregando com um pedaço de velcro que vai 'puxar' aquele efeito algodão.
Interessante, não é? :)

Este post já está a ficar um pouco longo (consequência de quem escreve em duas linguas :p) por isso deixo os updates dos meus bordados para amanhã. Novas fotos no próximo post ;)

As I've told you before, these kits always bring some detail, something different and interesting. This time was the snow effect :) I got many question about how I did that, simple answer: Lana thread, by Madeira ;) It's a special thread, very similar to the regular cotton threads but with a little more fluffy texture. First we stitch and then the effect is made rubbing with a piece of velcro that will 'pull' the cotton. Interesting, isn't it? :)

This post is getting a bit long (the result of blogging in two languages :p) so I'm leaving my cross stitch updates for tomorrow. New photos in the next post ;)

Vamos lá encarar a segunda-feira com uma atitude positiva, é uma semana nova e fresquinha a começar :D E eu tenho imenso para postar nos próximos dias!!! Repararam que o título do post anterior foi cupcake #1? Pois é, vem outro por aí heheheh E ainda no lanço dos tutoriais, vou também postar como faço os meus saquinhos.. que já tanta gente pediu!! Só falta um bocadinho de tempo para organizar as fotos e escrever os posts!

Na semana passada estive a preparar presentinhos para as aniversariantes de Setembro, também já tenho a minha Gorjuss e o seu urso polar prontinhos para a festa :D e agora estou a bordar o bloquinho do Christmas Rules. Ainda fico com metade do mês para me dedicar à Bluebell :)

Quem também faz aniversário no mês de Setembro é a loja de lavores onde costumo comprar os meus materiais de bordado, sábado foi dia de festa com desconto especial para as clientes :) Uhuuuuuu!!! Aproveitei a oportunidade para comprar algumas coisinhas...

.. tecido, Aida colorida, um paninho de mesa, uma fraldinha de pano e umas linhas (que são normalmente mais caras) já a pensar no Natal ;)

Lets face our Monday with a positive attitude, it's a brand new week starting :D And I have a lot to post during the next few days! Did you notice the title on my previous post, cupcake #1? Well, there's another one coming heheheh Since I'm in this tutorial mood, I'll also post how I make my string bags... so many people have asked me for it! I just need to find a little time to organize the photos and write the posts ;)

Last week I was preparing goodies for the September birthday girls, I also got my Gorjuss girl and her Polar Bear friend all ready for the happy dance party :D and now I'm stitching one more block on Christmas Rules. I'll still have half of the month to stitch Bluebell :)

Who also has a birthday in the month of September is my LNS where I usually buy my stitch supplies, Saturday was a day of celebration with special discount for customers :) Uhuuuuuu!!! I took the opportunity to buy a few things... fabric, colored Aida, one table runner, one baby burp cloth and a couple of threads (which are usually more expensive) already thinking about Christmas ;)

DIY °•● cupcake #1

No meu aniversário recebi da Lainey um cupcake de tecido que achei a coisa mais fofa =) Já tinha visto uma ideia semelhante na Cross Stitcher mas feito com barras de quadrilé. Eu decidi experimentar com lugana e feltro para fazer um efeito de creme heheheh sem esquecer a cereja no topo ;)

Ingredientes: 1 FQ, 1 tira de feltro, 1 meada, 2 alfinetes e 1 forminha
Detalhe: no feltro dei um efeito com a minha nova tesourinha zig-zag :)

Dobrar o tecido várias vezes, de forma a ficar numa tira com a altura pretendida para o cupcake

Utilizar uma tira de feltro com a mesma altura da barra de tecido, colocar uma sobre a outra e na ponta a meada que será a cerejinha do topo :)

Enrolar..

