let's talk about babies? :D

source: TheWishingElephant on Etsy

:p heheheh

We have rain for the whole week but temperatures are rising a bit... maybe it's Spring coming? It's not far! Getting closer and closer ;) I don't have photo from my Gorjuss but tonight I'll finish the backstitch and beads... happy dance is coming :D I just hope tomorrow the sun will cooperate for the pictures :p

So, my theme for today is something else: babies!
From family to friends, there's a baby boom around me :D I'm looking for blogs or websites with good info about the journey of pregnancy and the first months of the baby. Basically, a useful source of information for new moms :) Where to start? Right here, asking for the contribution from those who have been there and have gone through all this :)

* Do you know any blog worth following?
* Other websites that you would recommend?
* Suggestions for first baby outfits? How many itens are necessary from bibs to washcloths, babygrows, shirts... (there must be a standard list somewhere...)

Mums on the blogosphere, all your suggestions are welcome and for longer conversations, feel free to use my email too ;) I'm already taking all this to learn on the way too :D hehehe

PS: I thought it would be better to add a little note... reading your comments I can see I left you all a little confused! LOL I'm not pregnant! I've told you on another post about the baby boom but I'm not a part of it yet! :p heheheh

  10. Recommendations depend on your parenting style. I found a lot of the parenting forums were full of people who disagreed with my style of parenting, I have since learned my style is known as Attached Parenting. I am pro breast feeding, baby wearing, natural childbirth (although I had a section for my 2nd son so I'm not anti those in emergencies!). I am anti dummies, controlled crying and people who put themselves before their babies. If your friends feel the same as me then I recommend 2 Facebook groups, the Analytical Armadillo and Dispelling Breast Feeding Myths.
Clothes wise, it depends on often you want to wash tiny items! I had 2 weeks worth of small stuff but kept it simple, body suits and baby grows for the first 3 or 4 months. Tops and trousers after that.
The funny thing I did was have plain white baby grows for nighttime and coloured ones for day, like baby could tell the difference LOL.

  14. My "baby's" are seven and the other turned six today!!
So i am also out of the baby's haha.
My advice: shop a lot, there are to many cute clothes and make many cute presents and cross stitch patterns!!!

  15. I have a 4 months old to look after right now :) I chose to keep it simple for the first few months: baby grow and body, that is what we are using a lot. I wish I would have seen before those baby grows that have integrated scratch mittens, they would have saved me trying to put a mitten to her little hands and having to put it again and again every 5 minutes. But I have never seen them in shops, only discovered it now online (at Next). One also needs sleeping bags for the night and something to keep the baby warm during the walks with the pram, we use a "mono piloto (in Spanish)"/"macacão (?)" (don't know the english word, so tried to look up the Portuguese :) )

We also have some fancy clothes but do not really use them yet.

I wonder how small can be a baby Nia =D
Rooooo naughty girl (but I can hear you laugh :D)

  17. Hi Nia, it seems you confused lots of readers here;) I'm not a part of the baby boom but I enjoy reading the blog of Shauna (http://shwinandshwin.blogspot.ru/) who is a mother of 3))) The youngest one is a new born)))

  23. I know they say not to read books or anything on the internet but I read What To Expect When Expecting and it was very informative. Even my doctor said it was good to read. It's broken up into months and I read each month as I was going through them. HTH :)