.. no fim prender com dois alfinetes e cortar o excesso de feltro

Sem dúvida que é uma ideia muito engraçada para presentear as amigas :)

On my birthday Lainey sent me a fabric cupcake, the cutest thing =) I had seen a similar idea in Cross Stitcher magazine but done with Aida bands. I decided to try it with lugana and felt to make a cream effect heheheh

Ingredients: 1 FQ, 1 strip of felt, 1 thread, 2 pins and 1 cupcake cup
Note: I used my new pinking shears on the felt :)

Fold the fabric several times to get a strip with the desired height for the cupcake. Use a strip of felt with the same height as the fabric, put one over the other and the thread on the end. That will be our cherry on the top :)
Roll until the end, hold with two pins and trim the excess felt.

An adorable idea to offer fabric to our friends! :)

Não digam que não vos avisei.. o meu aniversário é mesmo festa cigana! LOL

Começou em Julho e ainda chegam presentes no mês Setembro :D Mas ninguém se está a queixar ;) haahhahah Agora vou oficialmente encerrar a 'época de festas', chegou a última caixinha que vinha lá do outro lado da poça! Junto com a encomenda do Atelier Caseiro, chegaram miminhos da Ana :)

Uma tesoura zig-zag que eu tive de correr para experimentar!! ahhaahah Por isso o pedacinho de feltro verde aí na foto ;) Fazia tempo que queria comprar uma destas, agora já posso concretizar algumas ideias que estavam à espera desta ferramenta essencial :D Obrigada Aninha!!! ♥

Há duas semanas atrás outra caixinha chegou, com algo bem conhecido das terras brasileiras.. havaianas que eu adoro :D

Don't say that I didn't warn you... my birthday is like a gypsy party! LOL

It began in July and I'm still receiving gifts in September :D But nobody is complaining ;) haahhahah Now I'm officially closing the 'birthday season', the last package arrived from the other side of the pond! With my order from Atelier Caseiro, that I showed you on my previous post, b-day gifts from Ana :)

Espero que o vosso fim-de-semana tenha sido tão bom quanto o meu! :)
É verdade que o tempo não esteve lá muito bom mas agora temos sol para a semana toda :D E foi bom a chuva e o tempo mais fresco, o meu jardim está bastante grato heheheh Novos botõezinhos começaram a aparecer =)

Também foi óptimo para passar o fim-de-semana com o computador desligado e dedicar-me apenas às agulhas :) O resultado? Está aqui:

It's true that the weather wasn't great but now we have sun for the entire week :D And it was nice to have some rain and cooler temperatures, my garden is very grateful heheheh New flowers are growing =)

It was also good to spend the weekend with my computer shut down, I had two days to enjoy my needles and threads :) The result? Oh well... you can check the picture above ;) Almost-almost-almost another Gorjuss girl ready =)

Really, these girls have a spell on me, it's difficult to drop them and stitch something else! I even had the intention to stitch my Christmas Rules block for this month but "Gorjuss --- gorjuss --- gorjuss ---" was all that my heart was listening :)))

Bem-vindo Setembro! E quase podemos dar as boas-vindas ao Outono também... Portugal está com uns dias de Inverno que ninguém queria tão depressa! As temperaturas já se sentem a baixar, a chuva cai intensamente.. o Verão foi preguiçoso! Chegou tarde e já quer ir embora =/

Mas tudo na vida tem o seu lado positivo, estamos a poupar na água para regar o jardim! heheheh As flores já não sofrem com os dias de calor e qualquer dia começamos a ver as cores do Outono a invadir as ruas :) O que também é um cenário bem bonito de se ver!

Acho que o facto de ter pela primeira vez um jardim está a mudar a minha opinião sobre as estações.. os dias de muito calor foram bastante agressivos para a relva e para as flores =/ Por outro lado, cheira-me que a próxima Primavera será bem especial, quando os meus canteiros estiverem recheados de florzinhas a brotar ;) Em 2012 saberei hehehe

E as minhas metas para o novo mês, quais são?
Ora bem, em Agosto comecei as minhas duas meninas azuis, Bluebell e Winter Friends, o plano é continuar (e terminar, espero!) em Setembro :) Claro, sem esquecer mais um bloquinho no Christmas Rules, o meu SAL com a Cathey ;)

A minha Gorjuss está com um bom progresso... talvez seja por culpa deste tempo chuvoso que me chama mais o gráfico de inverno! Mas a Bluebell não está esquecida, não ;) Quero muito continuar a fadinha também =)

Vou esticar muitoooooooooooo o mês de Setembro para compensar os dias que andei sem bordar :p hehehehe

PS: estou atrasada nos emails mas prometo responder a toda a gente (se não for antes) durante o fim-de-semana ;)

Welcome September! And we can almost welcome Autumn as well... Portugal is under some winter days that no one wanted so quickly! We can already feel temperatures falling, outside heavy rain... oooh Summer was lazy! Arrived too late and wants to leave so soon =/

But everything in life has its positive side, we are saving water because there's no need to water the garden! heheheh Flowers no longer suffer with hot days and soon we will start to see the colors of Autumn invading the streets :) Also quite a beautiful scenario to behold!

I think the fact of having a garden for the first time is changing my opinion about the seasons... hot days were very aggressive to our grass and flowers =/ On the other hand, I have a feeling that next Spring will be very special when my garden is filled with flowers blooming ;) In 2012 I will know hehehe

And my goals for the new month, what about?
Well, in August I started my two blue girls, Bluebell and Winter Friends, the plan is to continue (and finish, I hope!) in September :) Of course, not forgetting one more block on Christmas Rules too, my SAL with Cathey ;)

I made a good progress on my Gorjuss this week... maybe it's this rainy weather that calls me over to the winter pattern! But Bluebell is not forgotten, no way ;) I really want to continue my fairy too =)

I will really - reaaaallllyyyy - stretch the month of September to make up for the days without stitching last month :p hehehehe

PS: I'm behind on my emails but I promise I'll reply to everyone (if not before) during the weekend ;)

Agosto é o mês em que a maioria dos portugueses vai de férias, excepto nós que tivemos trabalho extra :p Temos este projecto que precisa estar pronto para arrancar no ínicio de Setembro, por isso, os possíveis dias de praia foram trocados por dias de trabalho! O prazo está a chegar, os meus objectivos foram cumpridos, o trabalho está bem encaminhado e quase finalizado :) Ontem deu até para bordar à noite... já parece uma semana normal :D hahahahah

Estou a bordar outro vestidinho azul =)

Adoro o cabelo desta menina! :)
Até ao final da semana sou capaz de conseguir terminar o vestido.. talvez o braço.. as meias e as botas.. talvez eu devesse parar :p LOL

August is the month when most Portuguese go away on vacation, except for us... we had extra work to do :p We have this project that needs to be ready for the beginning of September, so our beach days were exchanged for work days! Deadline is close, my goals have been met, work is on good track and almost finished :) Yesterday I even got to stitch at night... it's almost looking like a normal week :D hahahahah

I'm stitching another blue dress =) as you can see on the pic.

I absolutely love her hair! :)
By the end of the week I think I will have her dress done... maybe her arm too... socks and boots... maybe I should stop :p LOL

Como vocês sabem, estas semanas têm sido de trabalho intenso, tenho postado menos por aqui e também tenho bordado pouquinho =/ Às vezes nem é que seja falta de tempo, é mais o cansaço que se apodera do corpinho :p Ontem foi dia de relaxar um pouco, rever amigos e passear :)

Fomos comer um gelado ao Bom Jesus, um lugar tão agradável para passear! Espaços verdes encantadores e com uma linda vista sobre a cidade de Braga =)

E para fechar o post, um update dos meus bordadinhos, a Bluebell continua no mesmo ponto que vocês já viram mas a minha última Gorjuss já está com os seus cabelos ao vento :D

As you know, these last few weeks have been of intense work for me, I'm not posting as much as I usually do and I'm also stitching too little =/ Sometimes it's not lack of time, it's the fatigue that seizes this body :p Yesterday was day to relax a bit, meet friends and stroll :)

We went to Bom Jesus to eat an ice cream, such a lovely place to spend the afternoon! Charming green spaces and a beautiful view over the city of Braga =)

And to close this post, a stitching update! Bluebell continues at the same point but my lastest Gorjuss girl has her hair flowing in the wind :D
